² Examine me, O LORD and prove me; melt my kidneys and my heart.

²³ ¶ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.

⁴ Does he not see my ways and count all my steps? ⁵ If I have walked with falsehood or if my foot has hastened to deceit, ⁶ let me be weighed in a just balance, that God may know my integrity.

⁹ Let wickedness consume the wicked; but establish the just: for the righteous God is he who tries the hearts and kidneys.

³ Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast refined me and hast found no iniquity; that which I thought did not pass through my mouth.

¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proved us; thou hast refined us as silver is refined.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts ²⁴ and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way eternal.
