Godbey⁽ⁱ⁾ ³ And they come to Him, carrying a paralytic, borne by four. ⁴ And not being able to come near Him on account of the crowd, they opened the roof where He was: and having lifted it up, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. ⁵ And Jesus seeing their faith says to the paralytic, Child, thy sins are forgiven thee. ⁶ And certain ones of the scribes were sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, ⁷ Why does He speak blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins, except the one God? ⁸ And Jesus immediately knowing in His spirit that they are thus reasoning among themselves, said to them, Why do you thus reason in your hearts? ⁹ Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take thy bed, and walk about? ¹⁰ But in order that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins ¹¹ (He says to the paralytic), I say unto thee, Arise, take thy bed, and go into thy house.
