THE SEVENTY YEAR CAPTIVITY
And so be the word to Yirme Yah concerning all the people of Yah Hudah in the fourth year of Yah Yaqim the son of Yoshi Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah, - the first year of Nebukadnets Tsar sovereign of Babel; 2 which Yirme Yah the prophet words to all the people of Yah Hudah and to all the settlers of Yeru Shalem, saying, 3 From the thirteenth year of Yoshi Yah the son of Amon sovereign of Yah Hudah, even to this day - the twenty-third year, so be the word of Yah Veh to me, and I worded to you, starting early and wording; and you hearkened not: 4 and Yah Veh sent to you all his servants the prophets - starting early and sending them; but you neither hearkened nor spread your ear to hear: 5 saying, Turn back, I beseech, every man from his evil way, and from the evil of your exploits, and settle in the soil Yah Veh I gave to you and to your fathers eternally and eternally: 6 and go not after other elohim to serve them and to prostrate to them; and vex me not with the works of your hands; and I vilify you not. 7 And you hearkened not to me - an oracle of Yah Veh and vexed me with the works of your hands to your own evil. 8 So thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth: Because you heard not my words, 9 Behold, I send and take all the families of the north - an oracle of Yah Veh and Nebukadnets Tsar sovereign of Babel my servant - and bring them against this land and against the settlers and against all these goyim all around; and devote them and set them a desolation and a hissing; and eternal parched areas: 10 I destroy from them the voice of rejoicing and the voice of cheerfulness; the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; the voice of the millstones and the light of the lamp: 11 and this whole land becomes a parched area and a desolation; and these goyim serve the sovereign of Babel seventy years: 12 and so be it, when seventy years fulfill, I visit on the sovereign of Babel and that goyim - an oracle of Yah Veh for their perversity - and the land of the Kesediym and set it eternal desolations: 13 and I bring on that land all the words I worded - all inscribed in this scroll which Yirme Yah prophesied against all the goyim. 14 For many goyim and great sovereigns are also served by them: and I shalam them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands. 15 For thus says Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El to me: Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and have all the goyim, to whom I send you, drink: 16 and they drink and agitate and halal at the face of the sword I send among them. 17 And I take the cup from the hand of Yah Veh and have all the goyim drink - to whom Yah Veh sent me: 18 Yeru Shalem and the cities of Yah Hudah; and the sovereigns and the governors - to give them a parched area, a desolation; a hissing and an abasement; as this day: 19 Paroh sovereign of Misrayim and his servants and his governors and all his people; 20 and all the comingled and all the sovereigns of the land of Us; and all the sovereigns of the land of the Peleshethiym; and Ashqelon and Azzah and Eqron and the survivors of Ashdod; 21 Edom and Moab and the sons of Ammon; 22 and all the sovereigns of Sor; and all the sovereigns of Sidon; and the sovereigns of the islands beyond the sea; 23 Dedan and Tema and Buz and all who chop the edges; 24 and all the sovereigns of Arabia; and all the sovereigns of the comingled who tabernacle in the wilderness; 25 and all the sovereigns of Zimri; and all the sovereigns of Elam; and all the sovereigns of the Maday; 26 and all the sovereigns of the north, far and near, man with brother; and all the sovereigndoms of the earth on the face of the soil: and the sovereigns of Sheshach drink after them. 27 And say to them, Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth Elohim of Yisra El: You, drink and intoxicate and vomit and fall and rise no more at the face of the sword I send among you. 28 And so be it, if they refuse to take the cup at your hand to drink then you say to them, Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth; In drinking, drink! 29 For, behold, I begin to vilify the city on which my name is called. And in exonerating, are you exonerated? You are not unpunished: for I call for a sword on all the settlers of the earth - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth. 30 So prophesy all these words against them and say to them, Yah Veh roars from on high and gives his voice from his holy habitation of rest; in roaring, he roars on his habitation of rest; he answers as they who tread against all the settlers of the earth. 31 An uproar approaches the ends of the earth; for Yah Veh has a controversy with the goyim: he judges all flesh; he gives the wicked to the sword - an oracle of Yah Veh. 32 Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth, Behold, evil goes from goyim to goyim and a great storm wakens from the flanks of the earth: 33 And so be the pierced of Yah Veh at that day from end of the earth even to end of the earth: neither chopped over nor gathered nor entombed; they become as dung on the face of the soil. 34 Howl, you tenders, and cry; and wallow yourselves, you mighty of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your scatterings are fulfilled; and you fall as an instrument of desire: 35 and flight destructs from the tenders and escape from the mighty of the flock 36 - a voice of the cry of the tenders and a howling of the mighty of the flock: for Yah Veh ravages their pasture: 37 and severs the folds of shalom at the face of the fuming wrath of Yah Veh. 38 He forsakes his sukkoth/brush arbor as the whelp: surely their land is desolate at the face of the fuming of the oppressor and at the face of his fuming wrath.
