And all the birds were glutted with their flesh. ²⁰ ¹ Then I saw an angel descend from heaven with the key of the abyss and a huge chain in his hand; ² he gripped the dragon, that old serpent (who is the devil and Satan), and bound him for a thousand years, ³ flinging him into the abyss and shutting and sealing it on the top of him, to prevent him seducing the nations again until the thousand years were completed — after which he has to be released for a little while.
