A Psalm of David. ¶ My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me and from the words of my cry?

⁶ Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you.

²⁴ And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.

⁵³ And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently and to provoke him to speak of many things, ⁵⁴ laying wait for him and seeking to catch something out of his mouth that they might accuse him.

⁶³ ¶ And the men that held Jesus mocked him and smote him. ⁶⁴ And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee? ⁶⁵ And they spoke many other things blasphemously against him. ⁶⁶ And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the princes of the priests and the scribes came together and led him into their council, saying, ⁶⁷ Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe; ⁶⁸ and if I also ask you, ye will not answer me nor let me go; ⁶⁹ but from now on the Son of man shall sit on the right hand of the power of God. ⁷⁰ Then they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I AM. ⁷¹ And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

⁴ Then said Pilate to the princes of the priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man. ⁵ And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.

¹⁰ And the princes of the priests and the scribes stood and vehemently accused him. ¹¹ And Herod with his court despised him and mocked him and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe and sent him again to Pilate.

²³ And they insisted with loud voices, asking that he be crucified. And the voices of them and of the princes of the priests prevailed.

³³ And when they were come to the place, which is called of the Skull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

²³ Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts (to each soldier a part); and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

²⁵ The other disciples, therefore, said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Unless I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

²⁷ Then he said to Thomas, Reach here thy finger and behold my hands and reach here thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not unbelieving, but faithful.

² Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

¹⁵ But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the fornicators and the murderers and the idolaters and whosoever loves and makes a lie.
