Jeremiah 38:14-23 Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet to him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said to Jeremiah, I will ask you a thing; hide nothing from me.

14 H6667 Then Zedekiah H4428 the king H7971 sent, H3947 and took H3414 Jeremiah H5030 the prophet H413 to him into H7992 the third H3996 entry H1004 that is in the house H3068 of the LORD: H4428 and the king H559 said H3414 to Jeremiah, H7592 I will ask H1697 you a thing; H3582 hide H408 nothing H1697 from me.

15 H3414 Then Jeremiah H559 said H6667 to Zedekiah, H518 If H5046 I declare H4191 it to you, will you not surely put me to death? H518 and if H3289 I give you counsel, H8085 will you not listen to me?

16 H6667 So Zedekiah H4428 the king H7650 swore H5643 secretly H3414 to Jeremiah, H559 saying, H3068 As the LORD H2416 lives, H6213 that made H2063 us this H5315 soul, H4191 I will not put you to death, H518 neither H5414 will I give H3027 you into the hand H428 of these H582 men H1245 that seek H5315 your life.

17 H559 Then said H3414 Jeremiah H6667 to Zedekiah, H3541 Thus H559 said H3068 the LORD, H430 the God H6635 of hosts, H430 the God H3478 of Israel; H518 If H3318 you will assuredly H3318 go H3318 forth H4428 to the king H894 of Babylon’s H8269 princes, H5315 then your soul H2421 shall live, H2063 and this H5892 city H8313 shall not be burned H784 with fire; H2421 and you shall live, H1004 and your house:

18 H518 But if H3318 you will not go H3318 forth H4428 to the king H894 of Babylon’s H8269 princes, H2063 then shall this H5892 city H5414 be given H3027 into the hand H3778 of the Chaldeans, H8313 and they shall burn H784 it with fire, H4422 and you shall not escape H3027 out of their hand.

19 H6667 And Zedekiah H4428 the king H559 said H3414 to Jeremiah, H1672 I am afraid H3064 of the Jews H5307 that are fallen H3778 to the Chaldeans, H6435 lest H5414 they deliver H3027 me into their hand, H5953 and they mock me.

20 H3414 But Jeremiah H559 said, H5414 They shall not deliver H8085 you. Obey, H4994 I beseech H6963 you, the voice H3068 of the LORD, H834 which H1696 I speak H3190 to you: so it shall be well H5315 to you, and your soul H2421 shall live.

21 H518 But if H3986 you refuse H3318 to go H3318 forth, H2088 this H1697 is the word H3068 that the LORD H7200 has showed me:

22 H2009 And, behold, H3605 all H802 the women H7604 that are left H4428 in the king H3063 of Judah’s H1004 house H3318 shall be brought H4163 forth H4428 to the king H894 of Babylon’s H8269 princes, H2007 and those H559 women shall say, H605 Your friends H7965 H5496 have set H3201 you on, and have prevailed H7272 against you: your feet H2883 are sunk H1206 in the mire, H5472 and they are turned H268 away back.

23 H4672 So they shall bring H3605 out all H802 your wives H1121 and your children H3778 to the Chaldeans: H4422 and you shall not escape H3027 out of their hand, H8610 but shall be taken H3027 by the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon: H2063 and you shall cause this H5892 city H8313 to be burned H784 with fire.
