  4 H935 ויבא And there came H1982 הלך a traveler H376 לאישׁ man, H6223 העשׁיר unto the rich H2550 ויחמל and he spared H3947 לקחת to take H6629 מצאנו of his own flock H1241 ומבקרו and of his own herd, H6213 לעשׂות to dress H732 לארח for the wayfaring man H935 הבא that was come H3947 לו ויקח unto him; but took H853 את   H3535 כבשׂת lamb, H376 האישׁ man's H7326 הראשׁ the poor H6213 ויעשׂה and dressed H376 לאישׁ it for the man H935 הבא that was come H413 אליו׃ to

  5 H2734 ויחר kindled H639 אף anger H1732 דוד And David's H376 באישׁ against the man; H3966 מאד was greatly H559 ויאמר and he said H413 אל to H5416 נתן Nathan, H2416 חי liveth, H3068 יהוה the LORD H3588 כי shall surely die: H1121 בן   H4194 מות   H376 האישׁ the man H6213 העשׂה that hath done H2063 זאת׃ this

  7 H559 ויאמר said H5416 נתן And Nathan H413 אל to H1732 דוד David, H859 אתה Thou H376 האישׁ the man. H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H595 אנכי I H4886 משׁחתיך anointed H4428 למלך thee king H5921 על over H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H595 ואנכי and I H5337 הצלתיך delivered H3027 מיד thee out of the hand H7586 שׁאול׃ of Saul;

  13 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד And David H413 אל unto H5416 נתן Nathan, H2398 חטאתי I have sinned H3068 ליהוה against the LORD. H559 ויאמר said H5416 נתן And Nathan H413 אל unto H1732 דוד David, H1571 גם also H3068 יהוה The LORD H5674 העביר hath put away H2403 חטאתך thy sin; H3808 לא thou shalt not H4191 תמות׃ die.

  15 H1980 וילך departed H5416 נתן And Nathan H413 אל unto H1004 ביתו his house. H5062 ויגף struck H3068 יהוה And the LORD H853 את   H3206 הילד the child H834 אשׁר that H3205 ילדה bore H802 אשׁת wife H223 אוריה Uriah's H1732 לדוד unto David, H605 ויאנשׁ׃ and it was very sick.

  18 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H3117 ביום day, H7637 השׁביעי on the seventh H4191 וימת died. H3206 הילד that the child H3372 ויראו feared H5650 עבדי And the servants H1732 דוד of David H5046 להגיד to tell H3588 לו כי him that H4191 מת was dead: H3206 הילד the child H3588 כי for H559 אמרו they said, H2009 הנה Behold, H1961 בהיות was H3206 הילד while the child H2416 חי yet alive, H1696 דברנו we spoke H413 אליו unto H3808 ולא him, and he would not H8085 שׁמע hearken H6963 בקולנו unto our voice: H349 ואיך how H559 נאמר himself, if we tell H413 אליו himself, if we tell H4191 מת is dead? H3206 הילד him that the child H6213 ועשׂה will he then vex H7451 רעה׃ will he then vex

  19 H7200 וירא saw H1732 דוד But when David H3588 כי that H5650 עבדיו his servants H3907 מתלחשׁים whispered, H995 ויבן perceived H1732 דוד David H3588 כי that H4191 מת was dead: H3206 הילד the child H559 ויאמר said H1732 דוד therefore David H413 אל unto H5650 עבדיו his servants, H4191 המת dead? H3206 הילד Is the child H559 ויאמרו And they said, H4191 מת׃ He is dead.

  20 H6965 ויקם arose H1732 דוד Then David H776 מהארץ from the earth, H7364 וירחץ and washed, H5480 ויסך and anointed H2498 ויחלף and changed H8071 שׂמלתו his apparel, H935 ויבא and came H1004 בית into the house H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H7812 וישׁתחו and worshiped: H935 ויבא then he came H413 אל to H1004 ביתו his own house; H7592 וישׁאל and when he required, H7760 וישׂימו they set H3899 לו לחם bread H398 ויאכל׃ before him, and he did eat.

  21 H559 ויאמרו Then said H5650 עבדיו his servants H413 אליו unto H4100 מה him, What H1697 הדבר thing H2088 הזה this H834 אשׁר that H6213 עשׂיתה thou hast done? H5668 בעבור while H3206 הילד for the child, H2416 חי alive; H6684 צמת thou didst fast H1058 ותבך and weep H834 וכאשׁר but when H4191 מת was dead, H3206 הילד the child H6965 קמת thou didst rise H398 ותאכל and eat H3899 לחם׃ bread.

  23 H6258 ועתה But now H4191 מת he is dead, H4100 למה wherefore H2088 זה wherefore H589 אני should I H6684 צם fast? H3201 האוכל can H7725 להשׁיבו I bring him back H5750 עוד again? H589 אני I H1980 הלך shall go H413 אליו to H1931 והוא him, but he H3808 לא shall not H7725 ישׁוב return H413 אלי׃ to

  24 H5162 וינחם comforted H1732 דוד And David H853 את   H1339 בת\'ceשׁבע Bath-sheba H802 אשׁתו his wife, H935 ויבא and went H413 אליה in unto H7901 וישׁכב her, and lay H5973 עמה with H3205 ותלד her: and she bore H1121 בן a son, H7121 ויקרא and he called H853 את   H8034 שׁמו his name H8010 שׁלמה Solomon: H3068 ויהוה and the LORD H157 אהבו׃ loved

  27 H7971 וישׁלח sent H3097 יואב And Joab H4397 מלאכים messengers H413 אל to H1732 דוד David, H559 ויאמר and said, H3898 נלחמתי I have fought H7237 ברבה against Rabbah, H1571 גם and H3920 לכדתי have taken H853 את   H5892 עיר the city H4325 המים׃ of waters.

  5 H559 ויאמר said H3082 לו יהונדב   H7901 שׁכב unto him, Lay thee down H5921 על on H4904 משׁכבך thy bed, H2470 והתחל and make thyself sick: H935 ובא cometh H1 אביך and when thy father H7200 לראותך to see H559 ואמרת thee, say H413 אליו unto H935 תבא come, H4994 נא him, I pray thee, H8559 תמר Tamar H269 אחותי let my sister H1262 ותברני and give H3899 לחם me meat, H6213 ועשׂתה and dress H5869 לעיני in my sight, H853 את   H1279 הבריה the meat H4616 למען that H834 אשׁר that H7200 אראה I may see H398 ואכלתי and eat H3027 מידה׃ at her hand.

  6 H7901 וישׁכב lay down, H550 אמנון So Amnon H2470 ויתחל and made himself sick: H935 ויבא was come H4428 המלך and when the king H7200 לראתו to see H559 ויאמר said H550 אמנון him, Amnon H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king, H935 תבוא come, H4994 נא I pray thee, H8559 תמר let Tamar H269 אחתי my sister H3823 ותלבב and make H5869 לעיני in my sight, H8147 שׁתי me a couple H3834 לבבות of cakes H1262 ואברה that I may eat H3027 מידה׃ at her hand.

  7 H7971 וישׁלח sent H1732 דוד Then David H413 אל to H8559 תמר Tamar, H1004 הביתה home H559 לאמר saying, H1980 לכי Go H4994 נא now H1004 בית house, H550 אמנון Amnon's H251 אחיך to thy brother H6213 ועשׂי and dress H1279 לו הבריה׃ him meat.

  10 H559 ויאמר said H550 אמנון And Amnon H413 אל unto H8559 תמר Tamar, H935 הביאי Bring H1279 הבריה the meat H2315 החדר into the chamber, H1262 ואברה that I may eat H3027 מידך of thine hand. H3947 ותקח took H8559 תמר And Tamar H853 את   H3834 הלבבות the cakes H834 אשׁר which H6213 עשׂתה she had made, H935 ותבא and brought H550 לאמנון to Amnon H251 אחיה her brother. H2315 החדרה׃ into the chamber

  11 H5066 ותגשׁ And when she had brought H413 אליו unto H398 לאכל him to eat, H2388 ויחזק he took hold H559 בה ויאמר of her, and said H935 לה בואי unto her, Come H7901 שׁכבי lie H5973 עמי with H269 אחותי׃ me, my sister.

  13 H589 ואני And I, H575 אנה whither H1980 אוליך to go? H853 את   H2781 חרפתי shall I cause my shame H859 ואתה and as for thee, H1961 תהיה thou shalt be H259 כאחד as one H5036 הנבלים of the fools H3478 בישׂראל in Israel. H6258 ועתה Now H1696 דבר speak H4994 נא therefore, I pray thee, H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king; H3588 כי for H3808 לא he will not H4513 ימנעני withhold H4480 ממך׃ me from

  20 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליה unto H53 אבשׁלום And Absalom H251 אחיה her brother H550 האמינון her, Hath Amnon H251 אחיך thy brother H1961 היה been H5973 עמך with H6258 ועתה now H269 אחותי thy peace, my sister: H2790 החרישׁי thee? but hold H251 אחיך thy brother; H1931 הוא he H408 אל not H7896 תשׁיתי   H853 את   H3820 לבך   H1697 לדבר thing. H2088 הזה this H3427 ותשׁב remained H8559 תמר So Tamar H8076 ושׁממה   H1004 בית house. H53 אבשׁלום Absalom's H251 אחיה׃ in her brother

  24 H935 ויבא came H53 אבשׁלום And Absalom H413 אל to H4428 המלך the king, H559 ויאמר and said, H2009 הנה Behold H4994 נא now, H1494 גזזים hath sheepshearers; H5650 לעבדך thy servant H1980 ילך go H4994 נא I beseech thee, H4428 המלך let the king, H5650 ועבדיו and his servants H5973 עם with H5650 עבדך׃ thy servant.

  25 H559 ויאמר said H4428 המלך And the king H413 אל to H53 אבשׁלום Absalom, H408 אל Nay, H1121 בני my son, H408 אל let us not H4994 נא now H1980 נלך go, H3605 כלנו all H3808 ולא lest H3513 נכבד we be chargeable H5921 עליך unto H6555 ויפרץ thee. And he pressed H3808 בו ולא not H14 אבה him: howbeit he would H1980 ללכת go, H1288 ויברכהו׃ but blessed

  28 H6680 ויצו had commanded H53 אבשׁלום Now Absalom H853 את   H5288 נעריו his servants, H559 לאמר saying, H7200 ראו Mark H4994 נא ye now H2896 כטוב   H3820 לב heart H550 אמנון when Amnon's H3196 ביין with wine, H559 ואמרתי and when I say H413 אליכם unto H5221 הכו you, Smite H853 את   H550 אמנון Amnon; H4191 והמתם then kill H853 אתו   H408 אל not: H3372 תיראו him, fear H3808 הלוא have not H3588 כי   H595 אנכי I H6680 צויתי commanded H853 אתכם   H2388 חזקו you? be courageous, H1961 והיו and be H1121 לבני valiant. H2428 חיל׃ valiant.

  30 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H1992 המה while they H1870 בדרך were in the way, H8052 והשׁמעה that tidings H935 באה came H413 אל to H1732 דוד David, H559 לאמר saying, H5221 הכה hath slain H53 אבשׁלום Absalom H853 את   H3605 כל all H1121 בני sons, H4428 המלך the king's H3808 ולא and there is not H3498 נותר them left. H1992 מהם   H259 אחד׃ one

  33 H6258 ועתה Now H408 אל therefore let not H7760 ישׂם take H113 אדני my lord H4428 המלך the king H413 אל to H3820 לבו his heart, H1697 דבר the thing H559 לאמר to think H3605 כל that all H1121 בני sons H4428 המלך the king's H4191 מתו are dead: H3588 כי for H518 אם for H550 אמנון Amnon H905 לבדו only H4191 מת׃ is dead.

  35 H559 ויאמר said H3122 יונדב And Jonadab H413 אל unto H4428 המלך the king, H2009 הנה Behold, H1121 בני sons H4428 המלך the king's H935 באו come: H1697 כדבר said, H5650 עבדך as thy servant H3651 כן so H1961 היה׃ it is.

  37 H53 ואבשׁלום But Absalom H1272 ברח fled, H1980 וילך and went H413 אל to H8526 תלמי Talmai, H1121 בן the son H5991 עמיחור   H4428 מלך king H1650 גשׁור of Geshur. H56 ויתאבל And mourned H5921 על for H1121 בנו his son H3605 כל every H3117 הימים׃ day.

  39 H3615 ותכל longed H1732 דוד David H4428 המלך And king H3318 לצאת to go forth H413 אל unto H53 אבשׁלום Absalom: H3588 כי for H5162 נחם he was comforted H5921 על concerning H550 אמנון Amnon, H3588 כי seeing H4191 מת׃ he was dead.

  2 H7971 וישׁלח sent H3097 יואב And Joab H8620 תקועה to Tekoah, H3947 ויקח and fetched H8033 משׁם thence H802 אשׁה woman, H2450 חכמה a wise H559 ויאמר and said H413 אליה unto H56 התאבלי feign thyself to be a mourner, H4994 נא her, I pray thee, H3847 ולבשׁי and put on H4994 נא now H899 בגדי apparel, H60 אבל mourning H408 ואל not H5480 תסוכי and anoint H8081 שׁמן thyself with oil, H1961 והיית but be H802 כאשׁה as a woman H2088 זה that H3117 ימים time H7227 רבים had a long H56 מתאבלת mourned H5921 על for H4191 מת׃ the dead:

  3 H935 ובאת And come H413 אל to H4428 המלך the king, H1696 ודברת and speak H413 אליו on H1697 כדבר manner H2088 הזה this H7760 וישׂם put H3097 יואב him. So Joab H853 את   H1697 הדברים the words H6310 בפיה׃ in her mouth.
