3 And David struck Hadarezer the king of Zobah at Hamath, as he went to establish his power by the Euphrates River;
4 and from him, David captures a thousand chariots and seven thousand cavalry and twenty thousand footmen; and David uproots/hamstrings all the chariots; but a hundred of their chariots remain.
5 And when the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah-Hamath, David struck down twenty-two thousand men of Aram.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.
7 And David took the golden shields that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.
9 And Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the whole force of Hadadezer king of Zobah.
