KJV_Strongs(i)
H3290 Now when Jacob H7200 saw [H8799]   H3426 that there was H7668 corn H4714 in Egypt H3290 , Jacob H559 said [H8799]   H1121 unto his sons H7200 , Why do ye look [H8691]   one upon another?
H559 And he said [H8799]   H8085 , Behold, I have heard [H8804]   H3426 that there is H7668 corn H4714 in Egypt H3381 : get you down [H8798]   H7666 thither, and buy [H8798]   H2421 for us from thence; that we may live [H8799]   H4191 , and not die [H8799]  .
H3130 And Joseph's H6235 ten H251 brethren H3381 went down [H8799]   H7666 to buy [H8800]   H1250 corn H4714 in Egypt.
H1144 But Benjamin H3130 , Joseph's H251 brother H3290 , Jacob H7971 sent [H8804]   H251 not with his brethren H559 ; for he said [H8804]   H6435 , Lest peradventure H611 mischief H7122 befall him [H8799]  .
H1121 And the sons H3478 of Israel H935 came [H8799]   H7666 to buy [H8800]   H8432 corn among H935 those that came [H8802]   H7458 : for the famine H776 was in the land H3667 of Canaan.
H3130 And Joseph H7989 was the governor H776 over the land H7666 , and he it was that sold [H8688]   H5971 to all the people H776 of the land H3130 : and Joseph's H251 brethren H935 came [H8799]   H7812 , and bowed down [H8691]   H639 themselves before him with their faces H776 to the earth.
H3130 And Joseph H7200 saw [H8799]   H251 his brethren H5234 , and he knew [H8686]   H5234 them, but made himself strange [H8691]   H1696 unto them, and spake [H8762]   H7186 roughly H559 unto them; and he said [H8799]   H370 unto them, Whence H935 come [H8804]   H559 ye? And they said [H8799]   H776 , From the land H3667 of Canaan H7666 to buy [H8800]   H400 food.
H3130 And Joseph H5234 knew [H8686]   H251 his brethren H5234 , but they knew [H8689]   not him.
H3130 And Joseph H2142 remembered [H8799]   H2472 the dreams H2492 which he dreamed [H8804]   H559 of them, and said [H8799]   H7270 unto them, Ye are spies [H8764]   H7200 ; to see [H8800]   H6172 the nakedness H776 of the land H935 ye are come [H8804]  .
H559 And they said [H8799]   H113 unto him, Nay, my lord H7666 , but to buy [H8800]   H400 food H5650 are thy servants H935 come [H8804]  .
H5168 We H259 are all one H376 man's H1121 sons H3651 ; we are true H5650 men, thy servants H7270 are no spies [H8764]  .
H559 And he said [H8799]   H7200 unto them, Nay, but to see [H8800]   H6172 the nakedness H776 of the land H935 ye are come [H8804]  .
H559 And they said [H8799]   H5650 , Thy servants H8147 are twelve H6240   H251 brethren H1121 , the sons H259 of one H376 man H776 in the land H3667 of Canaan H6996 ; and, behold, the youngest H3117 is this day H1 with our father H259 , and one is not.
H3130 And Joseph H559 said [H8799]   H1696 unto them, That is it that I spake [H8765]   H559 unto you, saying [H8800]   H7270 , Ye are spies [H8764]  :
H2063 Hereby H974 ye shall be proved [H8735]   H2416 : By the life H6547 of Pharaoh H3318 ye shall not go forth [H8799]   H6996 hence, except your youngest H251 brother H935 come [H8800]   hither.
H7971 Send [H8798]   H259 one H3947 of you, and let him fetch [H8799]   H251 your brother H631 , and ye shall be kept in prison [H8734]   H1697 , that your words H974 may be proved [H8735]   H571 , whether there be any truth H854 in H3808 you: or else H2416 by the life H6547 of Pharaoh H7270 surely ye are spies [H8764]  .
H622 And he put them all together [H8799]   H4929 into ward H7969 three H3117 days.
H3130 And Joseph H559 said [H8799]   H7992 unto them the third H3117 day H6213 , This do [H8798]   H2421 , and live [H8798]   H3373 ; for I fear H430 God:
H3651 If ye be true H259 men, let one H251 of your brethren H631 be bound [H8735]   H1004 in the house H4929 of your prison H3212 : go [H8798]   H935 ye, carry [H8685]   H7668 corn H7459 for the famine H1004 of your houses:
H935 But bring [H8686]   H6996 your youngest H251 brother H1697 unto me; so shall your words H539 be verified [H8735]   H4191 , and ye shall not die [H8799]   H6213 . And they did [H8799]   so.
H559 And they said [H8799]   H376 one H251 to another H61 , We are verily H818 guilty H251 concerning our brother H834 , in that H7200 we saw [H8804]   H6869 the anguish H5315 of his soul H2603 , when he besought [H8692]   H8085 us, and we would not hear [H8804]   H6869 ; therefore is this distress H935 come [H8804]   upon us.
H7205 And Reuben H6030 answered [H8799]   H559 them, saying [H8800]   H559 , Spake I [H8804]   H559 not unto you, saying [H8800]   H2398 , Do not sin [H8799]   H3206 against the child H8085 ; and ye would not hear [H8804]   H1818 ? therefore, behold, also his blood H1875 is required [H8738]  .
H3045 And they knew [H8804]   H3130 not that Joseph H8085 understood [H8802]   H3887 them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter [H8688]  .
H5437 And he turned himself about [H8735]   H1058 from them, and wept [H8799]   H7725 ; and returned to them again [H8799]   H1696 , and communed [H8762]   H3947 with them, and took [H8799]   H8095 from them Simeon H631 , and bound [H8799]   H5869 him before their eyes.
H3130 Then Joseph H6680 commanded [H8762]   H4390 to fill [H8762]   H3627 their sacks H1250 with corn H7725 , and to restore [H8687]   H376 every man's H3701 money H8242 into his sack H5414 , and to give [H8800]   H6720 them provision H1870 for the way H3651 : and thus H6213 did he [H8799]   unto them.
H5375 And they laded [H8799]   H2543 their asses H7668 with the corn H3212 , and departed [H8799]   thence.
H259 And as one H6605 of them opened [H8799]   H8242 his sack H5414 to give [H8800]   H2543 his ass H4554 provender H4411 in the inn H7200 , he espied [H8799]   H3701 his money H572 ; for, behold, it was in his sack's H6310 mouth.
H559 And he said [H8799]   H251 unto his brethren H3701 , My money H7725 is restored [H8717]   H2009 ; and, lo H572 , it is even in my sack H3820 : and their heart H3318 failed [H8799]   H2729 them, and they were afraid [H8799]   H559 , saying [H8800]   H376 one H251 to another H430 , What is this that God H6213 hath done [H8804]   unto us?
H935 And they came [H8799]   H3290 unto Jacob H1 their father H776 unto the land H3667 of Canaan H5046 , and told [H8686]   H7136 him all that befell [H8802]   H559 unto them; saying [H8800]  ,
H376 The man H113 , who is the lord H776 of the land H1696 , spake [H8765]   H7186 roughly H5414 to us, and took [H8799]   H7270 us for spies [H8764]   H776 of the country.
H559 And we said [H8799]   H3651 unto him, We are true H7270 men; we are no spies [H8764]  :
H6240 We be twelve H8147   H251 brethren H1121 , sons H1 of our father H259 ; one H6996 is not, and the youngest H3117 is this day H1 with our father H776 in the land H3667 of Canaan.
H376 And the man H113 , the lord H776 of the country H559 , said [H8799]   H3045 unto us, Hereby shall I know [H8799]   H3651 that ye are true H3240 men; leave [H8685]   H259 one H251 of your brethren H3947 here with me, and take [H8798]   H7459 food for the famine H1004 of your households H3212 , and be gone [H8798]  :
H935 And bring [H8685]   H6996 your youngest H251 brother H3045 unto me: then shall I know [H8799]   H7270 that ye are no spies [H8764]   H3651 , but that ye are true H5414 men: so will I deliver [H8799]   H251 you your brother H5503 , and ye shall traffick [H8799]   H776 in the land.
H7324 And it came to pass as they emptied [H8688]   H8242 their sacks H376 , that, behold, every man's H6872 bundle H3701 of money H8242 was in his sack H1 : and when both they and their father H7200 saw [H8799]   H6872 the bundles H3701 of money H3372 , they were afraid [H8799]  .
H3290 And Jacob H1 their father H559 said [H8799]   H7921 unto them, Me have ye bereaved [H8765]   H3130 of my children : Joseph H8095 is not, and Simeon H3947 is not, and ye will take [H8799]   H1144 Benjamin away : all these things are against me.
H7205 And Reuben H559 spake [H8799]   H1 unto his father H559 , saying [H8800]   H4191 , Slay [H8686]   H8147 my two H1121 sons H935 , if I bring [H8686]   H5414 him not to thee: deliver [H8798]   H3027 him into my hand H7725 , and I will bring him to thee again [H8686]  .
H559 And he said [H8799]   H1121 , My son H3381 shall not go down [H8799]   H251 with you; for his brother H4191 is dead [H8804]   H7604 , and he is left [H8738]   H611 alone: if mischief H7122 befall [H8804]   H1870 him by the way H3212 in the which ye go [H8799]   H3381 , then shall ye bring down [H8689]   H7872 my gray hairs H3015 with sorrow H7585 to the grave.
ERV(i) 1 Now Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, and Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another? 2 And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die. 3 And Joseph’s ten brethren went down to buy corn from Egypt. 4 But Benjamin, Joseph’s brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him. 5 And the sons of Israel came to buy among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan. 6 And Joseph was the governor over the land; he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and bowed down themselves to him with their faces to the earth. 7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly with them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food. 8 And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew not him. 9 And Joseph remembered the dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. 10 And they said unto him, Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. 11 We are all one man’s sons; we are true men, thy servants are no spies. 12 And he said unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. 13 And they said, We thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not. 14 And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spake unto you, saying, Ye are spies: 15 hereby ye shall be proved: by the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither. 16 Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be bound, that your words may be proved, whether there be truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies. 17 And he put them all together into ward three days. 18 And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God: 19 if ye be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in your prison house; but go ye, carry corn for the famine of your houses: 20 and bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they did so. 21 And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us. 22 And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore also, behold, his blood is required. 23 And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for there was an interpreter between them. 24 And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and he returned to them, and spake to them, and took Simeon from among them, and bound him before their eyes. 25 Then Joseph commanded to fill their vessels with corn, and to restore every man’s money into his sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus was it done unto them. 26 And they laded their asses with their corn, and departed thence. 27 And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the lodging place, he espied his money; and, behold, it was in the mouth of his sack. 28 And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they turned trembling one to another, saying, What is this that God hath done unto us? 29 And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that had befallen them; saying, 30 The man, the lord of the land, spake roughly with us, and took us for spies of the country. 31 And we said unto him, We are true men; we are no spies: 32 we be twelve brethren, sons of our father; one is not, and the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan. 33 And the man, the lord of the land, said unto us, Hereby shall I know that ye are true men; leave one of your brethren with me, and take [corn for] the famine of your houses, and go your way: 34 and bring your youngest brother unto me: then shall I know that ye are no spies, but that ye are true men: so will I deliver you your brother, and ye shall traffick in the land. 35 And it came to pass as they emptied their sacks, that, behold, every man’s bundle of money was in his sack: and when they and their father saw their bundles of money, they were afraid. 36 And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me. 37 And Reuben spake unto his father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to thee: deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to thee again. 38 And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.
