¹³ There is a travailing evil I have seen under the sun:Riches are kept by their possessor to his peril;

⁵ And moreover, Lot who is going with Abram, comes to have a flock and a herd and tents. ⁶ And not bearing is the land their dwelling together, for coming are their goods to be many and they cannot dwell together. ⁷ And coming is a contention between the graziers of Abram's cattle and the graziers of Lot's cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite are then dwelling in the land. ⁸ And saying is Abram to Lot, "There must not, pray, come to be contention between me and you, and between my graziers and your graziers, for mortals, brethren are we. ⁹ Is not the entire land before you? Be parted, pray, from me. If to the left, to the right will I go. And if to the right, to the left will I go. ¹⁰ And lifting is Lot his eyes and is seeing all the basin of the Jordan, for all of it was irrigated before Yahweh wrecked Sodom and Gomorrah, as the garden of Yahweh Elohim, as the land of Egypt as you come to Zoar. ¹¹ And choosing is Lot for his all the basin of the Jordan. And journeying is Lot east. And being parted are they, each man from his brother.

¹⁶ And restoring is he all the goods of Sodom, and, moreover, he restored Lot, his brother, and his goods, and moreover, the women and the people.

¹⁴ And forth is Lot faring, and is speaking to his sons-in-law, who took his daughters, and is saying. "Rise! Forth from this place, for ruining is Yahweh the city!"And becoming is he as one making fun, in the eyes of his sons-in law.

²⁶ Yet looking back is his wife from behind him, and becoming is she a monument of salt.

³¹ And saying is the firstborn to the inferior in station, "Our father is old, and man there is none in the earth to come on us as is the way of the entire earth. ³² Go! Give will we our father wine to drink, and lie with him and keep alive seed from our father. ³³ And giving are they their father wine to drink in that night. And coming is the firstborn, and lying with her father in that night, and he knows not her lying nor her rising. ³⁴ And coming is it on the morrow that the firstborn is saying to the inferior in station, "Behold! I lay yesternight with our father. We will give him wine to drink tonight, moreover. And you come, lie with him, and we will keep alive seed from our father. ³⁵ And, moreover, they are giving their father wine to drink in that night, and rising is the inferior in station, and is lying with her father. And he knows not her lying nor her rising. ³⁶ And pregnant are the two daughters of Lot by their father. ³⁷ And bearing is the firstborn a son, and is calling his name Moab, saying, "From my father.He is the forefather of Moab till this day. ³⁸ And the inferior in station, she, moreover, bears a son, and is calling his name Ben-Ammi. He is the forefather of the sons of Ammon till this day.

¹¹ If they say, Do walk with us, Let us wait in ambush for blood, Let us lurk gratuitously for the innocent, ¹² Like the unseen, we shall swallow them up alive, And robust like those descending to a crypt, ¹³ All precious wealth shall we find, We shall fill our houses with loot,

¹⁹ Such is the end of all who are greedy for gain; It takes away the soul of its possessors.

³² For the instability of the simple, it shall kill them, And the carelessness of the stupid, it shall destroy them."

⁴ Wealth is no benefit in the day of rage, Yet righteousness shall rescue from death."

²⁴ There is one who disperses yet is enhanced more, And another who keeps back more than what is upright yet ends only with a lack." ²⁵ The soul who gives a blessing is conferred with richness, And he who waters, he himself shall be watered also."

⁸ There was one person, but there was no second; There even was no son or brother for him; Also there was no end to all his toil, Yet his eyes were not satisfied with his riches. Then he said, For whom am I toiling And making my soul lack good? This too is vanity, and it is an experience of evil."

¹ There is an evil under the sun that I have seen, And it lies great upon humanity:" ² When a man to whom the One, Elohim, gives riches and substance and glory, And he has no lack to his soul of all that it yearns for, Yet the One, Elohim, does not give him power to eat of it Because a foreign man eats it, This is a vanity, and it is a travailing evil."

⁹ All this I have seen and have applied my heart to all work that is done under the sun, At a time when a man has authority over another man to do evil to him;"

²⁰ In that day humanity shall fling its forbidden idols of silver, and its forbidden idols of gold, which they make for it to worship, to the mole rats, and to the bats,

⁶ For the decadent is speaking decadence, and his heart is devising lawlessness, to execute pollution, and to speak, as to Yahweh, what leads astray, to empty the soul of the famished, and the drink of the thirsty he causes to be lacking." ⁷ And the miser's instruments are evil, and he plans counsels to harm the humble with false sayings, and frustrate the words of the needy, in judgment." ⁸ Yet the patron counsels willingness, and he, in the willingness, is confirmed."

¹⁸ Moreover, their silver and their gold, will not be able to rescue them in the day of the rage of Yahweh; and by the fire of His jealousy the entire land shall be devoured; for a finish, yea, a hustled one, shall He make of all dwelling in the land."

¹⁶ Now He told them a parable, saying, "The country place of a certain rich man bears well." ¹⁷ And he reasoned in himself, saying, 'What shall I be doing, seeing that I have no where to gather my fruits?'" ¹⁸ And he said, 'This will I be doing: I will pull down my barns, and greater ones will I build, and I will gather there all my grain and my good things." ¹⁹ And I will be declaring to my soul, "Soul, many good things have you laid up for many years. Rest, eat, drink, make merry."'" ²⁰ Yet God said to him, 'Imprudent one! In this night your soul are they demanding from you. Now, what you make ready, whose will it be?'" ²¹ Thus is he who is hoarding for himself and is not rich for God."

¹ Now He said to His disciples also, "A certain man, who was rich, had an administrator, and this man was accused to him by an adversary as dissipating his possessions." ² And summoning him, he said to him, 'What is this I am hearing concerning you? Render an account of your administration, for you can no longer be administrator.'" ³ Now the administrator said in himself, 'What shall I be doing, seeing that my lord will be wresting the administration from me? To dig I am not strong enough." ⁴ To be a mendicant I am ashamed. I knew what I shall be doing that whenever I may be deposed from the administration, they should be receiving me into their homes.'" ⁵ And calling to him each one of the debtors paying usury to his lord, he said to the first, 'How much are you owing my lord?'" ⁶ Now he said to him, 'A hundred baths of oil.' Now he said to him, 'Receive your bills, and, being seated, quickly write fifty.'" ⁷ Thereupon to another he said, 'Now you, how much are you owing?' Now he said, 'A hundred cors of grain.' And he is saying to him, 'Receive your bills, and write eighty.'" ⁸ And the lord applauds the unjust administrator, for he does prudently, for the sons of this eon are more prudent, above the sons of light in their own generation." ⁹ And am I saying to you, Make for yourselves friends with the mammon of injustice, that, whenever it may be defaulting, they should be receiving you into the eonian tabernacles? ¹⁰ He who is faithful in the least is faithful in much also, and he who is unjust in the least is unjust in much also." ¹¹ If, then, you did not come to be faithful in the unjust mammon, who will be entrusting to you the true? ¹² And, if you did not come to be faithful in that which is an outsider's, who will be giving you that which is yours? ¹³ No domestic can be slaving for two lords, for either he will be hating one and loving the other, or he will be upholding one and despising the other. You can not slave for God and mammon."

¹⁹ Now a certain man was rich and he dressed in purple and cambric, daily making merry splendidly."

²² Now the poor man came to die and he is carried away by the messengers into Abraham's bosom. Now the rich man also died, and was entombed." ²³ And in the unseen, lifting up his eyes, existing in torments, he is seeing Abraham from afar, and Lazarus in his bosom."

²² Now hearing this, Jesus said to him, "Still one thing you are lacking. All, whatever you have, sell, and distribute to the poor, and you will be having treasure in the heavens. And hither! Follow Me." ²³ Yet he, hearing all these things, became sorrow-stricken, for he was tremendously rich."

⁸ Now standing, Zaccheus said to the Lord, "Lo! the half of my possessions, Lord, I am giving to the poor! And if from anyone I get anything by blackmail, I am giving back fourfold."

⁹ Now, those intending to be rich are falling into a trial and a trap and the many foolish and harmful desires which are swamping men in extermination and destruction." ¹⁰ For a root of all of the evils is the fondness for money, which some, craving, were led astray from the faith and try themselves on all sides with much pain."

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren! Does not God choose the poor in the world, rich in faith and enjoyers of the allotment of the kingdom which He promises to those who are loving Him? ⁶ Yet you dishonor the poor one. Are not the rich tyrannizing over you? And they are drawing you to tribunals. ⁷ Are not they blaspheming the ideal name which is being invoked over you?

¹ Come now, you rich, lament, howling for your wretchedness which is coming on you! " ² Your riches have rotted and your garments have become food for moths. ³ Your gold and silver corrode and their venom will be for a testimony against you, and the venom will be eating your flesh as fire. You hoard in the last days." ⁴ Lo! the wage of the workers, who mow your country places, which has been withheld by you, is crying, and the imploring of the reapers has entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts."
