¹ And the sons of Israel, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month and the people abode in Kadesh. And Miriam died there and was buried there.
² And there was no water for the congregation and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. ³ And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying, Would that we had died when our brothers died before Jehovah! ⁴ And why have you* brought the assembly of Jehovah into this wilderness, that we should die there, we and our beasts? ⁵ And why have you* made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in to this evil place? It is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates, neither is there any water to drink. ⁶ And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tent of meeting and fell upon their faces. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to them.
⁷ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, ⁸ Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water and you will bring forth water to them out of the rock. So you will give the congregation and their cattle drink. ⁹ And Moses took the rod from before Jehovah, as he commanded him.
¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock and he said to them, Hear now, you* rebels. Shall we bring forth water to you* out of this rock? ¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand and killed* the rock with his rod twice and water came out abundantly. And the congregation drank and their cattle.
¹² And Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron, Because you* did not believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you* will not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them. ¹³ These are the waters of Meribah, because the sons of Israel contend with Jehovah and he was made holy in them.
¹⁴ And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the King of Edom, Thus says your brother Israel, You know all the travail that has befallen us, ¹⁵ how our fathers went down into Egypt and we dwelt in Egypt a long time. And the Egyptians dealt ill with us and our fathers. ¹⁶ And when we cried to Jehovah, he heard our voice and sent a messenger and brought us forth out of Egypt. And behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the outermost of your border. ¹⁷ I beseech you, let us pass through your land. We will not pass through field or through vineyard, neither will we drink of the water of the wells. We will go along the king's highway. We will not turn aside to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed your border.
¹⁸ And Edom said to him, You will not pass through me, lest I come out with the sword against you. ¹⁹ And the sons of Israel said to him, We will go up by the highway. And if we drink of your water, I and my cattle, then will I give the price of it. Only let me, without doing anything, pass through on my feet. ²⁰ And he said, You will not pass through. And Edom came out against him with many people and with a strong hand.
²¹ Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border. Therefore Israel turned away from him. ²² And they journeyed from Kadesh and the sons of Israel, even the whole congregation, came to Mount Hor.
²³ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom, saying, ²⁴ Aaron will be gathered to his people, for he will not enter into the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because you* rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah. ²⁵ Take Aaron and Eleazar his son and bring them up to Mount Hor, ²⁶ and strip Aaron of his garments and put them upon Eleazar his son. And Aaron will be gathered and will die there.
²⁷ And Moses did as Jehovah commanded. And they went up into Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. ²⁸ And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them upon Eleazar his son. And Aaron died there on the top of the mountain and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain. ²⁹ And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they wept for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

⁴ And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him.

⁷ Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?

²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

¹ And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married, for he had married a Cushite woman.

¹⁰ And the cloud removed from over the tent. And behold, Miriam was leprous, as snow. And Aaron looked upon Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.

¹⁵ And Miriam was shut up outside the camp seven days. And the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

²¹ So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.

¹⁶ And when we cried to Jehovah, he heard our voice and sent a messenger and brought us forth out of Egypt. And behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the outermost of your border.

⁵⁹ And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt. And she bore to Amram, Aaron and Moses and Miriam their sister.

¹⁴ because you* rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes. (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)

³⁶ And they journeyed from Ezion-geber and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (what is Kadesh).

²² And you* came near to me, all of you* and said, Let us send men before us, that they may search the land for us and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up and the cities to which we will come. ²³ And the thing pleased me well. And I took twelve men of you*, one man for every tribe.

¹⁴ And the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we came over the brook Zered, were thirty-eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah swore to them.

⁵¹ because you* trespassed against me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you* did not sanctify me in the midst of the sons of Israel.

⁸ The voice of Jehovah shakes the wilderness. Jehovah shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. And I sent before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam.

²³ And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, because they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah.
²⁴ And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What will we drink?

² And the whole congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness.

⁷ and in the morning, then you* will see the glory of Jehovah, because he hears your* murmurings against Jehovah. And what are we, that you* murmur against us?

¹² I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel. Speak to them, saying, At evening you* will eat flesh and in the morning you* will be filled with bread. And you* will know that I am Jehovah your* God.

¹ And all the congregation of the sons of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, by their journeys, according to the commandment of Jehovah and encamped in Rephidim. And there was no water for the people to drink. ² Therefore the people contended with Moses and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said to them, Why do you* contend with me? Why do you* challenge Jehovah? ³ And the people thirsted there for water. And the people murmured against Moses and said, Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our sons and our cattle with thirst? ⁴ And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, What shall I do to this people? They are almost ready to stone me.

¹ And the people were as complainers, speaking evil in the ears of Jehovah. And when Jehovah heard it, his anger was kindled and the fire of Jehovah burnt among them and devoured in the outermost part of the camp. ² And the people cried to Moses. And Moses prayed to Jehovah and the fire abated. ³ And the name of that place was called Taberah, because the fire of Jehovah burnt among them.
⁴ And the mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly. And the sons of Israel also wept again and said, Who will give us flesh to eat? ⁵ We remember the fish which we ate in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic, ⁶ but now our soul is dried away. There is nothing at all except this manna to look upon.

³ and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said to them, You* take too much upon you*, since all the congregation are holy, every one of them and Jehovah is among them. Why then do you* lift up yourselves above the assembly of Jehovah?

¹⁹ And Korah assembled all the congregation against them to the door of the tent of meeting. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the congregation.

⁴² And it happened, when the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting, and behold, the cloud covered it and the glory of Jehovah appeared.

⁵ And the people spoke against God and against Moses, Why have you* brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread and there is no water and our soul loathes this light bread.

¹⁰ Nor murmur, like some of them also murmured, and perished by the destroyer. ¹¹ Now all these things are examples which were befalling to those Jews, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have arrived.

² And the whole congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness. ³ And the sons of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full, because you* have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

² Therefore the people contended with Moses and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said to them, Why do you* contend with me? Why do you* challenge Jehovah?

¹ And the people were as complainers, speaking evil in the ears of Jehovah. And when Jehovah heard it, his anger was kindled and the fire of Jehovah burnt among them and devoured in the outermost part of the camp.

³³ While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of Jehovah was kindled against the people and Jehovah killed* the people with a very great plague. ³⁴ And the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who lusted.

¹ And all the congregation lifted up their voice and cried and the people wept that night. ² And all the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. And the whole congregation said to them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt, or would that we had died in this wilderness!

³⁶ And the men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation to murmur against him by bringing up an evil report against the land, ³⁷ even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Jehovah.

³¹ And it happened, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split asunder that was under them, ³² and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up and their households and all the men that pertained to Korah and all their goods. ³³ So they and all that pertained to them, went down alive into Sheol. And the earth closed upon them and they perished from among the assembly.
³⁴ And all Israel that were all around them fled at the cry of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up. ³⁵ And fire came out from Jehovah and devoured the two hundred and fifty men who offered the incense.

⁴⁹ Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides those who died about the matter of Korah.

¹⁰ Because it did not shut up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hide trouble from my eyes.
¹¹ Why did I not die from the womb? Why did I not give up the spirit when my mother bore me?

⁹ Those who are slain with the sword are better than those who are slain with hunger, for these are a flowing away, stricken through, for want of the fruits of the field.

²¹ and they said to them, Jehovah look upon you* and judge, because you* have made our fragrance to be stink in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill* us.

¹¹ And they said to Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt thus with us, to bring us forth out of Egypt? ¹² Is not this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it were better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

³ And the sons of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full, because you* have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

³ And the people thirsted there for water. And the people murmured against Moses and said, Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our sons and our cattle with thirst?

⁵ We remember the fish which we ate in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers and the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic,

¹³ Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must make yourself also a ruler over us? ¹⁴ Moreover you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.

⁴¹ But on the morrow all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, You* have killed the people of Jehovah.

²¹ They forgot God their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,

³⁵ This Moses whom they deny, having said, Who designated you a ruler and a justice? God sent this one as a ruler and a redeemer by the hand of the messenger who was seen by him in the bush.

³⁹ to whom our fathers willed not to become obedient, but thrust him from themselves and turned back to Egypt in their hearts, ⁴⁰ saying to Aaron, Make us gods that will travel before us. For this Moses, who led us forth out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.

¹⁴ Moreover you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.

¹⁵ who led you through the great and terrible wilderness–fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where was no water–who brought you forth water out of the rock of flint,

²¹ Yes, forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing; their clothes did not grow old and their feet did not swell.

² Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Jehovah says thus, I remember for you the kindness of your youth, the love of your espousals, how you went after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

⁶ Nor did they say, Where is Jehovah who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that none passed through and where no man dwelt?

³⁶ Just as I entered into judgment with your* fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you*, says the lord Jehovah.

¹⁰ And it happened, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of Jehovah appeared in the cloud.

⁴ And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, What shall I do to this people? They are almost ready to stone me.

⁵ And Jehovah came down in a pillar of cloud and stood at the door of the tent and called Aaron and Miriam. And they both came forth.

⁵ Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel.

¹⁰ But all the congregation commanded, stone them with stones. And the glory of Jehovah appeared in the tent of meeting to all the sons of Israel.

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face.

²² And they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, will one man sin and will you be angry with all the congregation?

⁴⁵ You* get up from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

⁶ And Joshua tore his clothes and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of Jehovah until the evening, he and the elders of Israel and they put dust upon their heads.

¹⁶ And David lifted up his eyes and saw the messenger of Jehovah standing between earth and heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

³ They have also encompassed me about with words of hatred and fought against me without a cause.
⁴ They are my adversaries instead of my love, but I make prayer.

³⁹ And when he went a little more, he fell upon his face and prayed, saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; however, not as I will, but as you will.

¹⁴ Is anything too hard for Jehovah? At the set time I will return to you, when the season comes round and Sarah will have a son.

² And Jehovah said to him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod.

¹⁷ And you will take this rod in your hand, with which you will do the signs.

²⁰ And Moses took his wife and his sons and set them upon a donkey and he returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

²⁰ And Moses and Aaron did so, as Jehovah commanded. And he lifted up the rod and killed* the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

¹⁶ And lift you up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it and the sons of Israel will go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.

⁵ And Jehovah said to Moses, Pass on before the people and take with you from the elders of Israel and your rod, with which you killed* the river, take in your hand and go. ⁶ Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb and you will kill* the rock and there will come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

⁹ And Moses said to Joshua, Choose us out men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.

¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand and killed* the rock with his rod twice and water came out abundantly. And the congregation drank and their cattle.

¹⁵ and the slope of the valleys that inclines toward the dwelling of Ar and leans upon the border of Moab.

¹⁸ the well, which the rulers dug, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter, and with their staves. And from the wilderness they journeyed to Mattanah,

⁵ And it will be, that, when they make a prolonged blast with the ram's horn and when you* hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people will shout with a great shout. And the wall of the city will fall down flat and the people will go up every man straight before him.

²⁰ So the people shouted and the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him and they took the city.

¹⁵ And you gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and brought out water for them out of the rock for their thirst and commanded them that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.

⁹ Because he spoke and it was done. He commanded and it stood fast.

¹⁵ He split rocks in the wilderness and gave them to drink abundantly as out of the depths.
¹⁶ He brought streams also out of the rock and caused waters to run down like rivers.

⁴¹ He opened the rock and waters gushed out. They ran in the dry places like a river.

⁸ who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

¹⁷ The poor and needy seek water and there is none and their tongue fails for thirst. I, Jehovah, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. ¹⁸ I will open rivers on the bare heights and fountains in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water and the dry land springs of water.

²⁰ The beasts of the field will honor me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

²¹ And they did not thirst when he led them through the deserts. He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them. He also split the rock and the waters gushed out.

²¹ Now Jesus answered and said to them, Assuredly I am saying to you, If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only be doing the miracle of the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be lifted up and cast yourself into the sea, it will happen.

²² And Jesus answered and says to them, Have faith of God. ²³ For assuredly I am saying to you, Whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and be cast into the sea, and should not doubt in his heart, but should believe that what he says happens; whatever he says will be to him. ²⁴ Because of this, I am saying to you, All things, as many things as you may ask for when praying, believe that you receive them and you will have them.

¹³ Therefore if you, being evil, know how to give good presents to your children, how much more will your Father from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is that says to you, Give to me some water to drink; you would have asked him, and he would have given living water to you.
¹¹ The woman says to him, Lord, you have no bucket and the well is deep. Therefore from where do you have the living water? ¹² You are not greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank out of it himself and his sons and his livestock, are you?
¹³ Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks from this water will be thirsty again ¹⁴ but whoever is drinking from the water that I will be giving him may never be thirsty, but the water that I will be giving him will become in him a well of water leaping up to everlasting life.

²⁴ Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, in order that your joy may be fulfilled.

¹⁴ All these men together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus and together with his brethren were persevering, united in prayer and supplication.

¹ And while the day of Pentecost was being fulfilled, they were united in the same place. \ulnone\nosupersub ² And suddenly there became a noise from heaven just-like the bringing of a violent wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. ³ And there appeared to them, divided tongues, like fire, and it sat upon each one of them. ⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, just-as the Spirit was giving to them to speak out.

¹ And he showed me a river of the clean water of life, bright like crystal, traveling out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride are saying, Come. And he who hears, let him say, Come. And he who is thirsty, let him come. He who wills, let him take the water of life freely.

¹⁰ And Jehovah said to Moses, Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a sign against the sons of rebellion, that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, that they not die.

⁸ And they said to him, We have dreamed a dream and there is no man who can interpret it.
And Joseph said to them, Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell it to me, I beseech you*.

¹⁶ And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me. God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

²² Shall flocks and herds be slain for them, to suffice them? Or will all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?
²³ And Jehovah said to Moses, Is Jehovah's hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not.

²⁴ You* have been rebellious against Jehovah from the day that I knew you*.

³² They also angered him at the waters of Meribah, so that it went ill with Moses because of them, ³³ because they were rebellious against his spirit and he spoke ill-advisedly with his lips.

²⁸ but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets. And he has made known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.
Your dream and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these: ²⁹ As for you, O king, your thoughts came upon your bed, what should happen hereafter. And he who reveals secrets has made known to you what will happen.
³⁰ But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living man, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king and that you may know the thoughts of your heart.

²² But I say to you, that everyone who is vainly angry to ward his brother will be liable to the judgment, and whoever says to his brother, You, empty-head, will be liable to the council, but whoever says, You fool, will be liable to the hell of fire.
{Vainly can be: with emptiness (without cause or reason; i.e. to further one's own vanity)}

{Empty-head is an expression of contempt. The Greek here could be simply ‘fool’said as an expression of condemnation or could be a transliteration of ‘Moreh’which is a Hebrew expression of condemnation. In Mat 5:22 the wording doesn’t matter; it’s the way it is said or meant.}

⁵⁴ Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, do you will that we should tell the fire to come down from heaven and consume them as Elisha also did?
⁵⁵ But he turned and rebuked them, and said, You do not know of what spirit you are.

⁹ This one heard Paul speaking, who, having stared at him and seeing that he had faith to be cured, ¹⁰ said with a loud voice, Stand correctly upon your feet. And he was leaping up and walking.
¹¹ Now when the crowd saw what Paul did, they lifted up their voice, saying in Lycaonian, The gods, who are similar to men, have come down to us. ¹² And indeed, they were calling Barnabas, Zeus; but Paul, Hermes, since he was the leader of the speech. ¹³ Now the priest of Zeus, whose temple was before their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates and were wishing to sacrifice them together with the crowds.
¹⁴ But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard it, they ripped their garments and dashed into the crowd, crying out ¹⁵ and saying, Men! Why are you doing these things? We are also human, of like-feelings with you and are proclaiming the good-news to you : to turn away from these futile things to the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things in them;

³ Then Paul said to him, God is about to beat you, the whitewashed wall. And you sit judging me according to the law, and yet violating the law, you are commanding me to be beaten.
⁴ But those who are standing beside him said, Are you reviling God’s high-priest?
⁵ And Paul said, Brethren, I did not know that he was the high-priest; for it has been written, ‘You will not speak evilly of a ruler of your people.’

¹⁷ Therefore, I have my boasting in Christ Jesus in the things pertaining to God. ¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of anything of the things which Christ did not work through me, except for the obedience of the Gentiles, in word and works, ¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God. So-then, I have fulfilled the good-news of the Christ from Jerusalem and in a circle, as far as Illyricum.

⁷ So-then neither is the one who is planting anything, nor the one who is watering, but God who is causing the growth.

²⁶ ‘Be angry and do not sin.’Do not let the sun set upon your anger,

² For we all trip in many things. If anyone does not trip in speech, this one is a mature man, is also able to bridle the whole body.

⁶ Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb and you will kill* the rock and there will come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

¹ And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each of them took his censer and put fire in it and laid incense on it and offered strange fire before Jehovah, which he had not commanded them.

⁸ Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water and you will bring forth water to them out of the rock. So you will give the congregation and their cattle drink.

¹³ And Samuel came to Saul. And Saul said to him, You are blessed of Jehovah. I have performed the commandment of Jehovah. ¹⁴ And Samuel said, What then means this voice of the sheep in my ears and the voice of the oxen which I hear?

¹⁹ Why then did you not obey the voice of Jehovah, but did fly upon the spoil and did what was evil in the sight of Jehovah?

²⁴ And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

²¹ And he cried out to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, Jehovah says thus, Forasmuch as you have been disobedient to the mouth of Jehovah and have not kept the commandment which Jehovah your God commanded you, ²² but came back and have eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which he said to you, Eat no bread and drink no water, your body will not come to the sepulcher of your fathers. ²³ And it happened, after he had eaten bread and after he had drunk, that he saddled the donkey for him, namely, for the prophet whom he had brought back. ²⁴ And when he had gone, a lion met him by the way and killed him. And his body was cast in the way and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the body.

⁹ And when they came to the threshing-floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled. ¹⁰ And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Uzza and he killed* him because he put forth his hand to the ark. And there he died before God.

² Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites, for Jehovah has chosen them to carry the ark of God and to minister to him until everlasting.

¹³ For because you* did not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, because we did not seek him according to the ordinance.

¹⁶ He brought streams also out of the rock and caused waters to run down like rivers.

⁵ I knew you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, as many things as I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the earth.
Amen.

⁴ and all were drinking the same spiritual drink; for they were drinking from a spiritual rock following them, and the rock was the Christ.

²⁰ For the wrath of man is not working out the righteousness of God.

³ Then Moses said to Aaron, This is it that Jehovah spoke, saying, I will be made holy by those who come near me. And I will be glorified before all the people. And Aaron remained silent.

¹⁵ And if you deal thus with me, I beseech you, kill me out of hand, if I have found favor in your sight and do not let me see my wretchedness.

²¹ And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen and you have said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. ²² Shall flocks and herds be slain for them, to suffice them? Or will all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?

²⁴ Aaron will be gathered to his people, for he will not enter into the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because you* rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.

³⁷ Also Jehovah was angry with me for your* sakes, saying, You also will not go in there.

²³ And I besought Jehovah at that time, saying, ²⁴ O lord Jehovah, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your strong hand, for what god is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to your works and according to your mighty acts? ²⁵ Let me go over, I beseech you and see the good land that is beyond the Jordan, that pleasant mountain and Lebanon.
²⁶ But Jehovah was angry with me because of you* and did not listen to me. And Jehovah said to me, It will be enough for you. Speak no more to me of this matter. ²⁷ You get up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward and behold with your eyes, for you will not go over this Jordan.

⁴⁹ You get up onto this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is opposite Jericho and behold the land of Canaan, which I give to the sons of Israel for a possession. ⁵⁰ And die on the mountain where you go up and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered to his people, ⁵¹ because you* trespassed against me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah of Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin, because you* did not sanctify me in the midst of the sons of Israel.

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, saying, I will give it to your seed. I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you will not go over there.

² Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I give to them, even to the sons of Israel.

²⁰ And they rose early in the morning and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa. And as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah and you* inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in Jehovah your* God, so you* will be established. Believe his prophets, so you* will prosper.

⁹ And the head of Ephraim is Samaria and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you* will not believe, surely you* will not be established.

¹³ Jehovah of hosts, him you* will sanctify and let him be your* fear and let him be your* dread.

⁴¹ I will accept you* as a sweet aroma when I bring you* out from the peoples and gather you* out of the countries in which you* have been scattered. And I will be made holy in you* in the sight of the nations.

²³ And I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you* have profaned in the midst of them.
And the nations will know that I am Jehovah, says the lord Jehovah, when I will be made holy in you* before their eyes.

¹⁰ The lord Jehovah says thus: It will happen in that day, that things will come into your mind and you will devise an evil plan.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered and said, O unbelieving and perverse generation, until when shall I be with you? Until when shall I tolerate you? Bring him here to me.

²⁰ Now Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For assuredly I am saying to you, If you have faith like a kernel of a mustard-seed, you will say to this mountain, Proceed from here to over there, and it will proceed, and nothing will be impossible for you.

²⁰ And behold, you will be silent and not able to speak, till the day that these things should happen, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.

⁴⁵ And she who believed is fortunate, because there will be a completion of the things which have been spoken to her from the Lord.

¹⁷ Because the law was given through Moses; the favor and the truth became through Jesus Christ.

²⁰ But he did not doubt through unbelief at the promise of God, but became empowered through faith, having given glory to God,

¹⁵ but make the Lord God holy in your hearts, and be ready habitually with a defense to everyone who is asking you for a reason concerning the hope which is in you, with meekness and fear;

⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contending of the sons of Israel and because they challenged Jehovah, saying, Is Jehovah among us, or not?

⁸ And of Levi he said, Your Thummim and your Urim are with your holy man, whom you proved at Massah, with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah,

⁸ Harden not your* heart, as in the provocation, as the day of trial in the wilderness,

³² They also angered him at the waters of Meribah, so that it went ill with Moses because of them, ³³ because they were rebellious against his spirit and he spoke ill-advisedly with his lips.
³⁴ They did not destroy the peoples, as Jehovah commanded them, ³⁵ but mingled themselves with the nations and learned their works, ³⁶ and served their idols, which became a snare to them.
³⁷ Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, ³⁸ and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. And the land was polluted with blood.
³⁹ Thus they were defiled with their works and played the prostitute in their practices.
⁴⁰ Therefore the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against his people and he detested his inheritance. ⁴¹ And he gave them into the hand of the nations. And those who hated them, ruled over them. ⁴² Their enemies also oppressed them and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
⁴³ Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel and were brought low in their iniquity.
⁴⁴ Nevertheless he regarded their distress when he heard their cry. ⁴⁵ And he remembered his covenant for them and relented according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses. ⁴⁶ He also made them to be pitied by all those who carried them captive.
⁴⁷ Save us, O Jehovah our God and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to your holy name and to triumph in your praise.
⁴⁸ Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, Truly. Praise Jehovah.

¹⁶ but Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice and God the Holy One is made holy in righteousness.

¹⁶ And you will come up against my people Israel, as a cloud to cover the land. It will happen in the latter days, that I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when I will be made holy in you, O Gog, before their eyes.

³ And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother to the land of Seir, the field of Edom. ⁴ And he commanded them, saying, Thus you* will say to my lord Esau, Thus says your servant Jacob, I have traveled with Laban and stayed until now.

³¹ And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the sons of Israel. ³² And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom and the name of his city was Dinhabah. ³³ And Bela died and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned instead of him. ³⁴ And Jobab died and Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned instead of him. ³⁵ And Husham died and Hadad the son of Bedad, who killed* Midian in the field of Moab, reigned instead of him. And the name of his city was Avith. ³⁶ And Hadad died and Samlah from Masrekah reigned instead of him. ³⁷ And Samlah died and Shaul of Rehoboth by the Euphrates River reigned instead of him. ³⁸ And Shaul died and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned instead of him. ³⁹ And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died and Hadar reigned instead of him. And the name of his city was Pau and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.

⁸ And Moses told his father-in-law all that Jehovah had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, all the travail that had come upon them by the way and how Jehovah delivered them.

⁴ And command you the people, saying, You* are to pass through the border of your* brothers the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir and they will be afraid of you*. You* take good heed to yourselves therefore.
⁵ Do not contend with them, for I will not give you* of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession. ⁶ You* will purchase food from them for money, that you* may eat and you* will also buy water from them for money, that you* may drink. ⁷ For Jehovah your God has blessed you in all the work of your hand. He has known your walking through this great wilderness. These forty years Jehovah your God has been with you; you have lacked nothing.
⁸ So we passed by from our brothers the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion-geber. And we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab. ⁹ And Jehovah said to me, Do not harass Moab, neither contend with them in battle, for I will not give to you of his land for a possession, because I have given Ar to the sons of Lot for a possession.
¹⁰ (The Emim dwelt in it formerly, a people great and many and tall, as the Anakim. ¹¹ These also are accounted Rephaim, as the Anakim, but the Moabites call them Emim. ¹² The Horites also dwelt in Seir formerly, but the sons of Esau succeeded them. And they destroyed them from before them and dwelt in their stead, as Israel did to the land of his possession, which Jehovah gave to them.)
¹³ Now rise up and you* get over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered. ¹⁴ And the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we came over the brook Zered, were thirty-eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah swore to them. ¹⁵ Moreover the hand of Jehovah was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.
¹⁶ So it happened, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people, ¹⁷ that Jehovah spoke to me, saying, ¹⁸ You are this day to pass over Ar, the border of Moab. ¹⁹ And when you come near opposite the sons of Ammon, do not harass them, nor contend with them, for I will not give you of the land of the sons of Ammon for a possession, because I have given it to the sons of Lot for a possession.
²⁰ (That also is accounted a land of Rephaim. Rephaim dwelt in it formerly, but the Ammonites call them Zamzummim, ²¹ a people great and many and tall, as the Anakim. But Jehovah destroyed them before them and they succeeded them and dwelt in their stead, ²² as he did for the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them. And they succeeded them and dwelt in their stead even to this day. ²³ And the Avvim, who dwelt in villages as far as Gaza, the Caphtorim, who came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them and dwelt in their stead.)
²⁴ Rise you* up, take your* journey and pass over the valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, King of Heshbon and his land. Begin to possess it and contend with him in battle. ²⁵ This day I will begin to put the dread of you and the fear of you upon the peoples who are under the whole heaven, who will hear the report of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.

⁷ You will not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother. You will not abhor an Egyptian, because you were a traveler in his land.

⁹ And they said to him, From a very far country. Your servants have come because of the name of Jehovah your God, for we have heard the fame of him and all that he did in Egypt,

¹⁶ but when they came up from Egypt and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh, ¹⁷ then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, I beseech you, let me pass through your land, but the king of Edom did not listen. And in like manner he sent to the king of Moab, but he would not. And Israel abode in Kadesh.

¹⁰ Shame will cover you for the violence done to your brother Jacob and you will be cut off everlasting. ¹¹ In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance and foreigners entered into his gates and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even you were as one of them.
¹² But do not look on the day of your brother in the day of his disaster and rejoice not over the sons of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor speak proudly in the day of distress.

² I have loved you*, says Jehovah. Yet you* say, How have you loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother, says Jehovah. Yet I loved Jacob,

¹³ And God said to Abram, Know of a certainty that your seed will be travelers in a land that is not theirs. And your seed will serve them and they will afflict them for four hundred years.

⁶ And they took up their goods and all their property, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, they came into the land of Egypt, Jacob and all his seed with him:

¹¹ Therefore they set forced-labor managers over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built store-cities for Pharaoh which were Pithom and Raameses. ¹² But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out. And they were grieved because of the sons of Israel.
¹³ And the Egyptians made the sons of Israel to serve with rigor. ¹⁴ And they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick and in all manner of service in the field, all their service, with which they made them serve with rigor.

¹⁶ And he said, When you* do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women and see them upon the stool, if it is a son, then you* will kill him, but if it is a daughter, then she will live.

²² And Pharaoh ordered all his people, saying, Every son that is born you* will cast into the river and every daughter you* will save alive.

¹⁴ And the officers of the sons of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and demanded, Why have you* not fulfilled your* task both yesterday and today, in making brick as formerly?

⁴⁰ Now the time that the sons of Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan was four hundred and thirty years.

¹³ Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must make yourself also a ruler over us?

⁶ And the Egyptians dealt ill with us and afflicted us and laid upon us hard bondage.

¹⁵ Now Jacob went down into Egypt and is dead, he himself and our fathers;

¹⁹ This one dealt craftily with our race and mistreated our fathers, making them place their babies outside in the elements, that they might not live.

²³ And it happened in the course of those many days, that the King of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage and they cried and their cry came up to God because of the bondage. ²⁴ And God heard their groaning and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.

² And the messenger of Jehovah appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. And he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire and the bush was not consumed. ³ And Moses said, I will turn aside now and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
⁴ And when Jehovah saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here I am. ⁵ And he said, Do not draw near here. Put off your shoes from your feet, because the place on which you stand is holy ground. ⁶ Moreover he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look upon God.
⁷ And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, because I know their sorrows. ⁸ And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanite and the Hittite and the Amorite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.
⁹ And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to me. Moreover I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

⁵ And moreover I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage and I have remembered my covenant.

¹⁰ And when Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them and they were very afraid. And the sons of Israel cried out to Jehovah.

¹⁹ And the messenger of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.

²⁰ Behold, I send a messenger before you, to keep you by the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

² And I will send a messenger before you and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite–

¹ And the Canaanite, the King of Arad, who dwelt in the South, heard tell that Israel came by the way of Atharim and he fought against Israel and took some of them captive.

²² Let me pass through your land. We will not turn aside into field, or into vineyard. We will not drink of the water of the wells. We will go by the king's highway, until we have passed your border. ²³ And Sihon would not allow Israel to pass through his border, but Sihon gathered all his people together and went out against Israel into the wilderness and came to Jahaz and he fought against Israel.
²⁴ And Israel killed* him with the edge of the sword and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even to the sons of Ammon, for the border of the sons of Ammon was strong.

¹ Then we turned and took our journey into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea, as Jehovah spoke to me. And we encompassed Mount Seir many days.
² And Jehovah spoke to me, saying, ³ You* have encompassed this mountain long enough, turn northward. ⁴ And command you the people, saying, You* are to pass through the border of your* brothers the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir and they will be afraid of you*. You* take good heed to yourselves therefore.

²⁷ Let me pass through your land. I will go along by the highway, I will turn neither to the right hand nor to the left.

²⁹ as the sons of Esau who dwell in Seir and the Moabites who dwell in Ar, did to me, until I will pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovah our God gives us.

³⁸ And a mixed multitude also went up with them and flocks and herds, even very much cattle.

⁶ You* will purchase food from them for money, that you* may eat and you* will also buy water from them for money, that you* may drink.

²⁸ You will sell me food for money, that I may eat and give me water for money, that I may drink. Only let me pass through on my feet,

⁴¹ And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him. And Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand. Then I will kill my brother Jacob.

⁶ And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to your brother Esau and moreover he comes to meet you and four hundred men with him.

¹⁸ And Edom said to him, You will not pass through me, lest I come out with the sword against you.

¹⁷ then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, I beseech you, let me pass through your land, but the king of Edom did not listen. And in like manner he sent to the king of Moab, but he would not. And Israel abode in Kadesh.

²⁰ But Sihon did not trust Israel to pass through his border, but Sihon gathered all his people together and encamped in Jahaz and fought against Israel.

⁷ I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.

⁵ Because you have had a everlasting enmity and have given over the sons of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end, ⁶ therefore, as I live, says the lord Jehovah, I will prepare you to blood and blood will pursue you. Since you have not hated blood, therefore blood will pursue you.
⁷ Thus I will make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation and I will cut off from it he who passes through and he who returns. ⁸ And I will fill its mountains with its slain. In your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses will fall who are slain with the sword. ⁹ I will make you a everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited.
And you* will know that I am Jehovah.
¹⁰ Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries will be mine and we will possess it, and Jehovah was there, ¹¹ therefore, as I live, says the lord Jehovah, I will do according to your anger and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them. And I will make myself known among them when I will judge you.

¹¹ Jehovah says thus: For three transgressions of Edom, yes, for four, I will not turn away the punishment of it, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity. And his anger tore perpetually and he kept his wrath forever.

¹⁰ Shame will cover you for the violence done to your brother Jacob and you will be cut off everlasting. ¹¹ In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance and foreigners entered into his gates and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even you were as one of them.

Yes, do not look on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor lay you* hands on their substance in the day of their calamity. ¹⁴ And stand not in the crossway, to cut off those of his who escape and do not deliver up those of his who remain in the day of distress.
¹⁵ For the day of Jehovah is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealing will return upon your own head.

⁴ And command you the people, saying, You* are to pass through the border of your* brothers the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir and they will be afraid of you*. You* take good heed to yourselves therefore.

¹⁸ Then they went through the wilderness and went around the land of Edom and the land of Moab and came by the east side of the land of Moab. And they encamped on the other side of the Arnon, but they did not come within the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.

²⁴ Will you not possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whomever Jehovah our God has dispossessed from before us, them will we possess.

²⁶ And they went and came to Moses and to Aaron and to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh and brought back word to them and to all the congregation and showed them the fruit of the land.

¹ And the sons of Israel, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month and the people abode in Kadesh. And Miriam died there and was buried there.

¹⁴ And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the King of Edom, Thus says your brother Israel, You know all the travail that has befallen us,

⁴ And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to encompass the land of Edom. And the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

³⁶ And they journeyed from Ezion-geber and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (what is Kadesh).
³⁷ And they journeyed from Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.
³⁸ (And Aaron the priest went up onto Mount Hor at the commandment of Jehovah and died there, in the fortieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

⁷ And this will be your* north border: From the great sea you* will mark out for you* Mount Hor.

¹⁹ And the south side southward will be from Tamar as far as the waters of Meribath-kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, to the great sea. This is the south side southward.

²⁸ And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border will be even from Tamar to the waters of Meribath-kadesh, to the brook of Egypt, to the great sea.

³⁷ And they journeyed from Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

¹⁵ But you will go to your fathers in peace; you will be buried at a good old age.

⁸ And Abraham gave up the spirit and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years and was gathered to his people.

¹⁷ And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty-seven years. And he gave up the spirit and died and was gathered to his people.

²⁹ And Isaac gave up the spirit and died and was gathered to his people, old and full of days. And Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.

²⁹ And he ordered them and said to them, I am to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,

³³ And when Jacob made an end of charging his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed and yielded up the spirit and was gathered to his people.

²⁷ At the commandment of Aaron and his sons will be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden and in all their service. And you* will appoint to those in charge all their burden.

¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock and he said to them, Hear now, you* rebels. Shall we bring forth water to you* out of this rock? ¹¹ And Moses lifted up his hand and killed* the rock with his rod twice and water came out abundantly. And the congregation drank and their cattle.
¹² And Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron, Because you* did not believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you* will not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.

¹³ And when you have seen it, you also will be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was gathered,

² Avenge the sons of Israel of the Midianites. Afterward you will be gathered to your people.

⁵⁰ And die on the mountain where you go up and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

¹⁰ And also all that generation were gathered to their fathers.
And there arose another generation after them that did not know Jehovah, nor yet the work which he had worked for Israel.

²⁸ Behold, I will gather you to your fathers and you will be gathered to your grave in peace, neither will your eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place and upon the inhabitants of it. And they brought back word to the king.

³⁸ (And Aaron the priest went up onto Mount Hor at the commandment of Jehovah and died there, in the fortieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month. ³⁹ And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

²⁹ And the holy garments of Aaron will be for his sons after him, to be anointed in them and to be consecrated in them. ³⁰ Seven days will the son that is priest instead of him put them on, when he comes into the tent of meeting to minister in the holy place.

²¹ And I will clothe him with your robe and strengthen him with your belt. And I will commit your government into his hand and he will be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. ²² And I will lay the key of the house of David upon his shoulder and he will open and none will shut and he will shut and none will open.

¹¹ Therefore, if there indeed was completion through the Levitical priesthood (for the people had the law instituted upon it), what need was there still for a different priest to rise up according to the order of Melchizedek and not to be called according to the order of Aaron?

²³ And they have become indeed many priests in number, because they are prevented by death to remain in office; ²⁴ but he has his perpetual priesthood because he is to remain forever.

²⁶ and strip Aaron of his garments and put them upon Eleazar his son. And Aaron will be gathered and will die there.

¹⁶ Let Jehovah, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, ¹⁷ who may go out before them and who may come in before them and who may lead them out and who may bring them in, that the congregation of Jehovah is not as sheep which have no shepherd.
¹⁸ And Jehovah said to Moses, You take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit and lay your hand upon him, ¹⁹ and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation and give him a charge in their sight. ²⁰ And you will put of your honor upon him, that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may obey. ²¹ And he will stand before Eleazar the priest, who will inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before Jehovah. At his word will they go out and at his word they will come in, both he and all the sons of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
²² And Moses did as Jehovah commanded him. And he took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation. ²³ And he laid his hands upon him and gave him a charge, as Jehovah spoke by Moses.

³⁸ (And Aaron the priest went up onto Mount Hor at the commandment of Jehovah and died there, in the fortieth year after the sons of Israel came out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month. ³⁹ And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor. ⁴⁰ And the Canaanite, the King of Arad, who dwelt in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the sons of Israel.)
⁴¹ And they journeyed from Mount Hor and encamped in Zalmonah.
⁴² And they journeyed from Zalmonah and encamped in Punon.
⁴³ And they journeyed from Punon and encamped in Oboth.
⁴⁴ And they journeyed from Oboth and encamped in Iye-abarim, in the border of Moab.
⁴⁵ And they journeyed from Iyim and encamped in Dibon-gad.
⁴⁶ And they journeyed from Dibon-gad and encamped in Almon-diblathaim.
⁴⁷ And they journeyed from Almon-diblathaim and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
⁴⁸ And they journeyed from the mountains of Abarim and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho. ⁴⁹ And they encamped by the Jordan, from Beth-jeshimoth even to Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.

⁶ (And the sons of Israel journeyed from Beeroth Bene-jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died and there he was buried and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office instead of him.

⁷ And Moses called to Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of good courage. For you will go with this people into the land which Jehovah has sworn to their fathers to give them and you will cause them to inherit it. ⁸ And Jehovah, he it is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you, nor forsake you. Do not fear, neither be dismayed.

⁴⁹ You get up onto this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is opposite Jericho and behold the land of Canaan, which I give to the sons of Israel for a possession. ⁵⁰ And die on the mountain where you go up and be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother died in Mount Hor and was gathered to his people,

⁵ So Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah.

⁹ And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the sons of Israel listened to him and did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

¹¹ Now, my son, Jehovah be with you and prosper you and build the house of Jehovah your God as he has spoken concerning you. ¹² Only Jehovah give you discretion and understanding and give you charge concerning Israel, so that you may keep the law of Jehovah your God.

¹⁷ David also commanded all the rulers of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

⁵ And of all my sons (for Jehovah has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Jehovah over Israel. ⁶ And he said to me, Solomon your son, he will build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son and I will be his father. ⁷ And I will establish his kingdom until everlasting, if he is constant to do my commandments and my ordinances, as at this day.
⁸ Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of Jehovah and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Jehovah your* God, that you* may possess this good land and leave it for an inheritance to your* sons after you* until everlasting.
⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind, for Jehovah searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

²⁵ And now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I went through preaching the kingdom of God, will be seeing my face no more, ²⁶ because I testify to you on this very day, that I am clean from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I did not retreat back from proclaiming to you the whole plan of God. ²⁸ Therefore, take-heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the congregation of the Lord and God, which the Lord acquired through his own blood. ²⁹ I know this: after my goodbye, cruel wolves will be entering into you, not sparing the flock;

²⁴ but he has his perpetual priesthood because he is to remain forever. ²⁵ Hence he is also able to completely save those who come to God through him, always living, that he may petition on their behalf.

¹⁵ But I will also be diligent, each-time, to have you in remembrance of these things, to practice them after my exodus.

¹⁰ And God called the dry land Earth and he called the gathering together of the waters Seas. And God saw that it was good.

⁸ And the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

²⁴ So his servants took him out of the chariot and put him in the second chariot that he had and brought him to Jerusalem. And he died and was buried in the sepulchers of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.
²⁵ And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah. And all the singing men and singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations to this day. And they made them an ordinance in Israel, and behold, they are written in the lamentations.

² Now devout men entombed Stephen and made a great lamentation over him.
