¹ Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same mind: for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;

² By no means. How shall we, who are dead to sin, live in it any longer?

⁷ For he who has died is freed from sin.

¹¹ In the same way, consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

¹² The night is far gone, the day is at hand: therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. ¹³ Let us conduct ourselves properly, as in the day; not in carousing and drunkenness, not in debauchery and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its lusts.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

²⁴ And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand on the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

⁵ Let this attitude be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

³ For you are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then you shall also appear with him in glory. ⁵ Therefore, put to death what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

¹⁰ For he who has entered his rest, has also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

³ For consider him who endured such hostility from sinners against himself, lest you grow weary and fainthearted.

¹⁸ For Christ died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,
