Deuteronomy 20 When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them: for the Lord your God is with you, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

1 H3318 When you go out H4421 to battle H341 against your enemies, H7200 and see H5483 horses, H7393 and chariots, H5971 and a people H7227 more H3372 than you, be not afraid H3068 of them: for the Lord H430 your God H5927 is with you, which brought you up H776 out of the land H4714 of Egypt.

2 H7126 And it shall be, when you are come near H4421 unto the battle, H3548 that the priest H5066 shall approach H1696 and speak H5971 unto the people,

3 H559 And shall say H8085 unto them, Hear, H3478 O Israel, H7131 you approach H3117 this day H4421 unto battle H341 against your enemies: H3824 let not your hearts H7401 faint, H3372 fear H2648 not, and do not tremble, H6206 neither be you terrified H6440 because of them;

4 H3068 For the Lord H430 your God H1980 is he that goes H3898 with you, to fight H341 for you against your enemies, H3467 to save you.

5 H7860 And the officers H1696 shall speak H5971 unto the people, H559 saying, H376 What man H1129 is there that has built H2319 a new H1004 house, H2596 and has not dedicated H3212 it? let him go H7725 and return H1004 to his house, H4191 lest he die H4421 in the battle, H312 and another H376 man H2596 dedicate it.

6 H376 And what man H5193 is he that has planted H3754 a vineyard, H2490 and has not yet eaten H3212 of it? let him also go H7725 and return H1004 unto his house, H4191 lest he die H4421 in the battle, H312 and another H376 man H2490 eat of it.

7 H376 And what man H781 is there that has married H802 a wife, H3947 and has not taken H3212 her? let him go H7725 and return H1004 unto his house, H4191 lest he die H4421 in the battle, H312 and another H376 man H3947 take her.

8 H7860 And the officers H1696 shall speak H3254 further H5971 unto the people, H559 and they shall say, H376 What man H3373 is there that is fearful H7390 and fainthearted? H3212 let him go H7725 and return H1004 unto his house, H251 lest his brothers H3824 heart H4549 faint H3824 as well as his heart.

9 H7860 And it shall be, when the officers H3615 have made an end H1696 of speaking H5971 unto the people, H6485 that they shall make H8269 captains H6635 of the armies H7218 to lead H5971 the people.

10 H7126 When you come near H5892 unto a city H3898 to fight H7121 against it, then proclaim H7965 peace unto it.

11 H6030 And it shall be, if it make you answer H7965 of peace, H6605 and open H5971 unto you, then it shall be, that all the people H4672 that is found H4522 in it shall be tributaries H5647 unto you, and they shall serve you.

12 H7999 And if it will make no peace H6213 with you, but will make H4421 war H6696 against you, then you shall besiege it:

13 H3068 And when the Lord H430 your God H5414 has delivered H3027 it into your hands, H5221 you shall strike H2138 every male H6310 there with the edge H2719 of the sword:

14 H802 But the women, H2945 and the little ones, H929 and the cattle, H5892 and all that is in the city, H7998 even all the plunder H962 there, shall you take H398 unto yourself; and you shall eat H7998 the plunder H341 of your enemies, H3068 which the Lord H430 your God H5414 has given you.

15 H6213 Thus shall you do H5892 unto all the cities H3966 which are very H7350 far off H2007 from you, which H5892 are not of the cities H1471 of these nations.

16 H5892 But of the cities H5971 of these people, H3068 which the Lord H430 your God H5414 does give H5159 you for an inheritance, H2421 you shall save alive H5397 nothing that breathes:

17 H2763 But you shall utterly H2763 destroy H2850 them; namely, the Hittites, H567 and the Amorites, H3669 the Canaanites, H6522 and the Perizzites, H2340 the Hivites, H2983 and the Jebusites; H3068 as the Lord H430 your God H6680 has commanded you:

18 H3925 That they teach H6213 you not to do H8441 after all their abominations, H6213 which they have done H430 unto their gods; H2398 so should you sin H3068 against the Lord H430 your God.

19 H6696 When you shall besiege H5892 a city H7227 a long H3117 time, H3898 in making war H8610 against it to take H7843 it, you shall not destroy H6086 the trees H5080 there by wielding H1631 an axe H398 against them: for you may eat H3772 of them, and you shall not cut them down H6086 (for the tree H7704 of the field H120 is man's H935 life) to employ H6440 them in the siege:

20 H6086 Only the trees H3045 which you know H6086 that they be not trees H3978 for food, H7843 you shall destroy H3772 and cut them down; H1129 and you shall build H4692 bulwarks H5892 against the city H6213 that makes H4421 war H3381 with you, until it be subdued.
