Judges 9:8-15 The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree , Reign thou over us.

9 H2132 But the olive tree H559 said [H8799] H2308 unto them, Should I leave [H8804] H1880 my fatness H3513 , wherewith by me they honour [H8762] H430 God H582 and man H1980 , and go [H8804] H5128 to be promoted [H8800] H6086 over the trees?

10 H6086 And the trees H559 said [H8799] H8384 to the fig tree H3212 , Come [H8798] H4427 thou, and reign [H8798] over us.

11 H8384 But the fig tree H559 said [H8799] H2308 unto them, Should I forsake [H8804] H4987 my sweetness H2896 , and my good H8570 fruit H1980 , and go [H8804] H5128 to be promoted [H8800] H6086 over the trees?

12 H559 Then said [H8799] H6086 the trees H1612 unto the vine H3212 , Come [H8798] H4427 thou, and reign [H8798] over us.

13 H1612 And the vine H559 said [H8799] H2308 unto them, Should I leave [H8804] H8492 my wine H8055 , which cheereth [H8764] H430 God H582 and man H1980 , and go [H8804] H5128 to be promoted [H8800] H6086 over the trees?

14 H559 Then said [H8799] H6086 all the trees H329 unto the bramble H3212 , Come [H8798] H4427 thou, and reign [H8798] over us.

15 H329 And the bramble H559 said [H8799] H6086 unto the trees H571 , If in truth H4886 ye anoint [H8802] H4428 me king H935 over you, then come [H8798] H2620 and put your trust [H8798] H6738 in my shadow H784 : and if not, let fire H3318 come out [H8799] H329 of the bramble H398 , and devour [H8799] H730 the cedars H3844 of Lebanon.
