4 H935 ויבא And he brought in H853 את H3548 הכהנים the priests H853 ואת H3881 הלוים and the Levites, H622 ויאספם and gathered them together H7339 לרחוב street, H4217 המזרח׃ into the east

5 H559 ויאמר And said H8085 להם שׁמעוני unto them, Hear H3881 הלוים me, ye Levites, H6258 עתה sanctify now yourselves, H6942 התקדשׁו sanctify now yourselves, H6942 וקדשׁו and sanctify H853 את H1004 בית the house H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהי God H1 אבתיכם of your fathers, H3318 והוציאו and carry forth H853 את H5079 הנדה the filthiness H4480 מן out of H6944 הקדשׁ׃ the holy

6 H3588 כי For H4603 מעלו have trespassed, H1 אבתינו our fathers H6213 ועשׂו and done H7451 הרע evil H5869 בעיני in the eyes H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהינו our God, H5800 ויעזבהו and have forsaken H5437 ויסבו him, and have turned away H6440 פניהם their faces H4908 ממשׁכן from the habitation H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5414 ויתנו and turned H6203 ערף׃ backs.

7 H1571 גם Also H5462 סגרו they have shut up H1817 דלתות the doors H197 האולם of the porch, H3518 ויכבו and put out H853 את H5216 הנרות the lamps, H7004 וקטרת incense H3808 לא and have not H6999 הקטירו burned H5930 ועלה burnt offerings H3808 לא nor H5927 העלו offered H6944 בקדשׁ in the holy H430 לאלהי unto the God H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel.

8 H1961 ויהי was H7110 קצף Wherefore the wrath H3068 יהוה of the LORD H5921 על upon H3063 יהודה Judah H3389 וירושׁלם and Jerusalem, H5414 ויתנם and he hath delivered H2113 לזועה H8047 לשׁמה to astonishment, H8322 ולשׁרקה and to hissing, H834 כאשׁר as H859 אתם ye H7200 ראים see H5869 בעיניכם׃ with your eyes.

9 H2009 והנה For, lo, H5307 נפלו have fallen H1 אבותינו our fathers H2719 בחרב by the sword, H1121 ובנינו and our sons H1323 ובנותינו and our daughters H802 ונשׁינו and our wives H7628 בשׁבי in captivity H5921 על for H2063 זאת׃ this.

10 H6258 עתה Now H5973 עם in H3824 לבבי mine heart H3772 לכרות to make H1285 ברית a covenant H3068 ליהוה with the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H7725 וישׁב may turn away H4480 ממנו from H2740 חרון that his fierce H639 אפו׃ wrath

11 H1121 בני My sons, H6258 עתה now H408 אל be not H7952 תשׁלו negligent: H3588 כי for H970 בכם בחר H3069 יהוה H5975 לעמד you to stand H6440 לפניו before H8334 לשׁרתו him, to serve H1961 ולהיות him, and that ye should minister H8334 לו משׁרתים him, and that ye should minister H6999 ומקטרים׃ unto him, and burn incense.
