Haweis⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴ Now this was entirely done, that what was spoken by the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, ⁵ "Tell the daughter of Sion, Lo! thy King cometh to thee, meek, and sitting on an ass, even on a foal the ass's colt." ⁶ Then the disciples going, and doing as Jesus had commanded them, ⁷ brought the ass and her foal, and they spread over them their garments, and seated him upon them. ⁸ And a vast multitude spread their garments on the road, and others cut down branches from the trees, and strewed them on the road: ⁹ and the multitudes who went before, and who followed after, cried, saying, Hosanna, to the son of David; blessed is he who cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
