2 G235 But G2532 even G4310 after what we had suffered before, G2532 and G5195 were shamefully treated, G2531 as G1492 you know, G1722 at G5375 Philippi, G3955 we were bold G1722 in G2257 our G2316 God G2980 to speak G4314 to G5209 you G2098 the gospel G2316 of God G1722 with G4183 much G73 contention.

3 G1063 For G2257 our G3874 exhortation G3756 was not G1537 of G4106 deceit, G3761 nor G1537 of G167 uncleanness, G3777 nor G1722 in G1388 guile:

4 G235 But G2531 as G1381 we were allowed G5259 by G2316 God G4100 to be trusted with G2098 the gospel, G3779 even so G2980 we speak; G3756 not G5613 as G700 pleasing G444 men, G235 but G2316 God, G3588 who G1381 tests G2257 our G2588 hearts.

5 G1063 For G3777 not G4218 at any time G1096 did we G2850 use flattering G3056 words, G2531 as G1492 you know, G3777 nor G4392 a cloak G4124 of covetousness; G2316 God G3144 is witness:

6 G3777 Nor G1537 from G444 men G2212 did we G1391 seek glory, G3777 not G575 from G5216 you, G3777 nor G575 from G243 others, G1410 when we might G1511 have been G922 burden - G1722 some, G5613 as G652 the apostles G5547 of Christ.

7 G235 But G1096 we were G2261 gentle G1722 among G5216 you, G302 even G5613 as G5162 a nurse G2282 cherishes G1438 her G5043 children:

8 G3779 So G2442 being affectionately desirous G5216 of you, G2106 we were willing G3330 to have given G5213 to you, G3756 not G3440 only G2098 the gospel G2316 of God, G235 but G2532 also G1438 our own G5590 souls, G1360 because G1096 you were G27 dear G2254 to us.
