Kemudian ia pergi ke Rumah TUHAN dan membentangkan surat itu di hadapan TUHAN, ¹⁵ lalu berdoa, katanya,

Italian⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹¹ Ecco, tu hai inteso quello che i re degli Assiri hanno fatto a tutti gli altri paesi, distruggendoli; e tu scamperesti? ¹² Gl’Iddii delle genti, che i miei padri distrussero, cioè: di Gozan, di Haran, di Resef, e de’ figliuoli di Eden, che sono in Telasar, le hanno essi liberate? ¹³ Dove è il re di Hamat, e il re di Arpad, e il re della città di Sefarvaim, di Hena, e di Ivva? ¹⁴ Quando Ezechia ebbe ricevute quelle lettere, per mano di que’ messi, e le ebbe lette, salì alla Casa del Signore, e le spiegò davanti al Signore. ¹⁵ Ed Ezechia fece orazione al Signore, dicendo:

Nejaugi tu būsi išgelbėtas? ¹² Argi tų tautų, kurias mano tėvai sunaikino, dievai išgelbėjo Gozaną, Charaną, Recefą ir Edeno vaikus, gyvenusius Telasare? ¹³ Kur yra Hamato, Arpado, Sefarvaimų, Henos ir Ivos miestų karaliai?’ ” ¹⁴ Ezekijas paėmė laišką iš pasiuntinių ir perskaitė jį. Po to, nuėjęs į Viešpaties namus, išskleidė jį Viešpaties akivaizdoje. ¹⁵ Ezekijas meldėsi, sakydamas:

Apoi s'a suit la Casa Domnului, a întins -o înaintea Domnului, ¹⁵ şi i -a făcut următoarea rugăciune:
