  1 G2532 And G4198 [³went G3588   G935 ¹king G* ²Rehoboam] G1519 to G* Shechem, G3754 for G1519 [⁴unto G* ⁵Shechem G2064 ³came G3956 ¹all G* ²Israel] G936 to give him reign. G1473  

  2 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G5613 as G191 [⁴heard G* ¹Jeroboam G5207 ²son G* ³of Nebat], G2532 and G1473 he G2089 was still G1510.6 being G1722 in G* Egypt, G5613 as G5343 he had fled G1537 from G4383 the face G3588   G935 of king G* Solomon, G2532 and G2521 settled G1722 in G* Egypt,

  3 G2532 that G649 they sent G2532 and G2564 called G1473 him. G2532 And G2064 Jeroboam came G*   G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G2992 people G* of Israel. G2532 And G2980 [³spoke G3588 ¹the G2992 ²people] G4314 to G3588   G935 king G* Rehoboam, G3004 saying,

  4 G3588   G3962 Your father G1473   G4645 hardened G3588   G2827.2 our neck yoke. G1473   G2532 And G1473 you G3568 now, G2893 lighten G575 of G3588   G1397 [³servitude G3588   G3962 ⁴of your father G1473   G3588 ¹the G4642 ²hard], G2532 and G575 from G3588   G2827.2 [³neck yoke G1473 ¹his G3588   G917 ²heavy]! G3739 of which G1325 he put G1909 upon G1473 us, G2532 and G1398 we will serve G1473 to you.

  5 G2532 And G2036 he said G4314 to G1473 them, G565 Go forth G2193 for G2250 [²days G5140 ¹three], G2532 and G390 return G4314 to G1473 me! G2532 And G565 they went forth.

  6 G2532 And G518 [³reported G3588   G935 ¹king G* ²Rehoboam] G3588 to the G4245 elders, G3739 the ones who G1510.7.6 were G3936 standing G1799 before G* Solomon G3588   G3962 his father G1473   G2089 [²was still G2198 ³living G1473 ¹ while he], G3004 saying, G4459 How G1473 do you G1011 counsel G2443 that G611 I should answer G3588 to G2992 this people G3778   G3056 a word?

  7 G2532 And G2980 they spoke G4314 to G1473 him, G3004 saying, G1487 If G1722 in G3588   G2250 this day G3778   G1510.8.2 you will be G1401 a servant G3588   G2992 to this people, G3778   G2532 and G1398 should serve G1473 them, G2532 and G2980 shall speak G4314 to G1473 them G3056 [²words G18 ¹ with good], G2532 then G1510.8.6 they will be G1473 to you G1401 servants G3956 all G3588 the G2250 days.

  8 G2532 And G1459 he abandoned G3588 the G1012 counsel G3588 of the G4245 elders G3739 which G4823 they advised G1473 him, G2532 and G4823 he took up advice G3326 with G3588 the G3808 young men G3588   G1625 being brought up G3326 with G1473 him, G3588 of the ones G3936 standing G4253 before G4383 his face.   9 G2532 And G2036 he said G1473 to them, G5100 What G1473 do you G4823 advise, G2532 and G5100 what G611 should I answer G3588   G2992 to this people G3778   G3588   G2980 speaking G4314 to G1473 me, G3004 saying, G2893 Lighten G575 up G3588 the G2827.2 neck yoke G3739 which G1325 [²put G3588   G3962 ¹your father] G1473   G1909 upon G1473 us?

  10 G2532 And G2980 they spoke G4314 to G1473 him, G3588 the G3808 young men G3588   G1625 having been brought up G3326 with G1473 him; G2532 and G2036 they said, G3592 Thus G2980 you shall speak G3588   G2992 to this people, G3778   G3588 to the ones G2980 speaking G4314 to G1473 you, G3004 saying, G3588   G3962 Your father G1473   G925 oppressed G3588   G2827.2 our neck yoke, G1473   G2532 and G1473 you G3568 now G2893 lighten it G575 from G1473 us! G3592 Thus G2046 you shall say G4314 to G1473 them, G3588   G3398.1 My thinness G1473   G3975.1 [²thicker than G1510.2.3 ¹is] G3588 the G3751 loin G3588   G3962 of my father. G1473  

  11 G2532 And G3568 now, G3588   G3962 my father G1473   G1977.2 saddled G1473 you G1722 with G2827.2 [²neck yoke G926 ¹a heavy], G2504 and I G4369 will add G1909 unto G3588   G2827.2 your neck yoke. G1473   G3588   G3962 My father G1473   G3811 corrected G1473 you G1722 with G3148 whips, G1473 but I G1161   G3811 will correct G1473 you G1722 with G4651 scorpions.

  12 G2532 And G3854 Jeroboam came, G*   G2532 and G3956 all G* Israel G4314 to G3588   G935 king G* Rehoboam G1722 on G3588 the G2250 [²day G3588   G5154 ¹third] G2530 as G2980 [³spoke G1473 ⁴to them G3588 ¹the G935 ²king], G3004 saying, G390 Return G4314 to G1473 me G3588   G2250 [³day G3588 ¹the G5154 ²third]!

  13 G2532 And G611 [³answered G3588 ¹the G935 ²king] G4314 to G3588 the G2992 people G4642 hard. G2532 And G1459 Rehoboam abandoned G*   G3588 the G1012 counsel G3588 of the G4245 elders G3739 which G4823 they advised G1473 him.

  14 G2532 And G2980 he spoke G4314 to G1473 them G2596 according to G3588 the G1012 counsel G3588 of the G3808 young men, G3004 saying, G3588   G3962 My father G1473   G925 oppressed G3588   G2827.2 your neck yoke, G1473   G2504 and I G4369 shall add G1909 to G3588   G2827.2 your neck yoke. G1473   G3588   G3962 My father G1473   G3811 corrected G1473 you G1722 with G3148 whips, G2504 and I G3811 will correct G1473 you G1722 with G4651 scorpions.

  15 G2532 And G3756 [³did not G191 ⁴hear G3588 ¹the G935 ²king] G3588 the G2992 people, G3754 for G1510.7.3 he was G3344.1 converted G3844 by G2962 the lord, G3704 so that G2476 [²should stand G3588   G4487 ¹his word], G1473   G3739 which G2980 he spoke G1722 by G5495 the hand G* of Ahijah G3588 the G* Shilonite G1909 over G* Jeroboam G5207 son G* of Nebat.

  16 G2532 And G1492 [³knew G3956 ¹all G* ²Israel] G3754 that G3756 [³did not hearken to G191   G1473 ⁴them G3588 ¹the G935 ²king]. G2532 And G611 [³answered G3588 ¹the G2992 ²people] G3588 to the G935 king, G3004 saying, G5100 What G1473 is our G3310 portion G1722 with G* David? G2532 and, G3756 There is no G1510.2.3   G1473 inheritance to us G2817   G1722 with G5207 the son G* of Jesse. G665.1 Run, G* O Israel, G1519 to G3588   G4638 your tents! G1473   G3568 Now G1006 graze G3588   G3624 your own house, G1473   G* David! G2532 And G565 Israel went forth G*   G1519 to G3588   G4638 his tents. G1473  

  17 G2532 And G3588 the G5207 sons G* of Israel, G3588 the ones G2730 dwelling G1722 in G3588 the G4172 cities G* of Judah -- G936 [²reigned G1909 ³over G1438 ⁴them G3588   G* ¹Rehoboam].

  18 G2532 And G649 [³sent G3588   G935 ¹king G* ²Rehoboam] G3588   G* Adoram, G3588 the one G1909 for collecting G3588 the G5411 tribute. G2532 And G3036 [³stoned G1473 ⁴him G1722 ⁵with G3037 ⁶stones G3956 ¹all G* ²Israel], G2532 and G599 he died. G2532 And G3588   G935 king G* Rehoboam G5348 anticipated G305 to ascend G2089 upon G3588 the G716 chariot G3588   G5343 to flee G1519 into G* Jerusalem.

  19 G2532 And G114 Israel annulled allegiance G*   G1519 with G3588 the G3624 house G* of David G2193 until G3588   G2250 this day. G3778  

  20 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G5613 as G191 [³heard G3956 ¹all G* ²Israel] G3754 that G344 Jeroboam returned G*   G1537 from out of G* Egypt, G2532 that G649 they sent G2532 and G2564 called G1473 him G1519 to G3588 the G4864 congregation. G2532 And G936 they gave him reign G1473   G1909 over G* Israel. G2532 And G3756 there was none G1510.7.3   G3694 following after G3624 the house G* of David G3926.1 except G4638.1 the chiefdom G* of Judah G2532 and G* Benjamin G3441 only.

  21 G2532 And G* Rehoboam G1525 entered G1519 into G* Jerusalem, G2532 and G1826.1 he held an assembly G3956 of all G3588 the G4864 congregation G* of Judah, G2532 and G4638.1 the chiefdom G* of Benjamin -- G1540 a hundred G2532 and G1501 twenty G5505 thousand G3494 young men G4160 for making G4171 war, G3588   G4170 to wage war G4314 against G3624 the house G* of Israel, G1994 to return G3588 the G932 kingdom G* of Rehoboam G5207 son G* of Solomon.

  22 G2532 And G1096 there came to pass G3056 the word G2962 of the lord G4314 to G* Shemaiah G444 the man G3588   G2316 of God, G3004 saying,

  23 G2036 Speak G3588   G* to Rehoboam G5207 son G* of Solomon G935 king G* of Judah, G2532 and G4314 to G3956 all G3624 the house G* of Judah G2532 and G* Benjamin, G2532 and G3588 to the G2645 rest G3588 of the G2992 people! G3004 saying,

  24 G3592 Thus G3004 says G2962 the lord, G3756 You shall not G305 ascend, G3761 nor G4170 wage war G3326 with G3588   G80 your brethren G1473   G5207 of the sons G* of Israel. G390 Let [²return G1538 ¹each] G1519 to G3588   G3624 his house! G1473   G3754 for G1537 from G1473 me G1096 [²has taken place G3588   G4487 ¹this thing]. G3778   G2532 And G191 they hearkened to G3588 the G3056 word G2962 of the lord, G2532 and G2664 they ceased G3588   G4198 to go G2596 against G3588 the G4487 thing G2962 of the lord .

  25 G2532 And G3618 Jeroboam built G*   G3588   G* Shechem G3588   G1722 in G3735 mount G* Ephraim, G2532 and G2730 he dwelt G1722 in G1473 it. G2532 And G1831 he went forth G1564 from there G2532 and G3618 built G3588   G* Penuel.

  26 G2532 And G2036 Jeroboam said G*   G1722 in G3588   G2588 his heart, G1473   G2400 Behold, G3568 now G1994 [³shall return G3588 ¹the G932 ²kingdom] G1519 to G3624 the house G* of David,

  27 G1437 if G305 [²should ascend G3588   G2992 ¹this people] G3778   G399 to offer G2378 a sacrifice G1722 in G3624 the house G2962 of the lord G1519 in G* Jerusalem, G2532 then G1994 [⁵shall turn G3588 ¹the G2588 ²heart G3588 ³of the G2992 ⁴people] G4314 towards G3588   G2962 their master, G1473   G4314 to G* Rehoboam G935 king G* of Judah, G2532 and G615 they shall kill G1473 me.

  28 G2532 And G1011 [³consulted G3588 ¹the G935 ²king], G2532 and G4160 made G1417 two G1151 heifers G5552 of gold. G2532 And G2036 he said G4314 to G3588 the G2992 people, G2427 Let it be enough G1473 for you G305 to ascend G1519 to G* Jerusalem! G2400 Behold, G3588   G2316 your gods, G1473   G* O Israel, G3588 the G321 ones leading G1473 you G1537 from out of G1093 the land G* of Egypt.

  29 G2532 And G5087 he put G3588 the G1520 one G1722 in G* Beth-el, G2532 and G3588 the G1520 other one G1325 he put G1722 in G* Dan.

  30 G2532 And G1096 [³came to pass G3588   G3056 ²account G3778 ¹this] G1519 for G266 sin. G2532 And G4198 [³went G3588 ¹the G2992 ²people] G3694 after G3588 the G1520 one G2193 unto G* Dan.

  31 G2532 And G4160 he made G3624 houses G1909 upon G5308 high places, G2532 and G4160 he appointed G2409 priests G3313 from any part G5100   G1537 of G3588 the G2992 people G3739 who G3756 were not G1510.7.6   G1537 of G3588 the G5207 sons G* of Levi.

  32 G2532 And G4160 Jeroboam made G*   G1859 a holiday feast G1722 in G3588 the G3376 [²month G3588   G3590 ¹eighth], G1722 on G3588 the G4003 fifteenth G2250 day G3588 of the G3376 month, G2596 according to G3588 the G1859 holiday, G3588 the one G1722 in G3588   G* Judah. G2532 And G305 he ascended G1909 unto G3588 the G2379 altar G3739 which G4160 he made G1722 in G* Beth-el, G3588   G2380 to sacrifice G3588 to the G1151 heifers G3739 which G4160 he made. G2532 And G3936 he placed G1722 in G* Beth-el G3588 the G2409 priests G3588 of the G5308 high places G3739 which G4160 he made.

  33 G2532 And G305 he ascended G1909 unto G3588 the G2379 altar G3739 which G4160 he made G1722 in G3588 the G4003 fifteenth G2250 day G1722 in G3588 the G3376 [²month G3588   G3590 ¹eighth], G1722 in G3588 the G1859 holiday G3739 which G4111 he shaped G575 out of G2588 his own heart. G1473   G2532 And G4160 he made G1859 the holiday G3588 for the G5207 sons G* of Israel, G2532 and G305 he ascended G1909 unto G3588 the G2379 altar G3588   G1939.1 to sacrifice upon it.
