  2 H5221 And he smote [H8686]   H4124 Moab H4124 ; and the Moabites H1732 became David's H5650 servants H5375 , and brought [H8802]   H4503 gifts.
  3 H1732 And David H5221 smote [H8686]   H1928 Hadarezer H4428 king H6678 of Zobah H2574 unto Hamath H3212 , as he went [H8800]   H5324 to stablish [H8687]   H3027 his dominion H5104 by the river H6578 Euphrates.
  4 H1732 And David H3920 took [H8799]   H505 from him a thousand H7393 chariots H7651 , and seven H505 thousand H6571 horsemen H6242 , and twenty H505 thousand H376 footmen H7273   H1732 : David H6131 also houghed [H8762]   H7393 all the chariot H3498 horses, but reserved [H8686]   H3967 of them an hundred H7393 chariots.
  5 H758 And when the Syrians H1834 of Damascus H935 came [H8799]   H5826 to help [H8800]   H1928 Hadarezer H4428 king H6678 of Zobah H1732 , David H5221 slew [H8686]   H758 of the Syrians H8147 two H6242 and twenty H505 thousand H376 men.
  6 H1732 Then David H7760 put [H8799]   H758 garrisons in Syriadamascus H1834   H758 ; and the Syrians H1732 became David's H5650 servants H5375 , and brought [H8802]   H4503 gifts H3068 . Thus the LORD H3467 preserved [H8686]   H1732 David H1980 whithersoever he went [H8804]  .
  7 H1732 And David H3947 took [H8799]   H7982 the shields H2091 of gold H5650 that were on the servants H1928 of Hadarezer H935 , and brought [H8686]   H3389 them to Jerusalem.

  14 H1732 So David H4427 reigned [H8799]   H3478 over all Israel H6213 , and executed [H8802]   H4941 judgment H6666 and justice H5971 among all his people.

ERV(i) 1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines. 2 And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought presents. 3 And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates. 4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots. 5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadarezer king of Zobah, David smote of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men. 6 Then David put [garrisons] in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought presents. And the LORD gave victory to David whithersoever he went. 7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. 8 And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass. 9 And when Tou king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah, 10 he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him; for Hadarezer had wars with Tou; and [he had with him] all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass. 11 These also did king David dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. 12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah smote of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand. 13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the LORD gave victory to David whithersoever he went. 14 And David reigned over all Israel; and he executed judgment and justice unto all his people. 15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder. 16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe; 17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
