2 H1121 בן old H6242 עשׂרים twenty H2568 וחמשׁ and five H8141 שׁנה years H1961 היה He was H4427 במלכו when he began to reign, H6242 ועשׂרים twenty H8672 ותשׁע and nine H8141 שׁנה years H4427 מלך and reigned H3389 בירושׁלם in Jerusalem. H8034 ושׁם name H517 אמו And his mother's H3086 יהועדין Jehoaddan H4480 מן of H3389 ירושׁלם׃ Jerusalem.

3 H6213 ויעשׂ And he did H3477 הישׁר right H5869 בעיני in the sight H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H7535 רק yet H3808 לא not H1732 כדוד like David H1 אביו his father: H3605 ככל according to all things H834 אשׁר as H6213 עשׂה he did H3101 יואשׁ Joash H1 אביו his father H6213 עשׂה׃ did.

4 H7535 רק Howbeit H1116 הבמות the high places H3808 לא were not H5493 סרו taken away: H5750 עוד as yet H5971 העם the people H2076 מזבחים did sacrifice H6999 ומקטרים and burnt incense H1116 בבמות׃ on the high places.

5 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass, H834 כאשׁר as soon as H2388 חזקה was confirmed H4467 הממלכה the kingdom H3027 בידו in his hand, H5221 ויך that he slew H853 את H5650 עבדיו his servants H5221 המכים which had slain H853 את H4428 המלך the king H1 אביו׃ his father.

6 H853 ואת H1121 בני But the children H5221 המכים of the murderers H3808 לא not: H4191 המית he slew H3789 ככתוב according unto that which is written H5612 בספר in the book H8451 תורת of the law H4872 משׁה of Moses, H834 אשׁר wherein H6680 צוה commanded, H3068 יהוה the LORD H559 לאמר saying, H3808 לא shall not H4191 יומתו be put to death H1 אבות The fathers H5921 על for H1121 בנים the children, H1121 ובנים the children H3808 לא nor H4191 יומתו be put to death H5921 על for H1 אבות the fathers; H3588 כי but H518 אם but H376 אישׁ every man H2399 בחטאו for his own sin. H4191 ימות׃ shall be put to death

7 H1931 הוא He H5221 הכה slew H853 את H123 אדום of Edom H1516 בגיא in the valley H4417 המלח of salt H6235 עשׂרת ten H505 אלפים thousand, H8610 ותפשׂ and took H853 את H5554 הסלע Selah H4421 במלחמה by war, H7121 ויקרא and called H853 את H8034 שׁמה the name H3371 יקתאל of it Joktheel H5704 עד unto H3117 היום day. H2088 הזה׃ this

8 H227 אז Then H7971 שׁלח sent H558 אמציה Amaziah H4397 מלאכים messengers H413 אל to H3060 יהואשׁ Jehoash, H1121 בן the son H3059 יהואחז of Jehoahaz H1121 בן son H3058 יהוא of Jehu, H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 לאמר saying, H1980 לכה Come, H7200 נתראה let us look one another H6440 פנים׃ in the face.

9 H7971 וישׁלח sent H3060 יהואשׁ And Jehoash H4428 מלך the king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H413 אל to H558 אמציהו Amaziah H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H559 לאמר saying, H2336 החוח The thistle H834 אשׁר that H3844 בלבנון in Lebanon H7971 שׁלח sent H413 אל to H730 הארז the cedar H834 אשׁר that H3844 בלבנון in Lebanon, H559 לאמר saying, H5414 תנה Give H853 את H1323 בתך thy daughter H1121 לבני to my son H802 לאשׁה to wife: H5674 ותעבר and there passed by H2416 חית beast H7704 השׂדה a wild H834 אשׁר that H3844 בלבנון in Lebanon, H7429 ותרמס and trod down H853 את H2336 החוח׃ the thistle.

10 H5221 הכה H5221 הכית H853 את H123 אדום Edom, H5375 ונשׂאך hath lifted thee up: H3820 לבך and thine heart H3513 הכבד glory H3427 ושׁב and tarry H1004 בביתך at home: H4100 ולמה for why H1624 תתגרה shouldest thou meddle H7451 ברעה to hurt, H5307 ונפלתה that thou shouldest fall, H859 אתה thou, H3063 ויהודה and Judah H5973 עמך׃ with

11 H3808 ולא would not H8085 שׁמע hear. H558 אמציהו But Amaziah H5927 ויעל went up; H3060 יהואשׁ Therefore Jehoash H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H7200 ויתראו looked one another H6440 פנים in the face H1931 הוא and he H558 ואמציהו and Amaziah H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah H1053 בבית שׁמשׁ at Beth-shemesh, H834 אשׁר which H3063 ליהודה׃ to Judah.

12 H5062 וינגף was put to the worse H3063 יהודה And Judah H6440 לפני before H3478 ישׂראל Israel; H5127 וינסו and they fled H376 אישׁ every man H168 לאהלו׃ to their tents.

13 H853 ואת H558 אמציהו Amaziah H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah, H1121 בן the son H3060 יהואשׁ And Jehoash H1121 בן the son H274 אחזיהו of Ahaziah, H8610 תפשׂ took H3060 יהואשׁ of Jehoash H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H1053 בבית שׁמשׁ at Beth-shemesh, H935 ויבאו and came H3389 ירושׁלם to Jerusalem, H6555 ויפרץ and broke down H2346 בחומת the wall H3389 ירושׁלם of Jerusalem H8179 בשׁער from the gate H669 אפרים of Ephraim H5704 עד unto H8179 שׁער gate, H6438 הפנה the corner H702 ארבע four H3967 מאות hundred H520 אמה׃ cubits.

14 H3947 ולקח And he took H853 את H3605 כל all H2091 הזהב the gold H3701 והכסף and silver, H853 ואת H3605 כל and all H3627 הכלים the vessels H4672 הנמצאים that were found H1004 בית in the house H3069 יהוה H214 ובאצרות and in the treasures H1004 בית house, H4428 המלך of the king's H853 ואת H1121 בני and hostages, H8594 התערבות and hostages, H7725 וישׁב and returned H8111 שׁמרונה׃ to Samaria.

16 H7901 וישׁכב slept H3060 יהואשׁ And Jehoash H5973 עם with H1 אבתיו his fathers, H6912 ויקבר and was buried H8111 בשׁמרון in Samaria H5973 עם with H4428 מלכי the kings H3478 ישׂראל of Israel; H4427 וימלך reigned H3379 ירבעם and Jeroboam H1121 בנו his son H8478 תחתיו׃ in his stead.

17 H2421 ויחי lived H558 אמציהו And Amaziah H1121 בן the son H3101 יואשׁ of Joash H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah H310 אחרי after H4194 מות the death H3060 יהואשׁ of Jehoash H1121 בן son H3059 יהואחז of Jehoahaz H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H2568 חמשׁ fifteen H6240 עשׂרה fifteen H8141 שׁנה׃ years.

19 H7194 ויקשׁרו Now they made H5921 עליו against H7195 קשׁר a conspiracy H3389 בירושׁלם him in Jerusalem: H5127 וינס and he fled H3923 לכישׁה to Lachish; H7971 וישׁלחו but they sent H310 אחריו after H3923 לכישׁה him to Lachish, H4191 וימתהו and slew H8033 שׁם׃ him there.

20 H5375 וישׂאו And they brought H853 אתו H5921 על him on H5483 הסוסים horses: H6912 ויקבר and he was buried H3389 בירושׁלם at Jerusalem H5973 עם with H1 אבתיו his fathers H5892 בעיר in the city H1732 דוד׃ of David.

22 H1931 הוא He H1129 בנה built H853 את H359 אילת Elath, H7725 וישׁבה and restored H3063 ליהודה it to Judah, H310 אחרי after that H7901 שׁכב slept H4428 המלך the king H5973 עם with H1 אבתיו׃ his fathers.

23 H8141 בשׁנת year H2568 חמשׁ H6240 עשׂרה H8141 שׁנה years. H558 לאמציהו of Amaziah H1121 בן the son H3101 יואשׁ of Joash H4428 מלך king H3063 יהודה of Judah H4427 מלך began to reign H3379 ירבעם Jeroboam H1121 בן the son H3101 יואשׁ of Joash H4428 מלך king H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H8111 בשׁמרון in Samaria, H705 ארבעים forty H259 ואחת and one H8141 שׁנה׃

24 H6213 ויעשׂ And he did H7451 הרע evil H5869 בעיני in the sight H3068 יהוה of the LORD: H3808 לא not H5493 סר he departed H3605 מכל from all H2403 חטאות the sins H3379 ירבעם of Jeroboam H1121 בן the son H5028 נבט of Nebat, H834 אשׁר who H2398 החטיא to sin. H853 את H3478 ישׂראל׃ made Israel

25 H1931 הוא He H7725 השׁיב restored H853 את H1366 גבול the coast H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H935 מלבוא from the entering H2574 חמת of Hamath H5704 עד unto H3220 ים the sea H6160 הערבה of the plain, H1697 כדבר according to the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H834 אשׁר which H1696 דבר he spoke H3027 ביד by the hand H5650 עבדו of his servant H3124 יונה Jonah, H1121 בן the son H573 אמתי of Amittai, H5030 הנביא the prophet, H834 אשׁר which H1662 מגת החפר׃

26 H3588 כי For H7200 ראה saw H3068 יהוה the LORD H853 את H6040 עני the affliction H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H4784 מרה bitter: H3966 מאד very H657 ואפס for not any H6113 עצור shut up, H657 ואפס nor any H5800 עזוב left, H369 ואין nor H5826 עזר any helper H3478 לישׂראל׃ for Israel.

27 H3808 ולא not H1696 דבר said H3068 יהוה And the LORD H4229 למחות that he would blot out H853 את H8034 שׁם the name H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H8478 מתחת from under H8064 השׁמים heaven: H3467 ויושׁיעם but he saved H3027 ביד them by the hand H3379 ירבעם of Jeroboam H1121 בן the son H3101 יואשׁ׃ of Joash.
