Isaiah 28:15-19 כי Because אמרתם ye have said, כרתנו We have made ברית a covenant את with מות death, ועם and with שׁאול hell עשׂינו are we at חזה agreement; שׁיט שׁוטף scourge כי when עבר shall pass through, לא it shall not יבואנו come כי unto us: for שׂמנו we have made כזב lies מחסנו our refuge, ובשׁקר and under falsehood נסתרנו׃ have we hid ourselves:

16 H3651 לכן Therefore H3541 כה thus H559 אמר saith H136 אדני the Lord H3069 יהוה GOD, H2005 הנני H3245 יסד I lay H6726 בציון in Zion H68 אבן a stone, H68 אבן stone, H976 בחן a tried H6438 פנת corner H3368 יקרת a precious H4143 מוסד foundation: H3245 מוסד for a foundation H539 המאמין he that believeth H3808 לא shall not H2363 יחישׁ׃ make haste.

17 H7760 ושׂמתי also will I lay H4941 משׁפט Judgment H6957 לקו to the line, H6666 וצדקה and righteousness H4949 למשׁקלת to the plummet: H3261 ויעה shall sweep away H1259 ברד and the hail H4268 מחסה the refuge H3577 כזב of lies, H5643 וסתר the hiding place. H4325 מים and the waters H7857 ישׁטפו׃ shall overflow

18 H3722 וכפר shall be disannulled, H1285 בריתכם And your covenant H854 את with H4194 מות death H2380 וחזותכם and your agreement H854 את with H7585 שׁאול hell H3808 לא shall not H6965 תקום stand; H7752 שׁוט scourge H7857 שׁוטף the overflowing H3588 כי when H5674 יעבר shall pass through, H1961 והייתם then ye shall be H4823 לו למרמס׃ trodden down

19 H1767 מדי H5674 עברו that it goeth forth H3947 יקח it shall take H853 אתכם H3588 כי you: for H1242 בבקר morning H1242 בבקר by morning H5674 יעבר shall it pass over, H3117 ביום by day H3915 ובלילה and by night: H1961 והיה and it shall be H7535 רק only H2113 זועה a vexation H995 הבין understand H8052 שׁמועה׃ the report.
