But they woulde not heare. ²⁰ And the spirite of God came vpon Zachariah the sonne of Iehoiada the preste, and he stept vp aboue the people and sayde to them. Thus sayth God: why transgresse ye the commaundementes of the Lorde? ye shall therfore not prospere, but as ye haue forsaken hym, so shal he forsake you ²¹ Wherupon they conspired agaynst hym and stoned hym with stones, at the commaundement of the kynge: euen in the courte of the house of the Lord.
