Anderson⁽ⁱ⁾ ²⁰ Then Peter, turning about, saw the disciple that Jesus loved, following, who also reclined at supper upon his breast, and said: Lord, who is he that delivers thee up? ²¹ Peter seeing this one, said to Jesus: Lord, what shall this one do? ²² Jesus said to him: If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? Do you follow me. ²³ Therefore, this saying went out among the brethren, that that disciple should not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you? ²⁴ This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and who has written these things; and we know that his testimony is true. ²⁵ And there are also many other things that Jesus did; if they should be written, every one of them, I suppose that not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written.
