Nehemiah 4:1-11 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall , he was wroth , and took great indignation , and mocked the Jews.

3 H2900 Now Tobiah H5984 the Ammonite H681 was by him H559 , and he said [H8799] H1129 , Even that which they build [H8802] H7776 , if a fox H5927 go up [H8799] H6555 , he shall even break down [H8804] H68 their stone H2346 wall.

4 H8085 Hear [H8798] H430 , O our God H939 ; for we are despised H7725 : and turn [H8685] H2781 their reproach H7218 upon their own head H5414 , and give [H8798] H961 them for a prey H776 in the land H7633 of captivity:

5 H3680 And cover [H8762] H5771 not their iniquity H2403 , and let not their sin H4229 be blotted out [H8735] H6440 from before H3707 thee: for they have provoked thee to anger [H8689] H1129 before the builders [H8802] .

6 H1129 So built [H8799] H2346 we the wall H2346 ; and all the wall H7194 was joined together [H8735] H2677 unto the half H5971 thereof: for the people H3820 had a mind H6213 to work [H8800] .

7 H5571 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat H2900 , and Tobiah H6163 , and the Arabians H5984 , and the Ammonites H796 , and the Ashdodites H8085 , heard [H8804] H2346 that the walls H3389 of Jerusalem H724 were made up H5927 [H8804] H6555 , and that the breaches [H8803] H2490 began [H8689] H5640 to be stopped [H8736] H3966 , then they were very H2734 wroth [H8799] ,

8 H7194 And conspired [H8799] H3162 all of them together H935 to come [H8800] H3898 and to fight [H8736] H3389 against Jerusalem H6213 , and to hinder [H8800] H8442 it.

9 H6419 Nevertheless we made our prayer [H8691] H430 unto our God H5975 , and set [H8686] H4929 a watch H3119 against them day H3915 and night H6440 , because of them.

10 H3063 And Judah H559 said [H8799] H3581 , The strength H5449 of the bearers of burdens H3782 is decayed [H8804] H7235 , and there is much [H8687] H6083 rubbish H3201 ; so that we are not able [H8799] H1129 to build [H8800] H2346 the wall.

11 H6862 And our adversaries H559 said [H8799] H3045 , They shall not know [H8799] H7200 , neither see [H8799] H935 , till we come [H8799] H8432 in the midst H8432 among H2026 them, and slay [H8804] H4399 them, and cause the work H7673 to cease [H8689] .
