Job 1:1-8 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and turned away from evil.

1 H376 There was a man H776 in the land H5780 of Uz, H8034 whose name H347 was Job; H376 and that man H8535 was perfect H3477 and upright, H3373 and one that feared H430 God, H5493 [H8802] and turned away from H7451 evil.

2 H3205 [H8735] And there were born H7651 to him seven H1121 sons H7969 and three H1323 daughters.

3 H4735 His substance H7651 also was seven H505 thousand H6629 sheep, H7969 and three H505 thousand H1581 camels, H2568 and five H3967 hundred H6776 yoke H1241 of oxen, H2568 and five H3967 hundred H860 female donkeys, H3966 and a very H7227 great H5657 household; H376 so that this man H1419 was the greatest H1121 of all the men H6924 of the east.

4 H1121 And his sons H1980 [H8804] went H4960 H6213 [H8804] and feasted H1004 in their houses, H376 every one H3117 his day; H7971 [H8804] and sent H7121 [H8804] and called H7969 for their three H269 sisters H398 [H8800] to eat H8354 [H8800] and to drink with them.

5 H3117 And it was so, when the days H4960 of their feasting H5362 [H8689] were ended, H347 that Job H7971 [H8799] sent H6942 [H8762] and sanctified H7925 [H8689] them, and rose early H1242 in the morning, H5927 [H8689] and offered H5930 burnt offerings H4557 according to the number H347 of them all: for Job H559 [H8804] said, H194 It may be H1121 that my sons H2398 [H8804] have sinned, H1288 [H8765] and cursed H430 God H3824 in their hearts. H6213 [H8799] Thus did H347 Job H3117 continually.

6 H3117 Now there was a day H1121 when the sons H430 of God H935 [H8799] came H3320 [H8692] to present H3068 themselves before the LORD, H7854 and Satan H935 [H8799] came H8432 also among them.

7 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H7854 to the adversary, H370 From where H935 [H8799] comest thou? H7854 Then Satan H6030 [H8799] answered H3068 the LORD, H559 [H8799] and said, H7751 [H8800] From going to and fro H776 on the earth, H1980 [H8692] and from walking up and down upon it.

8 H3068 And the LORD H559 [H8799] said H7854 to Satan, H7760 H3820 [H8804] Hast thou considered H5650 my servant H347 Job, H776 that there is none like him on the earth, H8535 a perfect H3477 and an upright H376 man, H3373 one that feareth H430 God, H5493 [H8802] and turneth away from H7451 evil?
