¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ {When he ran away from the face of Absalom his son.{ O Yahweh, how my foes do multiply! Many are those rising against me. ² Many are those saying to my soul, There is no salvation for him in his Elohim. {Interlude{ " ³ Yet You, O Yahweh, have been a Shield about me, My Glory, and the One raising up my head. ⁴ When I called to Yahweh with my voice, Then He answered me from His holy mountain. {Interlude{ " ⁵ As for me, I will lie down that I may sleep; I will awake, for Yahweh, He shall support me. ⁶ I shall not fear myriads of people Who are set against me, round about. ⁷ Do arise, O Yahweh! Save me, my Elohim! For You will smite all my enemies on the cheek; You will break the teeth of the wicked. ⁸ To Yahweh belongs the salvation; On Your people be Your blessing! {Interlude{ {Permanent, With Accompaniments{ "

¹ And it comes to pass afterwards, that Absalom prepares for himself a chariot, and horses, and fifty men are running before him;" ² and Absalom has risen early, and stood by the side of the way of the gate, and it comes to pass, every man who has a pleading to come unto the king for judgment, that Absalom calls unto him, and said, `Of what city [are] you?' and he said, `Of one of the tribes of Israel [is] your servant.. ³ And Absalom said unto him, `See, your matters [are] good and straightforward--and there is none hearkening to you from the king.. <sup>4</sup> And Absalom said, `Who does make me a judge in the land, that unto me does come every man who has a plea and judgment? --then I have declared him righteous.. ⁵ And it has come to pass, in the drawing nearing of any one to bow himself to him, that he has put forth his hand, and laid hold on him, and given a kiss to him;" ⁶ and Absalom does according to this thing to all Israel who come in for judgment unto the king, and Absalom steals the heart of the men of Israel. ⁷ And it comes to pass, at the end of forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, `Let me go, I pray you, and I complete my vow, that I vowed to Yahweh in Hebron, <sup>8</sup> for a vow has your servant vowed in my dwelling in Geshur, in Aram, saying, If Yahweh does certainly bring me back to Jerusalem, then I have served Yahweh.. <sup>9</sup> And the king said to him, `Go in peace;' and he rises and goes to Hebron, ¹⁰ and Absalom sends spies through all the tribes of Israel, saying, `At your hearing the voice of the trumpet, then you have said, Absalom has reigned in Hebron.. <sup>11</sup> And with Absalom have gone two hundred men, out of Jerusalem, invited ones, and they are going in their simplicity, and have not known anything;" <sup>12</sup> and Absalom sends Ahithophel the Gilonite, a counsellor of David, out of his city, out of Gilo, in his sacrificing sacrifices; and the conspiracy is strong, and the people are going and increasing with Absalom. <sup>13</sup> And he who is declaring tidings comes in unto David, saying, `The heart of the men of Israel has been after Absalom.. ¹⁴ And David said to all his servants who [are] with him in Jerusalem, `Rise, and we flee, for we have no escape from the face of Absalom; haste to go, lest he hasten, and have overtaken us, and forced on us evil, and smitten the city by the mouth of the sword.. <sup>15</sup> And the servants of the king say unto the king, `According to all that my lord the king chooses--lo, your servants [do].. ¹⁶ And the king goes out, and all his household at his feet, and the king leaves ten women--concubines--to keep the house. ¹⁷ And the king goes out, and all the people at his feet, and they stand still at the farthest off house. ¹⁸ And all his servants are passing on at his side, and all the Cherethite, and all the Pelethite, and all the Gittites, six hundred men who came at his feet from Gath, are passing on at the front of the king.

¹⁵ And Absalom and all the people, the men of Israel, have come in to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him,

¹¹ `So that I have counselled:Let all Israel be diligently gathered unto you, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, and you yourself are going in the midst;" ¹² and we have come in unto him in one of the places where he is found, and we [are] upon him as the dew falls on the ground, and there has not been left of him and of all the men who [are] with him even one. ¹³ And if unto a city he is gathered, then they have caused all Israel to bear unto that city ropes, and we have drawn it unto the brook till that there has not been found there even a stone..

⁷ Show the marvel of Your benignities, You Who are saving with Your right hand Those taking refuge from rising foes."

²¹ Now brother shall be giving up brother to death, and father, child, and children shall be rising up against parents, and shall be putting them to death."

²⁵ And, answering, the entire people said, "His blood be on us and on our children!"

⁷ And thus said Shimei in his reviling, `Go out, go out, O man of blood, and man of worthlessness!" ⁸ Yahweh has turned back on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead you have reigned, and Yahweh does give the kingdom in to the hand of Absalom your son; and lo, you [are] in your evil, for a man of blood you [are]..

⁴ When I called to Yahweh with my voice, Then He answered me from His holy mountain. {Interlude{ "

⁸ To Yahweh belongs the salvation; On Your people be Your blessing! {Interlude{ {Permanent, With Accompaniments{ "

² Sons of man, how long, turning my glory into mortification, Shall you love empty words and seek after a lie? {Interlude{ "

⁴ Be astounded, Yet do not sin; Commune in your heart on your bed, And be still. {Interlude{ "

⁷ All those seeing me deride me; They open up their lip in sneering; They wag their head, saying,

³ My tears were my bread by day and night, While they said to me the entire day, Where is your Elohim?

¹⁰ With murder against my bones, My foes reproached me, While they said to me the entire day, Where is your Elohim?

¹¹ Saying, Elohim Himself has forsaken him; Pursue and grasp him, for there is no rescuer."

³ Eloah is coming from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. INTERLUDE His splendor covers the heavens, and His praise fills the earth."

⁹ Your bow was verily naked; sworn are the rods by Your saying. INTERLUDE You are rending the earth with streams;

¹³ You fare forth for the salvation of Your people, for the salvation of Your anointed ones. You do transfix the head of the house of the wicked, razing the foundation unto the neck. INTERLUDE"

⁴² Others he saves! Himself he can not save! If he is king of Israel, let him descend now from the cross, and we will believe on him!" ⁴³ He has confidence in God. Let Him rescue him now, if He is wanting him, for he said that 'God's Son am I!'"

¹ After these matters came the word of Yahweh to Abram in a vision, saying, "You must not fear, Abram! I am your Shield, your exceedingly increased Hire.

¹³ In further three days Pharaoh will lift up your head, and restore you to your post, and you shall give Pharaoh's cup into his hand, according to the former custom, by which you became his cupbearer.

²⁹ Happy are you, Israel! Who is like you? A people saved by Yahweh, the Shield of your Helper, Who is also the Sword of your augustness! Your enemies shall dissimulate submission to you, yet you, you shall tread on their fane heights.

²⁷ And it comes to pass, in the thirty and seventh year of the removal of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the twenty and seventh of the month has Evil-Merodach king of Babylon lifted up, in the year of his reigning, the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, out of the house of restraint,

³ Now know that Yahweh has distinguished the benign one for Himself; Yahweh, He shall hear when I call to Him.

² O Yahweh, my Crag and my Fastness and my Deliverance! My El, my Rock! I take refuge in Him, My Shield and the Horn of my salvation, my Impregnable Retreat!"

⁶ Even now my head is being raised high over my enemies round about me, And I will sacrifice in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy. I will sing and make melody to Yahweh."

⁷ Yahweh is my Strength and my Shield; In Him has my heart trusted, And I have been helped So that my heart is joyous, And with my song am I acclaiming Him."

⁷ On Elohim rest my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in Elohim."

¹¹ For Sun and Shield is Yahweh Elohim; Grace and glory does Yahweh bestow; He does not withhold good from those walking with integrity.

⁷ He shall drink from the watercourse along the way; Therefore He shall hold His head high.

¹¹⁴ My Concealment and my Shield are You; I set my hope in Your word.

²⁵ In Yahweh shall they be just, and in Elohim all the seed of Israel shall boast."

¹⁹ No further, for you, is the sun coming to be for light by day, and for brightness the moon shall not give light to you at night. Yet Yahweh comes to be your light eonian, and your Elohim to be your beauty."

³² A Light for the revelation of nations, And the Glory of Thy people Israel."

¹¹ having the glory from God. Her luminosity is like a stone most precious, as a crystalline jasper gem,

²³ And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon, that they should be appearing in it, for the glory of God illuminates it, and its lamp is the Lambkin."

⁶ I will pour a libation on My King, On Zion, My holy mountain.

² My Elohim, I am calling by day, yet You are not answering, And by night, yet there is no stillness for me." ³ But You are holy, The One dwelling among the praises of Israel." ⁴ In You our fathers trusted; They trusted, and You delivered them." ⁵ To You they cried out, and they escaped; In You they trusted, and they were not put to shame."

⁴ I have sought after Yahweh, and He has answered me, And from all my shrinking fear He has rescued me."

⁶ This humbled one called, and Yahweh heard, And from all his distresses, He saved him."

³ Send Your light and Your truth; Let them guide me; Let them bring me to Your holy mountain And to Your Grand Tabernacle.

¹⁵ And call upon Me in the day of distress; I shall liberate you, and you shall glorify Me."

¹⁷ To Him I call with my mouth, And He is exalted with my tongue." ¹⁸ If I had regarded lawlessness in my heart, Yahweh would not hear." ¹⁹ But Elohim surely hears And attends to the sound of my prayer.

³ Be gracious to me, O Yahweh, For I am calling on You the entire day." ⁴ Rejoice the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Yahweh, am I lifting up my soul."

¹⁵ He shall call on Me, and I shall answer him; I am with him in distress; I shall liberate him and glorify him."

⁹ Exalt Yahweh our Elohim, And bow down at His holy mountain, For holy is Yahweh our Elohim."

¹ I love Him because Yahweh has heard My voice, my supplications;" ² For He has stretched out His ear to me, And I shall call on Him throughout all my days." ³ The cables of death have enveloped me, And the constrictions of the unseen, they have converged upon me; I found distress and affliction." ⁴ Then I called on the Name of Yahweh, Oh Yahweh, do make a way of escape for my soul."

¹ {A Song of Ascents{ From the depths I call out to You, O Yahweh;" ² O Yahweh, do hear my voice; Let Your ears be attentive To the sound of my supplications."

¹³ For Yahweh has chosen Zion; He yearns for it as His dwelling place: ¹⁴ This is My resting place unto the future; Here shall I dwell, for I yearn for it."

³ In the day I call, then You answer me; You make me dauntless with strength in my soul."

¹ {Contemplating, Davidic{ {When he was in the Cave; a Prayer{ With my voice am I crying out to Yahweh; With my voice am I supplicating to Yahweh." ² I am pouring out my concern before Him; My distress am I telling before Him. ³ When my spirit droops within me, Then it is You Yourself Who knows my tracks; In the path that I am walking, They have buried a snare for me."

²⁴ And it comes, ere they are calling, then I will answer; they are still speaking when I will hearken."

¹² `And you have called Me, and have gone, and have prayed unto Me, and I have hearkened unto you, ¹³ And you have sought Me, and have found, for you seek Me with all your heart;"

⁷ Request and it shall be given you. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you."

¹³ Is anyone suffering evil among you? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him play music.

⁶ I will give peace in the land, and you will lie down with no one making you tremble; I will eradicate the vicious animal from the land, and no sword shall pass through your land.

¹⁸ You will trust because there will be expectation; When you reconnoiter, you may lie down in trust. ¹⁹ When you recline, there will be no trembling, And many will beseech your face.

⁸ Let me lie down and sleep in peace at once. For You, O Yahweh, alone are causing me to dwell in serenity. {Permanent, Concerning the Allotments{ "

⁹ The One placing our souls among the living, And Who does not allow our feet to slip."

² Futile is it for you to rise early, And stay up late, Eating the bread of grievous labor; Yet so is He giving to His beloved in their sleep."

²⁴ Whenever you lie down you should not be afraid; Now you have lain down, and your sleep has been congenial."

²⁶ In the fear of Yahweh lies a strong ground of trust, And it shall become a refuge for his sons."

¹⁰ The name of Yahweh is a strong tower; The righteous one runs to it and is made impregnable.

³ It is formed to support the preservation of welfare, welfare that trusts in You."

⁶ Now when Herod was about to be leading him to them, in that night Peter was reposing between two soldiers, bound with two chains, besides which guards before the door kept the jail."

⁷ and smitten there are the people of Israel before the servants of David, and the smiting there is great on that day--twenty thousand;"

¹⁵ And the servant of the man of Elohim rises early, and goes out, and lo, a force is surrounding the city, and horse and chariot, and his young man said unto him, `Alas! my lord, how do we do?. <sup>16</sup> And he said, `Fear not, for more [are] they who [are] with us than they who [are] with them.. ¹⁷ And Elisha prays, and said, `Yahweh, open, I pray You, his eyes, and he does see;' and Yahweh opens the eyes of the young man, and he sees, and lo, the hill is full of horses and chariots of fire, round about Elisha.

² The kings of the earth are standing by, And the chancellors are gathered together Against Yahweh and against His Anointed, saying,

⁴ Even though I should walk in the ravine of blackest shadow, I shall not fear evil, For You are with me; Your club and Your staff, they are comforting me."

¹ {Davidic{ Yahweh is my Light and my Salvation; Whom should I fear? Yahweh is the Stronghold of my life; Of whom should I be afraid? ² When evildoers drew near against me To devour my flesh, They who were to me my foes and my enemies, They stumbled and fell." ³ Though an armed force should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war should rise up against me, In spite of this I am trusting."

² Therefore, we shall not fear when the earth is made to change, Or when the mountains slide into the heart of the seas."

⁷ Yahweh of hosts is with us; Our Impregnable Retreat is the Elohim of Jacob. {Interlude{

¹⁰ All nations, they have surrounded me; It was with the Name of Yahweh That I cut them off." ¹¹ They surrounded me; indeed they surrounded me; It was with the Name of Yahweh That I cut them off. ¹² They surrounded me like bees; They were extinguished like a fire of thorns. It was with the Name of Yahweh That I cut them off.

³¹ What then, shall we declare to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

¹⁰ Men gape at me with their mouth; In reproach they smite my cheeks; They mass themselves together against me.

¹⁷ I would break the fangs of the iniquitous And would fling the prey from his teeth.

⁴ Do return, O Yahweh! Do extricate my soul! Save me on account of Your benignity.

⁶ Do arise, O Yahweh, in Your anger, Lift up Yourself against the rages of my foes; Do rouse for me the judgment You have determined.

¹² Do arise, O Yahweh! O El, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the humble.

⁵ Because of the devastation of the humbled, Because of the groaning of the needy, Now I shall arise, says Yahweh; I shall set him in safety; I shall shine forth for him.

²³ Do rouse; do awake for my due, My Elohim and my Lord, for my cause."

²³ Do rouse! Why do You sleep, O Yahweh? Do awake! Do not cast us off permanently."

⁶ O Elohim, demolish their teeth in their mouth; Wrench out the fangs of the sheltered lions, O Yahweh."

⁵ Yea, You, O Yahweh Elohim of hosts, Elohim of Israel, Do awake to call all the nations to account; O do not be gracious to any who are treacherous with lawlessness. {Interlude{ "

¹¹ Why are You turning back Your hand, even Your right hand? Take it from within Your bosom and finish them."

⁹ When Elohim rose for judgment, To save all the humbled of the earth. {Interlude{ "

⁹ Rouse! Rouse! Clothe yourself with strength, arm of Yahweh! Rouse as in days aforetime, the generations of the eons! Are not You He, the Hewer of the audacious, the Wounder of the monster?

³⁰ Let him give his cheek to his smiter; let him be surfeited with reproach.

¹⁹ Woe to him saying to the wood, Awake! Rouse! To the still stone, Be exalted! It is an apparition; behold it overspread with gold and silver, yet there is no spirit at all within it."

¹¹ Yahweh, strength shall He give to His people; Yahweh, He shall bless His people with peace."

³⁹ The salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh, Their Stronghold in a season of distress." ⁴⁰ And Yahweh shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked and save them, For they took refuge in Him."

¹⁷ His Name shall remain for the eon; Before the sun shall His Name be propagated, And all nations shall bless themselves in Him and call Him happy."

³¹ A horse is prepared for the day of battle, Yet the victory belongs to Yahweh."

¹¹ I, I, Yahweh am El! And there is no Saviour apart from Me."

²¹ Tell, and bring them close. Indeed, they shall consult together. Who announced this from aforetime? Hitherto, Who told it? Not I, Yahweh? And no one else is Elohim, apart from Me. An El, just, and a Saviour. And none is there, except Me." ²² Face to Me and be saved, all the limits of the earth, for I am El, and there is none else."

²³ Surely in vain from the heights, The multitude of mountains--Surely in Yahweh our Elohim [is] the salvation of Israel."

⁴ And I am Yahweh, your Elohim, Who establishes the heavens and creates the earth, Whose hands created all the host of the heavens. Yet I did not show them to you that you should go after them, when I brought you up from the land of Egypt. You will not know an elohim except Me, and there is no Saviour, unless it is I."

⁹ Yet let me, with the voice of praise and acclamation, sacrifice to You; let me repay to You that which I vowed. Salvation is of Yahweh."

²⁶ To you first, God, raising His Boy, commissions Him to bless you by turning away each of you from your wickedness."

¹² And there is no salvation in any other one, for neither is there any other name, given under heaven among men, in which we must be saved."

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who blesses us with every spiritual blessing among the celestials, in Christ,

¹⁴ saying, "If, in sooth, it is blessing, I shall be blessing you, and multiplying, I shall be multiplyingyou!"

⁹ not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but, on the contrary, blessing, seeing that you were called for this, that you should be enjoying the allotment of blessing,

¹⁰ And they are crying with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation be our God's, Who is sitting on the throne, And the Lambkin's!"

¹ After these things I hear as it were the loud voice of a vast throng in heaven, saying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power is of our God,
