Acts 18:14-17

Williams(i) 14 As Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, "If it were some misdemeanor or underhanded rascality, O Jews, I would in reason listen to you; 15 but as it is questions about words and titles and your own law, you will have to see to it yourselves. I refuse to act as judge in these matters." 16 So he drove them away from the court. 17 Then they all seized Sosthenes, the leader of the synagogue, and kept beating him right in front of the court; but Gallio paid no attention to it.
