2 Chronicles 32:1-23 And after these words, and this truth, came Sennacherib king of the Assyrians. And he came unto Judah, and he camped about the walled cities, and he spoke at first to take them.

G2532 And G2064 he came G1909 unto G* Judah, G2532 and G3924.2 he camped G1909 about G3588 the G4172 [²cities G3588 G5037.2 ¹walled], G2532 and G2036 he spoke G4293.1 at first to take G1473 them.

2 G2532 And G1492 Hezekiah beheld G* G3754 that G2240 Sennacherib comes, G* G2532 and G3588 G4383 his face G1473 G3588 G4170 was to wage war G1909 against G* Jerusalem.

3 G2532 And G1011 he consulted G3326 with G3588 G4245 his elders, G1473 G2532 and G3588 the G1415 mighty ones G1719.2 to obstruct G3588 the G5204 waters G3588 of the G4077 springs G3739 which G1510.7.3 was G1854 outside G3588 the G4172 city, G2532 and G4902.3 they vigorously assisted G1473 him.

4 G2532 And G4863 he brought together G2992 [²people G4183 ¹many], G2532 and G1719.2 they obstructed G3588 the G5204 waters G3588 of the G4077 springs, G2532 and G3588 the G5493 rushing stream G3588 G1357.1 separating G1223 through G3588 the G4172 city, G3004 saying, G3361 Should G2064 [³come G935 ¹ the king G* ²of the Assyrians] G2532 and G2147 find G5204 [²water G4183 ¹much], G2532 and G2729 grow strong?

5 G2532 And G2729 Hezekiah strengthened himself, G* G2532 and G3618 built up G3956 every G3588 G5038 wall G3588 G2679 having been razed, G2532 and G4444 towers, G2532 and G1854 [²outside G4385.1 ³wall around G243 ¹another]. G2532 And G2729 he strengthened G3588 the G353.4 elevation G3588 of the G4172 city G* of David, G2532 and G2680 carefully prepared G3696 [²weapons G4183 ¹many].

6 G2532 And G5087 he put G758 rulers G4171 of war G1909 over G3588 the G2992 people. G2532 And G4863 they were brought together G4314 to G1473 him G1909 upon G3588 the G4113 square G3588 of the G4439 gate G3588 of the G4172 city. G2532 And G2980 he spoke G1909 unto G3588 G2588 their heart, G1473 G3004 saying,

7 G2480 Be strong G2532 and G407 be manly! G3361 fear not, G5399 G3366 nor G4422 be terrified G575 from G4383 the face G935 of the king G* of Assyria, G2532 nor G575 from G4383 the face G3956 of any G3588 of the G1484 nations G3588 G3326 with G1473 him! G3754 for G3326 with G1473 us G4183 are more G5228 over G3588 the ones G3326 with G1473 him.

8 G3326 With G1473 him G1023 are arms G4559 of flesh, G3326 [²with G1473 ³us G1161 ¹but] G2962 is the lord G3588 G2316 our God, G1473 G3588 G4982 to deliver G2532 and G3588 G4170 to wage G3588 G4171 our war. G1473 G2532 And G2616.3 [³relied with confidence G3588 ¹the G2992 ²people] G1909 upon G3588 the G3056 words G* of Hezekiah G935 king G* of Judah.

9 G2532 And G3326 after G3778 these things G649 [⁴sent G* ¹Sennacherib G935 ²king G* ³of the Assyrians] G3588 G3816 his servants G1473 G1909 unto G* Jerusalem. G2532 And G1473 he was G1909 by G* Lachish, G2532 and G3956 all G3588 G4756 his military G1473 G3326 with G1473 him. G2532 And G649 he sent G4314 to G* Hezekiah G935 king G* of Judah, G2532 and G4314 to G3956 all G* Judah G3588 G1722 in G* Jerusalem, G3004 saying,

10 G3779 Thus G3004 says G* Sennacherib G935 king G* of the Assyrians, G1909 Upon G5100 whom G1473 do you G3982 rely, G2532 that G2521 you settle G1722 in G3588 the G4042 stronghold G1722 in G* Jerusalem?

11 G3780 Has not G* Hezekiah G538 deceived G1473 you G3588 G3860 to deliver G1473 you G1519 into G2288 death, G2532 and G1519 into G3042 hunger, G2532 and G1519 into G1371.2 thirst, G3004 saying, G2962 The lord G3588 G2316 our God G1473 G4982 shall deliver G1473 us G1537 from G5495 the hand G935 of the king G* of Assyria?

12 G3756 [³not G3778 ²this G1510.2.3 ¹Is] G* Hezekiah G3739 who G4014 removed G3588 G2379 his altars, G1473 G2532 and G3588 G5308 his high places, G1473 G2532 and G2036 said G3588 to G* Judah, G2532 and G3588 to the G2730 ones dwelling G1722 in G* Jerusalem, G3004 saying, G1799 Before G3588 G2379 this altar G3778 G4352 you shall do obeisance, G2532 and G1909 upon G1473 it G2370 you shall burn incense?

13 G3756 Do you not G1097 know G5100 what G4160 [⁴did G1473 ¹I G2532 ²and G3588 G3962 ³my fathers] G1473 G3956 to all G3588 the G2992 peoples G3588 of the G5561 places. G3361 In G1410 being able, G1410 were [⁸able G3588 ¹the G2316 ²gods G3588 ³of the G1484 ⁴nations G3956 ⁵of all G3588 ⁶the G1093 ⁷earth] G4982 to deliver G3588 G2992 their people G1473 G1537 from G5495 my hand? G1473

14 G5100 Who G1722 among G3956 all G3588 the G2316 gods G3588 G1484 of these nations, G3778 G3739 which G1842 [²utterly destroyed G3588 G3962 ¹my fathers], G1473 G3361 is the one who G1410 is able G4982 to rescue G3588 G2992 his people G1473 G1537 from G5495 my hand, G1473 G3754 that G1410 [²shall be able G3588 G2316 ¹your God] G1473 G4982 to deliver G1473 you G1537 from out of G5495 my hand? G1473

15 G2532 And G3568 now, G3361 let not G538 [²deceive G1473 ³you G* ¹Hezekiah], G2532 and G3361 not G3982 persuade G1473 you G4160 to do G2596 according to G3778 these things, G2532 and G3361 do not G4100 trust G1473 him; G3754 for G3766.2 in no way G1410 was [⁶able G2316 ¹a god G3956 ²of any G1484 ³nation G2532 ⁴and G932 ⁵kingdom] G3588 G4982 to deliver G3588 G2992 his people G1473 G1537 from out of G5495 my hand, G1473 G2532 and G1537 from out of G5495 the hand G3588 G3962 of my fathers. G1473 G3754 For G3588 G2316 [³your God G1473 G3766.2 ¹in no way G4982 ²shall] deliver G1473 you G1537 from out of G5495 my hand. G1473

16 G2532 And G2089 still G2980 [²spoke G3588 G3816 ¹his servants] G1473 G1909 against G3588 the G2962 lord G3588 G2316 God, G2532 and G1909 against G* Hezekiah G3816 his servant. G1473

17 G2532 And G975 [²a scroll G1125 ¹he wrote] G3588 G3679 to berate G2962 the lord G3588 G2316 God G* of Israel. G2532 And G2036 he said G4012 concerning G1473 him, G3004 saying, G2531 As G3588 the G2316 gods G3588 of the G1484 nations G3588 of the G1093 earth G3756 did not G1807 rescue G3588 G2992 their people G1473 G1537 from G5495 my hand, G1473 G3779 so G3766.2 in no way G1807 shall [⁴rescue G3588 ¹the G2316 ²God G* ³of Hezekiah] G3588 G2992 his people G1473 G1537 from out of G5495 my hand. G1473

18 G2532 And G994 they yelled G1722 with G5456 [²voice G3173 ¹a great] G2454.1 in Jewish G1909 unto G3588 the G2992 people G* of Jerusalem G3588 G1909 upon G3588 the G5038 wall, G3588 G5399 to make them afraid G1473 of them, G2532 and G3588 G2686.2 to tear them down, G1473 G3704 so as G4293.1 to first take G3588 the G4172 city.

19 G2532 And G2980 he spoke G1909 against G3588 the G2316 God G* of Jerusalem, G5613 as G2532 also G1909 against G3588 the G2316 gods G3588 of the G2992 peoples G3588 of the G1093 land -- G2041 the works G5495 of the hands G444 of men.

20 G2532 And G4336 [⁴prayed G* ¹Hezekiah G3588 ²the G935 ³king], G2532 and G* Isaiah G5207 son G* of Amoz G3588 the G4396 prophet G4012 concerning G3778 these things, G2532 and G994 they yelled G1519 unto G3588 the G3772 heaven.

21 G2532 And G649 the lord sent G2962 G32 an angel, G2532 and G1625.3 he obliterated G3956 every G1415 mighty G4170.3 warrior, G2532 and G758 ruler, G2532 and G4755 commandant G1722 in G3588 the G3925 camp G3588 of the G935 king G* of Assyria. G2532 And G654 he returned G3326 with G152 shame G4383 of face G1519 into G3588 G1093 his land. G1438 G2532 And G1525 he entered G1519 into G3624 the house G3588 G2316 of his god, G1473 G2532 and G3588 some of the ones G1831 coming forth G1537 from G2836 his belly G1473 G2598 overthrew G1473 him G1722 by G4501 the broadsword.

22 G2532 And G4982 the lord delivered G2962 G3588 G* Hezekiah G2532 and G3588 the G2730 ones dwelling G1722 in G* Jerusalem G1537 from G5495 the hand G* of Sennacherib G935 king G* of Assyria, G2532 and G1537 from G5495 the hand G3956 of all, G2532 and G2664 rested G1473 them G2943 round about.

23 G2532 And G4183 many G5342 brought G1435 gifts G3588 to the G2962 lord G1519 in G* Jerusalem, G2532 and G1390 presents G3588 G* to Hezekiah G935 king G* of Judah. G2532 And G5229 he was elevated G2596 in G3788 the eyes G3956 of all G3588 the G1484 nations G3326 after G3778 these things .
