Matthew 1:1 Cross References - NHEB

¹ A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

⁴ This is the account of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, at the time when God made the earth and the heavens.

¹ This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created humankind, he made him in God's likeness.

³ And I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who treat you with contempt, and through you all the families of the earth will be blessed."

¹⁸ And through your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice."

³ Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you. For to you, and to your descendants, I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. ⁴ I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the sky, and will give to your descendants all these lands, and by your descendants will all the nations of the earth be blessed, ⁵ because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my requirements, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws."

¹³ And look, the LORD stood above it, and said, "I am the God of Abraham your grandfather, and the God of Isaac. The land on which you are lying I will give to you and to your descendants. ¹⁴ Your descendants will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. And through you and through your descendants will all the families of the earth be blessed.

¹² And it will come about when your days are fulfilled, and you sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. ¹³ He will build a house for my name, and I will establish his throne forever. ¹⁴ I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with a human rod, and with the stripes from human beings; ¹⁵ but my loving kindness I will not take from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you. ¹⁶ And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me, and your throne shall be established forever."'"

³⁶ His descendants will endure forever, his throne like the sun before me.

¹¹ The LORD has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

⁶ For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders, and his name is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ⁷ Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

¹ A branch will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a shoot out of his roots will bear fruit.

⁸ In his oppression his justice was taken away. Who will consider his generation? For his life was cut off from the earth. For the transgression of my people he was led to death.

⁵ "Look, the days come," says the LORD, "that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

¹⁵ In those days, and at that time, will I cause a Branch of righteousness to grow up to David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. ¹⁶ In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is the name by which she shall be called: "The LORD our righteousness." ¹⁷ For thus says the LORD: "David shall never want a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

²⁶ then will I also cast away the descendants of Jacob, and of David my servant, so that I will not take of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and will have mercy on them.'"

¹¹ On that day I will rebuild the tabernacle of David that has fallen, and repair its broken places, and I will rebuild its ruins, and I will restore it as in the days of old;

⁸ In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. He who is feeble among them at that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them.

¹⁸ Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened like this. His mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, and before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.

¹ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, look, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, ² "Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him."

¹⁶ And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water; and look, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.

²⁷ And as Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, "Have mercy on us, son of David."

²² And look, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders, and started shouting, saying, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David. My daughter is severely demonized."

⁴² saying, "What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is he?" They said to him, "Of David." ⁴³ He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ 'The Lord said to my Lord, sit on my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet'? ⁴⁵ "If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?"

³¹ And look, you will conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and will call his name 'Jesus.' ³² He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,

⁶⁹ and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David ⁷⁰ (as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets who have been from of old),

⁴² Hasn't the Scripture said that the Christ comes of the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?"

³⁰ Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that one of his descendants would sit on his throne,

²² When he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, to whom he also testified, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my heart, who will do all my will.' ²³ From this man's offspring, according to his promise, God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus,

³ concerning his Son, who was born of the offspring of David according to the flesh,

¹³ For the promise to Abraham and to his descendants that he should be heir of the world was not through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

⁵ of whom are the patriarchs, and from whom is the Christ, as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen.

¹⁶ Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He does not say, "And to offsprings," as of many, but as of one, "And to your offspring," which is Christ.

¹⁶ I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David; the bright morning star."
