1 Samuel 1:5-28

  5 H2584 ולחנה But unto Hannah H5414 יתן he gave H4490 מנה portion; H259 אחת a H639 אפים worthy H3588 כי for H853 את   H2584 חנה Hannah: H157 אהב he loved H3068 ויהוה but the LORD H5462 סגר had shut up H7358 רחמה׃ her womb.
  6 H3707 וכעסתה provoked H6869 צרתה And her adversary H1571 גם also H3708 כעס her sore, H5668 בעבור for to H7481 הרעמה make her fret, H3588 כי because H5462 סגר had shut up H3068 יהוה the LORD H1157 בעד had shut up H7358 רחמה׃ her womb.
  7 H3651 וכן so H6213 יעשׂה And he did H8141 שׁנה year H8141 בשׁנה by year, H1767 מדי when H5927 עלתה she went up H1004 בבית to the house H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H3651 כן so H3707 תכעסנה she provoked H1058 ותבכה her; therefore she wept, H3808 ולא and did not H398 תאכל׃ eat.
  8 H559 ויאמר Then said H511 לה אלקנה Elkanah H376 אישׁה her husband H2584 חנה to her, Hannah, H4100 למה why H1058 תבכי weepest H4100 ולמה thou? and why H3808 לא thou not? H398 תאכלי eatest H4100 ולמה and why H3415 ירע   H3824 לבבך is thy heart H3808 הלוא not H595 אנכי I H2896 טוב better H6235 לך מעשׂרה to thee than ten H1121 בנים׃ sons?
  9 H6965 ותקם rose up H2584 חנה So Hannah H310 אחרי after H398 אכלה they had eaten H7887 בשׁלה in Shiloh, H310 ואחרי and after H8354 שׁתה they had drunk. H5941 ועלי Now Eli H3548 הכהן the priest H3427 ישׁב sat H5921 על upon H3678 הכסא a seat H5921 על by H4201 מזוזת a post H1964 היכל of the temple H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD.
  10 H1931 והיא And she H4751 מרת in bitterness H5315 נפשׁ of soul, H6419 ותתפלל and prayed H5921 על unto H3068 יהוה the LORD, H1058 ובכה and wept sore. H1058 תבכה׃ and wept sore.
  11 H5087 ותדר And she vowed H5088 נדר a vow, H559 ותאמר and said, H3068 יהוה O LORD H6635 צבאות of hosts, H518 אם if H7200 ראה thou wilt indeed look H7200 תראה thou wilt indeed look H6040 בעני on the affliction H519 אמתך of thine handmaid, H2142 וזכרתני and remember H3808 ולא me, and not H7911 תשׁכח forget H853 את   H519 אמתך thine handmaid, H5414 ונתתה but wilt give H519 לאמתך unto thine handmaid H2233 זרע child, H376 אנשׁים a man H5414 ונתתיו then I will give H3068 ליהוה him unto the LORD H3605 כל all H3117 ימי the days H2416 חייו of his life, H4177 ומורה razor H3808 לא and there shall no H5927 יעלה come H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁו׃ his head.
  12 H1961 והיה And it came to pass, H3588 כי as H7235 הרבתה she continued H6419 להתפלל praying H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H5941 ועלי that Eli H8104 שׁמר marked H853 את   H6310 פיה׃ her mouth.
  13 H2584 וחנה Now Hannah, H1931 היא she H1696 מדברת spoke H5921 על in H3820 לבה her heart; H7535 רק only H8193 שׂפתיה her lips H5128 נעות moved, H6963 וקולה but her voice H3808 לא was not H8085 ישׁמע heard: H2803 ויחשׁבה thought H5941 עלי therefore Eli H7910 לשׁכרה׃ she had been drunken.
  14 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליה unto H5941 עלי And Eli H5704 עד her, How H4970 מתי long H7937 תשׁתכרין wilt thou be drunken? H5493 הסירי put away H853 את   H3196 יינך thy wine H5921 מעליך׃ from
  15 H6030 ותען answered H2584 חנה And Hannah H559 ותאמר and said, H3808 לא No, H113 אדני my lord, H802 אשׁה I a woman H7186 קשׁת of a sorrowful H7307 רוח spirit: H595 אנכי I H3196 ויין wine H7941 ושׁכר nor strong drink, H3808 לא neither H8354 שׁתיתי have drunk H8210 ואשׁפך but have poured out H853 את   H5315 נפשׁי my soul H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
  16 H408 אל not H5414 תתן Count H853 את   H519 אמתך thine handmaid H6440 לפני for H1323 בת   H1100 בליעל   H3588 כי for H7230 מרב out of the abundance H7879 שׂיחי of my complaint H3708 וכעסי and grief H1696 דברתי have I spoken H5704 עד hitherto. H2008 הנה׃  
  17 H6030 ויען answered H5941 עלי Then Eli H559 ויאמר and said, H1980 לכי Go H7965 לשׁלום in peace: H430 ואלהי and the God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5414 יתן grant H853 את   H7596 שׁלתך thy petition H834 אשׁר that H7592 שׁאלת thou hast asked H5973 מעמו׃ of
  18 H559 ותאמר And she said, H4672 תמצא find H8198 שׁפחתך Let thine handmaid H2580 חן grace H5869 בעיניך in thy sight. H1980 ותלך went H802 האשׁה So the woman H1870 לדרכה her way, H398 ותאכל and did eat, H6440 ופניה and her countenance H3808 לא no H1961 היו was H5750 לה עוד׃ more
  19 H7925 וישׁכמו   H1242 בבקר   H7812 וישׁתחוו and worshiped H6440 לפני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H7725 וישׁבו and returned, H935 ויבאו and came H413 אל to H1004 ביתם their house H7414 הרמתה to Ramah: H3045 וידע knew H511 אלקנה and Elkanah H853 את   H2584 חנה Hannah H802 אשׁתו his wife; H2142 ויזכרה remembered H3068 יהוה׃ and the LORD
  20 H1961 ויהי Wherefore it came to pass, H8622 לתקפות was come H3117 הימים when the time H2029 ותהר had conceived, H2584 חנה about after Hannah H3205 ותלד that she bore H1121 בן a son, H7121 ותקרא and called H853 את   H8034 שׁמו his name H8050 שׁמואל Samuel, H3588 כי Because H3068 מיהוה   H7592 שׁאלתיו׃ I have asked
  21 H5927 ויעל went up H376 האישׁ And the man H511 אלקנה Elkanah, H3605 וכל and all H1004 ביתו his house, H2076 לזבח to offer H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD H853 את   H2077 זבח sacrifice, H3117 הימים the yearly H853 ואת   H5088 נדרו׃ and his vow.
  22 H2584 וחנה But Hannah H3808 לא went not up; H5927 עלתה went not up; H3588 כי for H559 אמרה she said H376 לאישׁה unto her husband, H5704 עד until H1580 יגמל be weaned, H5288 הנער the child H935 והבאתיו and I will bring H7200 ונראה him, that he may appear H853 את   H6440 פני before H3068 יהוה the LORD, H3427 וישׁב abide H8033 שׁם and there H5704 עד forever. H5769 עולם׃ forever.
  23 H559 ויאמר said H511 לה אלקנה And Elkanah H376 אישׁה her husband H6213 עשׂי unto her, Do H2896 הטוב thee good; H5869 בעיניך what seemeth H3427 שׁבי tarry H5704 עד until H1580 גמלך thou have weaned H853 אתו   H389 אך him; only H6965 יקם establish H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את   H1697 דברו his word. H3427 ותשׁב abode, H802 האשׁה So the woman H3243 ותינק   H853 את   H1121 בנה   H5704 עד until H1580 גמלה she weaned H853 אתו׃  
  24 H5927 ותעלהו him, she took him up H5973 עמה with H834 כאשׁר And when H1580 גמלתו she had weaned H6499 בפרים bullocks, H7969 שׁלשׁה her, with three H374 ואיפה ephah H259 אחת and one H7058 קמח of flour, H5035 ונבל and a bottle H3196 יין of wine, H935 ותבאהו and brought H1004 בית him unto the house H3068 יהוה of the LORD H7887 שׁלו in Shiloh: H5288 והנער and the child H5288 נער׃ young.
  25 H7819 וישׁחטו And they slew H853 את   H6499 הפר a bullock, H935 ויביאו and brought H853 את   H5288 הנער the child H413 אל to H5941 עלי׃ Eli.
  26 H559 ותאמר And she said, H994 בי Oh H113 אדני my lord, H2416 חי liveth, H5315 נפשׁך thy soul H113 אדני my lord, H589 אני I H802 האשׁה the woman H5324 הנצבת that stood H5973 עמכה by H2088 בזה thee here, H6419 להתפלל praying H413 אל unto H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.
  27 H413 אל For H5288 הנער child H2088 הזה this H6419 התפללתי I prayed; H5414 ויתן hath given H3068 יהוה and the LORD H853 לי את   H7596 שׁאלתי me my petition H834 אשׁר which H7592 שׁאלתי I asked H5973 מעמו׃ of
  28 H1571 וגם Therefore also H595 אנכי I H7592 השׁאלתהו have lent H3068 ליהוה him to the LORD; H3605 כל as long H3117 הימים he liveth H834 אשׁר as H1961 היה shall be H1931 הוא he H7592 שׁאול lent H3068 ליהוה to the LORD. H7812 וישׁתחו And he worshiped H8033 שׁם there. H3068 ליהוה׃ the LORD
