Romans 2:1-16

MLV(i) 1 Hence O man, you are without defense, everyone who judges; for in what you are judging the other, you are condemning yourself; for you who judge are practicing the same things. 2 Now we have known that the judgment of God is according to truth upon those who practice such things. 3 Now O man, who is judging those who practice such things and you are practicing the same things. Are you reasoning that you will be fleeing from the judgment of God? 4 Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, being ignorant that the kindness of God is leading you to repentance? 5 But you store up wrath for yourself according to your hardness and unrepentant heart in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 who will ‘repay to each according to his works.’ 7 Everlasting life to those who indeed by endurance in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruption. 8 But to those seeking things out of selfish ambition and who are indeed disobedient to the truth, but obey unrighteousness, he will repay with fury and wrath, 9 affliction and distress upon every soul of man who is working evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek. 10 But glory and honor and peace to every man who is working good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek; 11 for there is no favoritism with God.
12 For as many as have sinned without the law will also perish without the law. And as many as have sinned under the law will be judged through the law. 13 For the hearers of the law are not righteous with God, but the doers of the law will be made righteous. 14 For whenever the Gentiles, not having the law, practice the things of the law by nature, these, not having the law, are the law to themselves; 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying together with their hearts, and between one another, their reasonings are accusing or either defending them; 16 in the day when God will be judging the secrets of men through Jesus Christ, according to my teaching of the good-news.
