Men schulen crie, and alle the dwelleris of the lond schulen yelle, 3 for the noise of boost of armed men, and of werriours of hym, and for mouyng of hise cartis, and multitude of hise wheelis. Fadris bihelden not sones with clumsid hondis, 4 for the comyng of the dai in which alle Filisteis schulen be destried; and Tirus schal be destried, and Sidon with alle her othere helpis. For the Lord hath destried Palestyns, the remenauntis of the ile of Capadocie. 5 Ballidnesse cam on Gaza; Ascolon was stille, and the remenauntis of the valei of tho. 6 Hou longe schalt thou falle doun, O! swerd of the Lord, hou long schalt thou not reste? Entre thou in to thi schethe, be thou refreischid, and be stille. 7 Hou schal it reste, whanne the Lord comaundide to it ayens Ascalon, and ayens the see coostis therof, and there hath seide to it?
Coverdale(i) 1 These are the wordes, that the LORDE spake vnto Ieremy the prophet agaynst the Phylistines, before that Pharao smote the cite off Gaza. 2 Thus saieth the LORDE: Beholde, there shall waters arise out off the north: and shall growe to a greate floude, runnynge ouer and couerynge the londe, the cities and them that dwell therin. And the men shall crie, and all they that dwell in the londe, shall mourne 3 at the noyse and stampynge off their stronge barded horses, at the shakynge off their charettes, and at the romblinge off the wheles. The fathers shall not loke to their children, so feable and weery shall their hondes be: 4 at the same tyme, when he shal be there, to destroye the whole londe off the Phylistynes. He shall make waist both Tirus, Sidon ad all other that are sworne vnto them. For the LORDE will destroye all Palestina, and the other Iles, that be deuyded fro the countre. 5 Baldnesse is come vpon Gaza, Ascalon with hir other valleys shall kepe hir peace. How longe wilt thou slaye, 6 O thou swearde off the LORDE? Turne agayne in to ye sheeth, reste, and leaue off. 7 But how can it ceasse, when the LORDE himselff hath geuen it a charge agaynst Ascalon, and raysed it vp agaynst the cities off the see coast?
MSTC(i) 1 These are the words that the LORD spake unto Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote the city of Gaza. 2 "Thus sayeth the LORD: Behold, there shall waters arise out of the North: And shall grow to a great flood, running over and covering the land, the cities, and them that dwell therein. And the men shall cry, and all they that dwell in the land 3 shall mourn at the noise and stamping of their strong barbed horses, at the shaking of their chariots and at the rumbling of the wheels. The fathers shall not look to their children, so feeble and weary shall their hands be: 4 at the same time when he shall be there to destroy the whole land of the Philistines. He shall make waste both Tyre and Sidon and all others that are sworn unto them. For the LORD will destroy all Philistia, and the other Isles that be divided from the country. 5 Baldness is come upon Gaza. Ashkelon with her other valleys shall keep her peace. How long wilt thou slay, 6 O thou sword of the LORD? Turn again unto thy sheath; rest, and leave off. 7 But how can it cease, when the LORD himself hath given him a charge against Ashkelon, and raised it up against the cities of the sea coast?"
Matthew(i) 1 These are the wordes, that the Lorde spake vnto Ieremye the Prophete agaynste the Phylystines, before the Pharao smote the cytye of Azah. 2 Thus sayeth the Lorde: Beholde, there shall waters aryse oute of the Northe: & shall growe to a greate floude, runnynge ouer and coueryng the land, the cytyes, and them that dwell therein. Leeser(i) 1 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before the time that Pharaoh smote Gazzah. 2 Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, waters are coming up out of the north, and they shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land, and what filleth it; the city, and those that dwell therein: and the men shall cry aloud, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail. 3 Because of the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his stud-horses, because of the rushing sound of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, fathers do not turn round to their children from their feebleness of hands; 4 Because of the day that cometh to devastate all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth; for the Lord devastateth the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphthor. 5 Baldness is come upon Gazzah; ruined is Ashkelon with the remnant of their valley: how long yet wilt thou cut thyself? 6 Woe! thou sword of the Lord, how long yet wilt thou not be quiet? withdraw thyself into thy scabbard, take thee rest, and be still. 7 Yet how canst thou be quiet? When the Lord hath given it a charge, against Ashkelon, and against the sea-coast—thither hath he destined it.
YLT(i) 1 That which hath been the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh smiteth Gaza: 2 `Thus said Jehovah: Lo, waters are coming up from the north, And have been for an overflowing stream, And they overflow the land and its fulness, The city, and the inhabitants in it, And men have cried out, And howled hath every inhabitant of the land. 3 From the sound of the stamping of the hoofs of his mighty ones, From the rushing of his chariot, the noise of his wheels, Fathers have not turned unto sons, From feebleness of hands, 4 Because of the day that hath come to spoil all the Philistines, To cut off to Tyre and to Zidon every helping remnant. For Jehovah is spoiling the Philistines, The remnant of the isle of Caphtor. 5 Come hath baldness unto Gaza, Cut off hath been Ashkelon, O remnant of their valley, Till when dost thou cut thyself? 6 Ho, sword of Jehovah, till when art thou not quiet? Be removed unto thy sheath, rest and cease. 7 How shall it be quiet, And Jehovah hath given a charge to it, Against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? There hath He appointed it!'

CLV(i) 1 That which has been the word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh smites Gaza:" 2 `Thus said Yahweh:Lo, waters are coming up from the north, And have been for an overflowing stream, And they overflow the land and its fulness, The city, and the inhabitants in it, And men have cried out, And howled has every inhabitant of the land." 3 From the sound of the stamping of the hoofs of his mighty ones, From the rushing of his chariot, the noise of his wheels, Fathers have not turned unto sons, From feebleness of hands, 4 Because of the day that has come to spoil all the Philistines, To cut off to Tyre and to Zidon every helping remnant. For Yahweh is spoiling the Philistines, The remnant of the isle of Caphtor." 5 Come has baldness unto Gaza, Cut off has been Ashkelon, O remnant of their valley, Till when do you cut yourself? 6 Ho, sword of Yahweh, till when are you not quiet? Be removed unto your sheath, rest and cease." 7 How shall it be quiet, And Yahweh has given a charge to it, Against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? There has He appointed it!'"
BBE(i) 1 The word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah the prophet about the Philistines, before Pharaoh's attack on Gaza. 2 This is what the Lord has said: See, waters are coming up out of the north, and will become an overflowing stream, overflowing the land and everything in it, the town and those who are living in it; and men will give a cry, and all the people of the land will be crying out in pain. 3 At the noise of the stamping of the feet of his war-horses, at the rushing of his carriages and the thunder of his wheels, fathers will give no thought to their children, because their hands are feeble; 4 Because of the day which is coming with destruction on all the Philistines, cutting off from Tyre and Zidon the last of their helpers: for the Lord will send destruction on the Philistines, the rest of the sea-land of Caphtor. 5 The hair is cut off from the head of Gaza; Ashkelon has come to nothing; the last of the Anakim are deeply wounding themselves. 6 O sword of the Lord, how long will you have no rest? put yourself back into your cover; be at peace, be quiet. 7 How is it possible for it to be quiet, seeing that the Lord has given it orders? against Ashkelon and against the sea-land he has given it directions.

WORD AGAINST THE PELESHETHIYM
And so be the word of Yah Veh to Yirme Yah the prophet against the Peleshethiym ere Paroh smote Azzah. 2 Thus says Yah Veh: Behold, waters ascending from the north become an overflowing wadi; and overflow the land and its fulness - the city and they who settle therein: and humanity cries out and all the settlers of the land howl. 3 At the voice of the stamping of the hoofs of his mighty, at the quake of his chariots, and at the roar of his wheels, the fathers face not the sons for slackness of hands; 4 because of the day that comes to ravage all the Peleshethiym; and to cut off from Sor and Sidon every survivor who helps: for Yah Veh ravages the Peleshethiym, the survivors of the island of Kaphtor. 5 Baldness comes on Azzah; Ashkelon is severed with the survivors of their valley: How long incise you yourself? 6 Ho, you sword of Yah Veh, how long ere you rest? Gather your sheath; rest and hush. 7 How rests it, seeing Yah Veh misvahs against Ashkelon? - and against the sea haven? There he congregates.

LXX2012(i) 1 The word that came from the Lord to Jeremias, after that Nabuzardan the captain of the guard had let him go out of Rama, when he had taken him in manacles in the midst of the captivity of Juda, [even] those who were carried to Babylon. 2 And the chief captain of the guard took him, and said to him, The Lord your God has pronounced all these evils upon this place: 3 and the Lord has done it; because you⌃ sinned against him, and listened not to his voice. 4 Behold, I have loosed you from the manacles that were upon your hands. If it seem good to you to go with me to Babylon, then will I set mine eyes upon you. 5 But if not, depart; return to Godolias the son of Achicam, the son of Saphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed governor in the land of Juda, and dwell with him in the midst of the people in the land of Juda: to whatever places it seems good in your eyes to go, do you even go. And the captain of the guard made him presents, and let him go. 6 And he came to Godolias to Massepha, and lived in the midst of his people that was left in the land. 7 And all the leaders of the host that was in the country, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Godolias [governor] in the land, and they committed to him the men and their wives, whom [Nabuchodonosor had] not removed to Babylon. 8 And there came to Godolias to Massepha Ismael the son of Nathanias, and Joanan son of Caree, and Saraeas the son of Thanaemeth, and the sons of Jophe the Netophathite, and Ezonias son of the Mochathite, they and their men. 9 And Godolias swore to them and to their men, saying, Be not afraid before the children of the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be better for you. 10 And, behold, I dwell in your presence at Massepha, to stand before the Chaldeans who shall come against you: and do you⌃ gather grapes, and fruits, and oil, and put [them] into your vessels, and dwell in the cities which you⌃ have obtained possession of. 11 And all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and those [that were] in Idumea, and those [that were] in all [the rest of] the country, heard that the king of Babylon [had] granted a remnant to Juda, and that he had appointed over them Godolias the son of Achicam. 12 And they came to Godolias into the land of Juda, to Massepha, and gathered grapes, and very much summer fruit, and oil. 13 And Joanan the son of Caree, and all the leaders of the host, who were in the fields, came to Godolias to Massepha, 14 and said to him, Do you indeed know that king Beleissa son of Ammon has sent Ismael to you to kill you? But Godolias believed them not. 15 And Joanan said to Godolias secretly in Massepha, I will go now and strike Ismael, and let no man know [it]; lest he kill you, and all the Jews that are gathered to you be dispersed, and the remnant of Juda perish. 16 But Godolias said to Joanan, Do not the thing, for you speak lies concerning Ismael.

Fathers who lack courage abandon their children. 4 The time has come to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon any Philistine who might have escaped to get help. Jehovah will destroy the Philistines and anyone who is left from the island of Crete. 5 »Gaza will shave its head in mourning. Ashkelon will be destroyed. How long will you cut yourselves, you people left on the plains? 6 »You cry out: Sword of Jehovah, how long will you keep on fighting? Go back into your sheath. The fathers will not turn back for their sons; their hands will hang limp. 4 For the day has come to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every remaining ally. Indeed, the LORD is about to destroy the Philistines, the remnant from the coasts of Caphtor. 5 The people of Gaza will shave their heads in mourning; Ashkelon will be silenced. O remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourself? 6 ‘Alas, O sword of the LORD, how long until you rest? Return to your sheath; cease and be still!’ 7 How can it rest when the LORD has commanded it? He has appointed it against Ashkelon and the shore of its coastland.”
MLV(i) 1 The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh killed* Gaza. 2 Jehovah says thus: Behold, waters rise up out of the north and will become an overflowing stream and will overflow the land and all that is in it, the city and those who dwell in it. And the men will cry and all the inhabitants of the land will wail 3 at the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong ones, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels. The fathers do not look back to their sons for feebleness of hands, 4 because of the day that comes to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains. For Jehovah will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor. 5 Baldness has come upon Gaza. Ashkelon is brought to nothing, the remnant of their valley. How long will you cut yourself?
6 O you sword of Jehovah, how long will you be quiet? Put up yourself into your scabbard. Rest and be still. 7 How can you be quiet, since Jehovah has given you a charge against Ashkelon and against the sea-shore. He has appointed it there.

VIN(i) 1 This is the word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh conquered Gaza. 2 This is what the LORD says: "Look, waters are rising from the north, and they'll become an overflowing river. They'll overflow the land and all that fills it the city and those that live in it. People will cry out, and all those living in the land will wail. 3 »They will hear the sound of galloping warhorses, the rattling of enemy chariots, and the rumbling of their wheels. Fathers who lack courage abandon their children. 4 for the day is coming to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains. For the LORD is destroying the Philistines, the remnant of the coastlands of Caphtor. 5 Baldness is coming to Gaza. Ashkelon is silenced. remnant of their valley, how long will you gash yourself? 6 O you sword of the LORD, how long will you be quiet? Put up yourself into your scabbard. Rest and be still. 7 How can it be quiet, since the LORD has given it a command? He has set it there against Ashkelon, and against the seashore.

I ljudi vapiju, i kukaju svi žitelji zemlje, 3 uz tutanj kopita njegove ždrebadi, uza štropot kola i tresku točkova.
Proti Aškalon a proti břehu mořskému, tam postavil jej.

Wszak mu Pan przykazał; przeciwko Aszkalonowi i przeciwko brzegowi morskiemu, tam go postawił.
Sabie a Domnului, cînd te vei odihni odată? Întoarce-te în teacă, opreşte-te şi fii liniştită!`` - 7 ,,Dar cum ar putea să se odihnească? Cînd Domnul doar îi porunceşte, şi o îndreaptă împotriva Ascalonului şi coastei mării.``
