Nehemiah 4:1-11 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry, and felt great indignation, and mocked the Judeans.

2 H559 [H8799] And he spoke H6440 at the face of H251 his brethren H2428 and the army H8111 of Samaria, H559 [H8799] and said, H6213 [H8802] What do H537 these feeble H3064 Judeans? H5800 [H8799] will they fortify H2076 [H8799] themselves? will they sacrifice? H3615 [H8762] will they finish H3117 in a day? H2421 [H8762] will they revive H68 the stones H6194 out of the heaps H6083 of the rubbish H8313 [H8803] which are burned?

3 H2900 Now Tobiah H5984 the Ammonite H681 was by him, H559 [H8799] and he said, H1129 [H8802] Even that which they build, H7776 if a fox H5927 [H8799] should go up, H6555 [H8804] he would even break down H68 their stone H2346 wall.

4 H8085 [H8798] Hear, H430 O our God; H939 for we are despised: H7725 [H8685] and turn H2781 their reproach H7218 upon their own head, H5414 [H8798] and give H961 them for a spoil H776 in the land H7633 of captivity:

5 H3680 [H8762] And cover H5771 not their perversity, H2403 and let not their sin H4229 [H8735] be blotted out H6440 from the face of H3707 [H8689] thee: for they have provoked thee to anger H1129 [H8802] before the builders.

6 H1129 [H8799] So we built H2346 the wall; H2346 and all the wall H7194 [H8735] was joined together H2677 to the half H5971 of it: for the people H3820 had a heart H6213 [H8800] to work.

7 H5571 But it came to pass, when Sanballat, H2900 and Tobiah, H6163 and the Arabians, H5984 and the Ammonites, H796 and the Ashdodites, H8085 [H8804] heard H2346 that the walls H3389 of Jerusalem H724 H5927 [H8804] were set up, H6555 [H8803] and that the breaches H2490 [H8689] began H5640 [H8736] to be closed, H3966 then they were very H2734 [H8799] angry,

8 H7194 [H8799] And conspired H3162 all of them together H935 [H8800] to come H3898 [H8736] and to fight H3389 against Jerusalem, H6213 H8442 [H8800] and to hinder it.

9 H6419 [H8691] Nevertheless we made our prayer H430 to our God, H5975 [H8686] and set H4929 a watch H3119 against them day H3915 and night, H6440 because of them.

10 H3063 And Judah H559 [H8799] said, H3581 The strength H5449 of the bearers of burdens H3782 [H8804] is failing, H7235 [H8687] and there is much H6083 rubbish; H3201 [H8799] so that we are not able H1129 [H8800] to build H2346 the wall.

11 H6862 And our constricters H559 [H8799] said, H3045 [H8799] They shall not know, H7200 [H8799] neither see, H935 [H8799] till we come H8432 in the midst H8432 among H2026 [H8804] them, and slay H4399 them, and cause the work H7673 [H8689] to cease.
