1 John 2

VIN(i) 1 My little children, I write this to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 By this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commands. 4 He who says, 'I know him,' but does not obey his commands, is a liar and the truth is not in him; 5 But whoever keeps his word, God's love has truly been perfected in him. This is how we know that we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked. 7 Dearly beloved, I am not writing you a new command, but an old one that you have had from the beginning. That old command is the message that you have heard. 8 Yet I am writing you a new commandment, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. 9 If anyone claims to be in the light but hates his brother, he is still in the darkness. 10 He who loves his Brother is always in the Light, and there is nothing within him to cause him to stumble; 11 But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name. 13 I write to you, fathers, because you have known him, who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, children, because you have known the Father. 14 I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For the things in the world--the cravings of the earthly nature, the cravings of the eyes, the show and pride of life--they all come, not from the Father, but from the world. 17 The world and its desires (lusts) are passing away; but he who does the will of God lives forever. 18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come; by this we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But their departure made it clear that none of them belonged to us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know the truth. 21 I did not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is the liar, if it is not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 24 As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is what he has promised useternal life. 26 I have written these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you. 27 And as for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you do not have need that anyone teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you reside in him. 28 And now, little children, remain in Him, so that when He appears, we may be confident and unashamed before Him at His coming. 29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that every one who does right has been born of him.
