³ For the time past was sufficient for doing the things the Gentiles desire to do: living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, revelling, carousing, and abominable idolatries.

²² Covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lustfulness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness:

³⁰ Those times of ignorance God overlooked; but now he commands all men everywhere to repent:

²⁰ For since the creation of the world his invisible nature, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly seen, being understood by the things that have been made; so that they are without excuse: ²¹ Because, though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God, nor were they thankful; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish hearts were darkened. ²² Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, ²³ And exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. ²⁴ Therefore God gave them up, through the lusts of their own hearts, to sexual impurity, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves: ²⁵ Because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. ²⁶ For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women exchanged natural relations for that which is against nature: ²⁷ And likewise the men, leaving their natural relations with woman, burned in their lust toward one another; men with men doing that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. ²⁸ And as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper. ²⁹ They were filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malevolence; whisperers, ³⁰ Slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ Without understanding, untrustworthy, without natural affection, unmerciful: ³² Who knowing the just decree of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do these things, but applaud those who practice them.

¹² Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. ¹³ For if you live according to the flesh, you shall die: but if through the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.

¹³ Let us conduct ourselves properly, as in the day; not in carousing and drunkenness, not in debauchery and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy.

¹¹ And such were some of you: but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

² You know that when you were pagans, you were carried away by these dumb idols, however you were led.

²¹ And I fear that, when I come again, my God may humble me before you, and I shall mourn over many who have sinned and have not repented of the impurity and sexual sin and licentiousness which they have committed.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are obvious; they are; sexual immorality, impurity, licentiousness,

²¹ Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like: of which I forewarn you, as I have also warned you in the past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

² In which you walked in times past, according to the ways of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience. ³ Among them we all lived in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, like the others.

¹⁷ This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as other Gentiles walk, in the futility of their minds, ¹⁸ Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their hearts: ¹⁹ Who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to licentiousness, greedy to practice all kinds of uncleanness.

¹⁸ And do not be drunk with wine, which is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit;

⁵ Not in the lust of passion, as the Gentiles who do not know God:

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaves to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy; hated, and hating one another.

¹⁴ Live as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the lusts of your former ignorance:

⁴ For certain men have crept in secretly, who were long ago ordained for this condemnation; ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into licentiousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

⁴ And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and of the filthiness of her adulteries: ⁵ And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
