¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity; I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide. ² Examine me, O LORD and prove me; melt my kidneys and my heart. ³ For thy mercy is before my eyes, and I walk in thy truth. ⁴ I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with hypocrites. ⁵ I have hated the congregation of evil doers and will not sit with the wicked. ⁶ ¶ I will wash my hands in innocency, so I will walk near unto thine altar, O LORD: ⁷ That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works. ⁸ LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house and the place of the tabernacle of thy glory. ⁹ Gather not my soul with the sinners, nor my life with those who have blood on their hands: ¹⁰ In whose hands are wicked devices, and their right hand is full of bribes. ¹¹ But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; ransom me and be merciful unto me. ¹² I have walked uprightly; in the congregations I will bless the LORD.

⁹ He keeps the feet of his saints, and the wicked perish in darkness, for no man shall prevail by their own strength.

¹⁵ The LORD, therefore, shall judge, and he shall judge between me and thee. Let him see and plead my cause, and defend me from thy hand.

³ I beseech thee, O LORD, remember how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept with great weeping.

⁵ Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

⁸ The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.

² He that walks in integrity and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.

⁷ ¶ For the king trusts in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

² Beth O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.

²¹ Tau Integrity and uprightness shall preserve me, for I have waited for thee.

¹¹ But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; ransom me and be merciful unto me.

⁷ The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song I will praise him.

¹⁴ But I trusted in thee, O LORD; I said, Thou art my God.

²⁴ Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

³¹ The law of his God is in his heart; therefore none of his steps shall slide.

² He only is my rock and my saving health; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

³ He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; he that keeps thee will not slumber.

⁷ The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil; he shall preserve thy soul. ⁸ The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

⁷ ¶ The just man who walks in his integrity, blessed shall be his sons after him.

²⁵ ¶ The fear of man brings a snare, but whosoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be lifted up.

³ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by man’s judgment; I do not even judge my own self. ⁴ For although I have nothing on my conscience, yet am I not hereby justified, but he that judges me is the Lord. ⁵ Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each one have praise of God. ⁶ And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes, that in us ye might not learn above that which is written, lest because of one, some of you become puffed up against others.

¹² ¶ For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with carnal wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world and more abundantly towards you.

²³ let us hold fast the profession of our hope without wavering (for he is faithful that promised).

⁵ who are kept in the virtue of God by faith, to attain unto the saving health which is made ready to be manifested in the last time.

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, give all the more diligence to make your calling and election sure; for doing these things, ye shall never fall.

²³ ¶ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.

⁴ Does he not see my ways and count all my steps? ⁵ If I have walked with falsehood or if my foot has hastened to deceit, ⁶ let me be weighed in a just balance, that God may know my integrity.

⁹ Let wickedness consume the wicked; but establish the just: for the righteous God is he who tries the hearts and kidneys.

³ Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast refined me and hast found no iniquity; that which I thought did not pass through my mouth.

¹⁰ For thou, O God, hast proved us; thou hast refined us as silver is refined.

²³ Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts ²⁴ and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way eternal.

¹² O LORD of the hosts, who examines that which is just, who seest the kidneys and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee I have opened my cause.

⁹ And I will put the third part into the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried; He shall call on my name, and I will hear him; I will say, My people, and he shall say, The LORD is my God.

⁵ He Cause me to walk in thy truth and teach me: for thou art the God of my saving health; I have waited for thee all the day.

A Psalm of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. ¶ Why dost thou boast of evil, O strong man? The mercy of God is day by day.

¹⁰ Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. ¹¹ Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from the heavens. ¹² The LORD shall give that which is good, and our land shall bring forth her fruit. ¹³ Righteousness shall go before him and shall set his steps in the way.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth; firm up my heart that I might fear thy name.

² When thou shalt come unto me, I will walk in the way of perfection and understand. I will walk in the midst of my house in the perfection of my heart.

¹⁴² ¶ Thy righteousness is eternal righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

⁵ O house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

⁴⁴ But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who speak evil about you, and persecute you; ⁴⁵ that ye may be sons of your Father who is in the heavens, for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. ⁴⁶ For if ye love those who love you, what reward shall ye have? Do not even the publicans the same? ⁴⁷ And if ye embrace your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so? ⁴⁸ Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in the heavens is perfect.

³⁶ Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

⁶ Jesus said unto him, I AM the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes unto the Father, but by me.

¹⁸ Therefore we all, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord with uncovered face, are transformed from glory to glory into the same likeness, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

¹⁴ For the charity of the Christ constrains us because we judge thus: that if one died for all, then all are dead: ¹⁵ And that he died for all that those who live should not live from now on unto themselves, but unto him who died and rose again for them.

⁹ For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor that ye through his poverty might be enriched.

²⁰ But ye have not so learned of the Christ, ²¹ if so be that ye have heard him and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus, ²² that ye put off everything concerning the old way of life, that is, the old man who corrupts himself according to deceitful desires, ²³ and be renewed in the spirit of your understanding ²⁴ and that ye put on the new man, which is created in conformity to God in righteousness and in the holiness of the truth. ²⁵ Therefore, leaving the lie, speak every man truth with his neighbour, for we are members one of another.

³² and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God has forgiven you in Christ.

¹² ¶ Clothed, therefore, (as the elect of God, holy and beloved) with bowels of mercies, with kindness, with humility, with meekness, with tolerance, ¹³ forbearing one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a quarrel against another: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have communion with him in the midst of us, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son cleanses us from all sin.

⁷ ¶ Beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. Anyone that loves is born of God and knows God. ⁸ He that does not love does not know God, for God is charity. ⁹ In this was the charity of God demonstrated in us, in that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ In this does the charity consist, not because we had loved God, but because he loved us and has sent his Son to be the reconciliation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and his charity is completed in us.

¹⁹ We love him, because he first loved us. ²⁰ If anyone says, I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? ²¹ And we have this commandment from him, That he who loves God loves his brother also.

⁴ I have rejoiced greatly, for I have found of thy sons that they walk in the truth, as we have received the commandment from the Father.

³ ¶ For I rejoiced greatly when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou dost walk in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than this, to hear that my sons walk in the truth.

¹¹ Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that does good is of God, but he that does evil has not seen God.

¹ ¶ Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful.

⁶³ ¶ I am a companion of all those that fear thee and of those that keep thy precepts.

¹¹⁵ ¶ Depart from me, ye evildoers; for I will keep the commandments of my God.

⁶ Forsake that which is foolish and live and go in the way of understanding.

¹¹ ¶ He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread, but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.

²⁰ ¶ He that walks with wise men shall be wise, but the companion of fools shall be destroyed.

¹⁷ I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, nor did I become puffed up by reason of thy prophecy; I sat alone because thou hast filled me with indignation.

³³ Be not deceived: evil companions corrupt good character.

¹⁷ Therefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will receive you

⁶ I have hated those that regard lying vanities; but I wait in the LORD.

³ I will set nothing of Belial before my eyes: I hate the work of those that betray; it shall not cleave to me. ⁴ A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know a wicked person. ⁵ Whosoever secretly slanders his neighbour, I will cut off; he that has a high look and a proud heart I will not suffer. ⁶ My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; he that walks in the way of perfection, he shall serve me. ⁷ He that works deceit shall not dwell within my house; he that tells lies shall not tarry in my sight. ⁸ I will early destroy all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off all the workers of iniquity from the city of the LORD.

²¹ Do I not hate all those, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? ²² I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them mine enemies.

¹¹ And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners? ¹² But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, Those that are whole need not a physician, but those that are sick.

⁹ ¶ I wrote unto you in an epistle not to associate with fornicators, ¹⁰ yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world or with the covetous or extortioners or with idolaters, for then ye would need to go out of the world. ¹¹ But now I have written unto you not to associate with anyone calling himself a brother if he is a fornicator or covetous or an idolater or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner; with such a one do not even eat.

¹⁹ And from it Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet. ²⁰ When they go into the tabernacle of the testimony, they shall wash with water that they not die, or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn the offering unto the LORD that must be consumed by fire,

⁴ He that has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not taken my name in vain, nor sworn deceitfully.

⁴ Then I will enter in to the altar of God, unto the God of my exceeding joy; yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

¹³ Verily, in vain have I cleansed my heart and washed my hands in innocency

¹⁶ ¶ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; ¹⁷ learn to do good; seek judgment; restore unto the oppressed; hear the fatherless in right judgment; protect the widow. ¹⁸ Then come, shall the LORD say, and we shall be even; if your sins were as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow; if they were red like crimson, they shall become as wool.

¹¹ Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination has been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of the LORD by loving and marrying the daughter of a strange god. ¹² The LORD will cut off the man that does this, the master and the scholar out of the tabernacles of Jacob and him that offers an offering unto the LORD of the hosts. ¹³ And once again ye shall cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, for I shall not even look at the offering any more to receive a free will offering from your hand.

²³ Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother has something against thee; ²⁴ leave thy gift there before the altar, and go; first restore friendship with thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

²⁸ But let each man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. ²⁹ For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

⁸ I desire, therefore, that the men in every place, pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and strife.

⁵ not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

¹⁹ ¶ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and living way, which he has consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; ²¹ and having that great priest over the house of God, ²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts purified from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water;

² thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God gives thee, and shalt put it in a basket and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to cause his name to dwell. ³ And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days and say unto him, I declare today unto the LORD thy God that I have entered into the land which the LORD swore unto our fathers to give us. ⁴ And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God. ⁵ Then thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, My father, the Syrian, perishing of hunger went down into Egypt and sojourned there with a few and became there a nation, great, mighty, and many; ⁶ and the Egyptians mistreated us and afflicted us and laid upon us hard bondage. ⁷ And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice and looked on our affliction and our labour and our oppression. ⁸ And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with great terribleness and with signs and with wonders; ⁹ and he has brought us into this place and has given us this land, even a land that flows with milk and honey. ¹⁰ And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God and worship before the LORD thy God.

²⁴ And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks and one ephah of flour and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the LORD in Shiloh; and the child was young.

²⁷ For this child I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of him.

²⁶ And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah {Heb. of Blessing}; for there they blessed the LORD; therefore, they called the name of that place, The valley of Berachah, unto this day. ²⁷ Then they returned, those of Judah and those of Jerusalem with Jehoshaphat at their head, to go again to Jerusalem with joy, for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies. ²⁸ And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD. ²⁹ And the fear of God came upon all the kingdoms of the land when they heard how the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.

A Psalm of David. ¶ I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all thy marvellous works.

¹⁴ that I may show forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy saving health.

¹³ ¶ I will go into thy house with burnt offerings; I will pay thee my vows, ¹⁴ which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble. ¹⁵ I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.

¹⁷ O God, thou hast taught me from my youth and until now; I shall manifest thy wondrous works. ¹⁸ Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not until I have showed the strength of thy arm unto the next generation and thy power to every one that is to come, ¹⁹ and thy righteousness, O God, unto excellence because thou hast done great things; O God, who is like unto thee!

¹⁸ ¶ Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, the only one who does wondrous things

² Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and sing unto him with joy.

⁴ Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name. ⁵ For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

² Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him; speak of all his wondrous works.

¹² What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? ¹³ I will take the cup of saving health and invoke the name of the LORD. ¹⁴ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

¹⁸ I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people, ¹⁹ in the courts of the LORD’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Halelu-JAH.

¹⁹ ¶ Open unto me the gates of righteousness; I will go in through them; I will praise JAH.

²⁷ God is the LORD, who has shined on us; bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar.

²⁷ Make me to understand the way of thy precepts; so I shall meditate of thy wondrous works.

² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.

⁴ To the only one who does great wonders: for his mercy endures for ever. ⁵ To him that by intelligence made the heavens: for his mercy endures for ever.

⁵ He I will speak of the beauty of the glory of thy majesty and of thy wondrous works.

³⁷ And when he was come near, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, ³⁸ saying, Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord; peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. ³⁹ And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. ⁴⁰ And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that if these should be silent, the stones would immediately cry out.

²¹ And thou shalt put the seat of reconciliation above upon the ark, and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. ²² And there I will meet with thee, and I will speak with thee from above the seat of reconciliation, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the sons of Israel.

³⁴ ¶ Then a cloud covered the tabernacle of the testimony, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ And Moses was not able to enter into the tabernacle of the testimony because the cloud was upon it, and the glory of the LORD had it full.

²⁵ But the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city; if I shall find grace in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again and show me both it and his tabernacle.

³ Moreover, because I have my delight in the house of my God, I have in my own treasury, gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary:

¹⁴ so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.

⁴ One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the LORD and to enquire in his temple. ⁵ For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his tabernacle; in the secret of his tent shall he hide me; he shall set me high upon a rock. ⁶ And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in his tabernacle; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

⁴ I will remember these things; I will pour out my soul in me. When I shall be included in the number; I will go with them to the house of God with voice of joy and praise, dancing in the multitude.

² in this manner I beheld thee in holiness when I beheld thy power and thy glory. ³ ¶ Because thy mercy is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

¹ To the Overcomer upon Gittith,
A Psalm for the sons of Korah. ¶ How amiable are thy habitations, O LORD of the hosts! ² My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing to the living God.

¹⁰ for a day in thy courts is better than a thousand outside of them. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

¹ A Song of degrees of David. ¶ I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. ² Our feet stood within thy gates, O Jerusalem. ³ Jerusalem, that one which is built as a city that is well united together ⁴ Because the tribes went up there, the tribes of JAH, the testimony to Israel, to praise the name of the LORD.

⁹ Because of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek thy good.

²⁰ The LORD is ready to save me: therefore we will sing our psalms in the house of the LORD all the days of our life.

²² And Hezekiah had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of the LORD?

⁴⁶ And it came to pass that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them and asking them questions.

⁴⁹ And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Knew ye not that it behooves me to be about my Father’s business?

⁴⁵ And he went into the temple and began to cast out those selling and buying therein, ⁴⁶ saying unto them, It is written, My house is a house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves. ⁴⁷ And he taught daily in the temple. But the princes of the priests and the scribes and the principals of the people sought to kill him

¹⁴ and found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated; ¹⁵ and when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overthrew the tables ¹⁶ and said unto those that sold the doves, Take these things away from here; do not make my Father’s house a house of merchandise. ¹⁷ Then his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house has consumed me.

¹⁸ Then the king said to Doeg, Turn thou and fall upon the priests. And Doeg, the Edomite, turned and he fell upon the priests and slew on that day eighty-five men that wore a linen ephod. ¹⁹ And Nob, the city of the priests, he smote with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings and oxen and asses and sheep with the edge of the sword.

²⁹ Yet a man is risen to pursue thee and to seek thy soul, but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God, and he shall hurl forth the souls of thine enemies as out of the middle of a sling.

⁷ And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial;

¹ ¶ Then there was a famine in the days of David for three consecutive years, and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is because of Saul and because of his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent unto me lest, if thou be silent unto me, I become like those that go down into the grave. ² Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward the oracle of thy holiness. ³ Do not catch me away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their neighbours, but evil is in their hearts.

¹⁴ ¶ Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

²³ But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of the grave; bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in thee.

¹⁹ Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God; depart from me therefore, ye bloodthirsty men.

¹⁸ Therefore become ye converted, and ye shall make a difference between the just and the wicked, between him that serves God and him that did not serve him.

⁵¹ and shall cut him off and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

³² and before him shall be gathered all nations; and he shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats,

⁴⁴ Then they shall also answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister unto thee?

⁴⁶ And they shall go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

¹⁴ Blessed are those who do his commandments that their power and authority might be in the tree of life and they may enter in through the gates into the city. ¹⁵ But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the fornicators and the murderers and the idolaters and whosoever loves and makes a lie.

⁸ And thou shalt take no bribe; for the bribe blinds the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

¹⁹ Thou shalt not twist that which is right; thou shalt not respect persons neither take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous.

³ And his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after greed, receiving bribes and perverting that which is right.

¹⁴ Thou hast seen it, for thou dost behold mischief and spite to requite it with thy hand: the poor commits himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

² For, behold, the wicked bend their bow; they make ready their arrow upon the string that they may secretly shoot at the upright in heart.

⁴ He devises iniquity upon his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not abhor evil.

² Thy tongue devises wickedness like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

⁹ ¶ Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues, for I have seen violence and strife in the city. ¹⁰ Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof; iniquity also and sorrow are in the midst of it. ¹¹ Wickedness is in the midst thereof; deceit and guile depart not from her streets.

¹⁶ For their feet shall run to evil and make haste to shed blood.

¹⁶ For they do not sleep, unless they have done evil; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause someone to fall.

¹⁵ He that walks in righteousness, he that speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of violence, he that shakes his hands from receiving bribes; he that stops his ears to not hear of blood; he who shuts his eyes to not see evil;

¹² In thee they have taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion and hast forgotten me, said the Lord GOD. ¹³ Behold, therefore I have smitten my hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made and at thy blood which has been in the midst of thee.

¹² For I have known of your many rebellions and your great sins that afflict the just and take a ransom and turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.

¹ ¶ Woe unto those that devise iniquity and fabricate evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they put it into effect because they have power in their hands. ² And they coveted fields and stole them, and houses and took them away; so they oppressed the man and his house, even the man and his heritage. ³ Therefore thus hath the LORD said; Behold, I devise an evil against this family, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye walk haughtily; for the time shall be evil.

³ To complete the evil with their hands, the prince demands, and the judge judges for a reward; and the great man speaks the desires of his heart: and they confirm it.

³ Then the princes of the priests and the scribes and the elders of the people assembled together in the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, ⁴ and took counsel that they might take Jesus by guile and kill him.

¹² ¶ And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together and they vowed under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink until they had killed Paul.

² And now, behold, your king walks before you. I am old and grayheaded, and, behold, my sons are with you, and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day. ³ Behold, here I am; witness against me before the LORD and before his anointed. If I have taken anyone’s ox or if I have taken anyone’s ass or if I have defrauded anyone or if I have oppressed anyone or if I have received a bribe {Heb. ransom} from anyone to blind my eyes, I will restore it you. ⁴ And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us nor oppressed us; neither hast thou taken anything of any man’s hand. ⁵ And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day that ye have not found anything in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.

²⁰ And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah and wrought that which was good and right and true before the LORD his God. ²¹ And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God and in the law and in the commandments, he sought God and he did it with all his heart and was prospered.

¹⁵ But the former captains that had been before me had charged the people and had taken of them for bread and wine, upon forty shekels of silver; and in addition to this their servants bore rule over the people; but I did not do so because of the fear of God.

¹⁴ Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my mercies that I have done for the house of my God and for its wards.

²² And I told the Levites that they should cleanse themselves and that they should come and guard the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.

³¹ and for the wood offering, at the appointed times, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.

¹ ¶ There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and departed from evil.

¹ A Psalm of David. ¶ Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity; I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.

⁷ none of them can by any means ransom his brother, nor give God an atonement for him;

¹⁵ ¶ Surely God will ransom my soul from the hand of Sheol when he shall take me. Selah.

¹⁸ Draw near unto my soul and redeem it; deliver me because of my enemies.

³ Who forgives all thine iniquities; who heals all thy diseases; ⁴ who redeems thy life from destruction; who crowns thee with mercy and compassion;

⁷ He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the sons of Israel. ⁸ The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

³ And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

⁶ And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, blameless.

¹⁰ Ye are witnesses, and God also, of how holy and just and irreprehensible our behaviour was among you that believe,

¹⁴ who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a people of his own, zealous of good works.

¹⁸ knowing that ye have been ransomed from your vain conversation (which you received from your fathers), not with corruptible things like silver and gold, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of the Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without contamination,

²² ¶ I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee. ²³ Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. ²⁴ For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor in spirit; neither has he hid his face from him, but when he cried unto him, he heard. ²⁵ My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation; I will pay my vows before those that fear him.

⁷ That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving and tell of all thy wondrous works.

¹¹ Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a right path because of my enemies.

² He brought me up also out of the pit of hopelessness, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and straightened my steps.

³² Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

¹ ¶ Aleph Halelu-JAH. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, Beth in the company and in the congregation of the upright.

⁴ Because the tribes went up there, the tribes of JAH, the testimony to Israel, to praise the name of the LORD.

⁹ ¶ He that walks in integrity walks securely, but he that perverts his ways shall be broken.

¹² saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation I will praise thee.
