2 Kings 23:2-20

  2 H4428 And the king H5927 went up [H8799]   H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD H376 , and all the men H3063 of Judah H3427 and all the inhabitants [H8802]   H3389 of Jerusalem H3548 with him, and the priests H5030 , and the prophets H5971 , and all the people H6996 , both small H1419 and great H7121 : and he read [H8799]   H241 in their ears H1697 all the words H5612 of the book H1285 of the covenant H4672 which was found [H8737]   H1004 in the house H3068 of the LORD.

  3 H4428 And the king H5975 stood [H8799]   H5982 by a pillar H3772 , and made [H8799]   H1285 a covenant H6440 before H3068 the LORD H3212 , to walk [H8800]   H310 after H3068 the LORD H8104 , and to keep [H8800]   H4687 his commandments H5715 and his testimonies H2708 and his statutes H3820 with all their heart H5315 and all their soul H6965 , to perform [H8687]   H1697 the words H1285 of this covenant H3789 that were written [H8803]   H5612 in this book H5971 . And all the people H5975 stood [H8799]   H1285 to the covenant.

  4 H4428 And the king H6680 commanded [H8762]   H2518 Hilkiah H1419 the high H3548 priest H3548 , and the priests H4932 of the second order H8104 , and the keepers [H8802]   H5592 of the door H3318 , to bring forth [H8687]   H1964 out of the temple H3068 of the LORD H3627 all the vessels H6213 that were made [H8803]   H1168 for Baal H842 , and for the grove H6635 , and for all the host H8064 of heaven H8313 : and he burned [H8799]   H2351 them without H3389 Jerusalem H7709 in the fields H6939 of Kidron H5375 , and carried [H8804]   H6083 the ashes H1008 of them unto Bethel.

  5 H7673 And he put down [H8689]   H3649 the idolatrous priests H4428 , whom the kings H3063 of Judah H5414 had ordained [H8804]   H6999 to burn incense [H8762]   H1116 in the high places H5892 in the cities H3063 of Judah H4524 , and in the places round about H3389 Jerusalem H6999 ; them also that burned incense [H8764]   H1168 unto Baal H8121 , to the sun H3394 , and to the moon H4208 , and to the planets H6635 , and to all the host H8064 of heaven.

  6 H3318 And he brought out [H8686]   H842 the grove H1004 from the house H3068 of the LORD H2351 , without H3389 Jerusalem H5158 , unto the brook H6939 Kidron H8313 , and burned [H8799]   H5158 it at the brook H6939 Kidron H1854 , and stamped it small [H8686]   H6083 to powder H7993 , and cast [H8686]   H6083 the powder H6913 thereof upon the graves H1121 of the children H5971 of the people.

  7 H5422 And he brake down [H8799]   H1004 the houses H6945 of the sodomites H1004 , that were by the house H3068 of the LORD H802 , where the women H707 wove [H8802]   H1004 hangings H842 for the grove.

  8 H935 And he brought [H8686]   H3548 all the priests H5892 out of the cities H3063 of Judah H2930 , and defiled [H8762]   H1116 the high places H3548 where the priests H6999 had burned incense [H8765]   H1387 , from Geba H884 to Beersheba H5422 , and brake down [H8804]   H1116 the high places H8179 of the gates H6607 that were in the entering in H8179 of the gate H3091 of Joshua H8269 the governor H5892 of the city H376 , which were on a man's H8040 left hand H8179 at the gate H5892 of the city.

  9 H3548 Nevertheless the priests H1116 of the high places H5927 came not up [H8799]   H4196 to the altar H3068 of the LORD H3389 in Jerusalem H398 , but they did eat [H8804]   H4682 of the unleavened bread H8432 among H251 their brethren.

  10 H2930 And he defiled [H8765]   H8612 Topheth H1516 , which is in the valley H1121 of the children [H8675]   H1121   H2011 of Hinnom H376 , that no man H1121 might make his son H1323 or his daughter H5674 to pass through [H8687]   H784 the fire H4432 to Molech.

  11 H7673 And he took away [H8686]   H5483 the horses H4428 that the kings H3063 of Judah H5414 had given [H8804]   H8121 to the sun H935 , at the entering in [H8800]   H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD H3957 , by the chamber H5419 of Nathanmelech H5631 the chamberlain H6503 , which was in the suburbs H8313 , and burned [H8804]   H4818 the chariots H8121 of the sun H784 with fire.

  12 H4196 And the altars H1406 that were on the top H5944 of the upper chamber H271 of Ahaz H4428 , which the kings H3063 of Judah H6213 had made [H8804]   H4196 , and the altars H4519 which Manasseh H6213 had made [H8804]   H8147 in the two H2691 courts H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD H4428 , did the king H5422 beat down [H8804]   H7323 , and brake them down [H8799]   H7993 from thence, and cast [H8689]   H6083 the dust H5158 of them into the brook H6939 Kidron.

  13 H1116 And the high places H6440 that were before H3389 Jerusalem H3225 , which were on the right hand H2022 of the mount H4889 of corruption H8010 , which Solomon H4428 the king H3478 of Israel H1129 had builded [H8804]   H6253 for Ashtoreth H8251 the abomination H6722 of the Zidonians H3645 , and for Chemosh H8251 the abomination H4124 of the Moabites H4445 , and for Milcom H8441 the abomination H1121 of the children H5983 of Ammon H4428 , did the king H2930 defile [H8765]  .

  14 H7665 And he brake in pieces [H8765]   H4676 the images H3772 , and cut down [H8799]   H842 the groves H4390 , and filled [H8762]   H4725 their places H6106 with the bones H120 of men.

  15 H4196 Moreover the altar H1008 that was at Bethel H1116 , and the high place H3379 which Jeroboam H1121 the son H5028 of Nebat H3478 , who made Israel H2398 to sin [H8689]   H6213 , had made [H8804]   H4196 , both that altar H1116 and the high place H5422 he brake down [H8804]   H8313 , and burned [H8799]   H1116 the high place H1854 , and stamped [H8689]   H6083 it small to powder H8313 , and burned [H8804]   H842 the grove.

  16 H2977 And as Josiah H6437 turned [H8799]   H7200 himself, he spied [H8799]   H6913 the sepulchres H2022 that were there in the mount H7971 , and sent [H8799]   H3947 , and took [H8799]   H6106 the bones H6913 out of the sepulchres H8313 , and burned [H8799]   H4196 them upon the altar H2930 , and polluted [H8762]   H1697 it, according to the word H3068 of the LORD H376 which the man H430 of God H7121 proclaimed [H8804]   H7121 , who proclaimed [H8804]   H1697 these words.

  17 H559 Then he said [H8799]   H6725 , What title H1975 is that H7200 that I see [H8802]   H582 ? And the men H5892 of the city H559 told [H8799]   H6913 him, It is the sepulchre H376 of the man H430 of God H935 , which came [H8804]   H3063 from Judah H7121 , and proclaimed [H8799]   H1697 these things H6213 that thou hast done [H8804]   H4196 against the altar H1008 of Bethel.

  18 H559 And he said [H8799]   H3240 , Let him alone [H8685]   H376 ; let no man H5128 move [H8686]   H6106 his bones H6106 . So they let his bones H4422 alone [H8762]   H6106 , with the bones H5030 of the prophet H935 that came out [H8804]   H8111 of Samaria.

  19 H1004 And all the houses H1116 also of the high places H5892 that were in the cities H8111 of Samaria H4428 , which the kings H3478 of Israel H6213 had made [H8804]   H3707 to provoke the LORD to anger [H8687]   H2977 , Josiah H5493 took away [H8689]   H6213 , and did [H8799]   H4639 to them according to all the acts H6213 that he had done [H8804]   H1008 in Bethel.

  20 H2076 And he slew [H8799]   H3548 all the priests H1116 of the high places H4196 that were there upon the altars H8313 , and burned [H8799]   H120 men's H6106 bones H7725 upon them, and returned [H8799]   H3389 to Jerusalem.
