1 Chronicles 10 Now the Philistines fought against Israel ; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines , and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.

3 H4421 And the battle H3513 [H8799] prevailed H7586 against Saul H3384 H7198 [H8688] , and the archers H4672 [H8799] hit H2342 [H8799] him, and he was wounded H3384 [H8802] by the archers.

4 H559 [H8799] Then said H7586 Saul H5375 H3627 [H8802] to his armourbearer H8025 [H8798] , Draw H2719 thy sword H1856 [H8798] , and thrust H6189 me through with it; lest these uncircumcised H935 [H8799] come H5953 [H8694] and abuse H5375 H3627 [H8802] me. But his armourbearer H14 [H8804] would H3966 not; for he was greatly H3372 [H8804] afraid H7586 . So Saul H3947 [H8799] took H2719 a sword H5307 [H8799] , and fell upon it.

5 H5375 H3627 [H8802] And when his armourbearer H7200 [H8799] saw H7586 that Saul H4191 [H8804] was dead H5307 [H8799] , he fell H2719 likewise on the sword H4191 [H8799] , and died.

6 H7586 So Saul H4191 [H8799] died H7969 , and his three H1121 sons H1004 , and all his house H4191 [H8804] died H3162 together.

7 H376 And when all the men H3478 of Israel H6010 that were in the valley H7200 [H8799] saw H5127 [H8804] that they fled H7586 , and that Saul H1121 and his sons H4191 [H8804] were dead H5800 [H8799] , then they forsook H5892 their cities H5127 [H8799] , and fled H6430 : and the Philistines H935 [H8799] came H3427 [H8799] and dwelt in them.

8 H4283 And it came to pass on the next day H6430 , when the Philistines H935 [H8799] came H6584 [H8763] to strip H2491 the slain H4672 [H8799] , that they found H7586 Saul H1121 and his sons H5307 [H8802] fallen H2022 in mount H1533 Gilboa.

9 H6584 [H8686] And when they had stripped H5375 [H8799] him, they took H7218 his head H3627 , and his armour H7971 [H8762] , and sent H5439 messengers around H776 into the land H6430 of the Philistines H1319 [H8763] , to carry tidings H6091 to their idols H5971 , and to the people.

10 H7760 [H8799] And they put H3627 his armour H1004 in the house H430 of their gods H8628 [H8804] , and fastened H1538 his head H1004 in the temple H1712 of Dagon.

13 H7586 So Saul H4191 [H8799] died H4604 for his transgression H4603 [H8804] which he committed H3068 against the LORD H1697 , even against the word H3068 of the LORD H8104 [H8804] , which he kept H7592 [H8800] not, and also for asking H178 counsel of a medium H1875 [H8800] , to enquire of it;

14 H1875 [H8804] And enquired H3068 not of the LORD H4191 [H8686] : therefore he slew H5437 [H8686] him, and turned H4410 the kingdom H1732 to David H1121 the son H3448 of Jesse.
