2 John 1:1-3 John 1:15

KJ2000^{(i) 1} The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth; ² For the truth's sake, which dwells in us, and shall be with us forever. ³ Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. ⁴ I rejoiced greatly that I found some of your children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. ⁵ And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. ⁶ And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it. ⁷ For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. ⁸ Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have worked for, but that we receive a full reward. ⁹ Whoever goes beyond, and abides not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God. He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: ¹¹ For he that bids him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. ¹² Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. ¹³ The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.

¹ The elder unto the well beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth. ² Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. ³ For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. ⁵ Beloved, you do faithfully whatsoever you do for the brethren, and for strangers; ⁶ Who have borne witness of your love before the church: whom if you send forward on their journey in a godly manner, you shall do well: ⁷ Because for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. ⁸ We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth. ⁹ I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, receives us not. ¹⁰ Therefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, speaking against us with malicious words: and not content with that, neither does he himself receive the brethren, and forbids them that would, and casts them out of the church. ¹¹ Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God: but he that does evil has not seen God. ¹² Demetrius has good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear witness; and you know that our witness is true. ¹³ I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto you: ¹⁴ But I trust I shall shortly see you, and we shall speak face to face.
