16 H8227 Shaphan H935 carried H5612 the book H4428 to the king, H7725 and moreover brought H7725 back H1697 word H4428 to the king, H559 saying, H5414 "All that was committed H3027 to H5650 your servants, H6213 they are doing.

17 H5413 They have emptied H3701 out the money H4672 that was found H1004 in the house H3068 of Yahweh, H5414 and have delivered H3027 it into the hand H6485 of the overseers, H3027 and into the hand H6213 of the workmen."

18 H8227 Shaphan H5608 the scribe H5046 told H4428 the king, H559 saying, H2518 "Hilkiah H3548 the priest H5414 has delivered H5612 me a book." H8227 Shaphan H7121 read H6440 therein before H4428 the king.

19 H4428 It happened, when the king H8085 had heard H1697 the words H8451 of the law, H7167 that he tore H899 his clothes.

20 H4428 The king H6680 commanded H2518 Hilkiah, H296 and Ahikam H1121 the son H8227 of Shaphan, H5658 and Abdon H1121 the son H4318 of Micah, H8227 and Shaphan H5608 the scribe, H6222 and Asaiah H4428 the king's H5650 servant, H559 saying,

21 H3212 "Go H1875 inquire H3068 of Yahweh H7604 for me, and for those who are left H3478 in Israel H3063 and in Judah, H1697 concerning the words H5612 of the book H4672 that is found; H1419 for great H2534 is the wrath H3068 of Yahweh H5413 that is poured out H1 on us, because our fathers H8104 have not kept H1697 the word H3068 of Yahweh, H6213 to do H3789 according to all that is written H5612 in this book."

22 H2518 So Hilkiah, H4428 and they whom the king H3212 had commanded, went H2468 to Huldah H5031 the prophetess, H802 the wife H7967 of Shallum H1121 the son H8616 of Tokhath, H1121 the son H2641 of Hasrah, H8104 keeper H899 of the wardrobe; H3427 (now she lived H3389 in Jerusalem H4932 in the second quarter;) H1696 and they spoke to her to that effect.

23 H559 She said H559 to them, "Thus says H3068 Yahweh, H430 the God H3478 of Israel: H559 ‘Tell H376 the man H7971 who sent you to me,

24 H559 "Thus says H3068 Yahweh, H935 ‘Behold, I will bring H7451 evil H4725 on this place, H3427 and on its inhabitants, H423 even all the curses H3789 that are written H5612 in the book H7121 which they have read H6440 before H4428 the king H3063 of Judah.

25 H5800 Because they have forsaken H6999 me, and have burned incense H312 to other H430 gods, H3707 that they might provoke me to anger H4639 with all the works H3027 of their hands; H2534 therefore is my wrath H5413 poured out H4725 on this place, H3518 and it shall not be quenched.'"'

26 H413 But to H4428 the king H3063 of Judah, H7971 who sent H1875 you to inquire H3068 of Yahweh, H559 thus you shall tell H559 him, ‘Thus says H3068 Yahweh, H430 the God H3478 of Israel: H1697 "As touching the words H8085 which you have heard,

27 H3824 because your heart H7401 was tender, H3665 and you humbled H6440 yourself before H430 God, H8085 when you heard H1697 his words H4725 against this place, H3427 and against its inhabitants, H3665 and have humbled H6440 yourself before H7167 me, and have torn H899 your clothes, H1058 and wept H6440 before H8085 me; I also have heard H5002 you," says H3068 Yahweh.

28 H622 "Behold, I will gather H1 you to your fathers, H622 and you shall be gathered H6913 to your grave H7965 in peace, H5869 neither shall your eyes H7200 see H7451 all the evil H935 that I will bring H4725 on this place, H3427 and on its inhabitants."'" H7725 They brought H7725 back H1697 word H4428 to the king.
