Numbers 22:20-38 ויבא came אלהים And God אל unto בלעם Balaam לילה at night, ויאמר and said לו אם unto him, If לקרא to call לך באו come האנשׁים the men קום thee, rise up, לך go אתם with ואך them; but yet את הדבר the word אשׁר which אדבר I shall say אליך unto אתו תעשׂה׃ thee, that shalt thou do.

20 H935 ויבא came H430 אלהים And God H413 אל unto H1109 בלעם Balaam H3915 לילה at night, H559 ויאמר and said H518 לו אם unto him, If H7121 לקרא to call H935 לך באו come H376 האנשׁים the men H6965 קום thee, rise up, H1980 לך go H854 אתם with H389 ואך them; but yet H853 את H1697 הדבר the word H834 אשׁר which H1696 אדבר I shall say H413 אליך unto H853 אתו H6213 תעשׂה׃ thee, that shalt thou do.

21 H6965 ויקם rose up H1109 בלעם And Balaam H1242 בבקר in the morning, H2280 ויחבשׁ and saddled H853 את H860 אתנו his ass, H1980 וילך and went H5973 עם with H8269 שׂרי the princes H4124 מואב׃ of Moab.

22 H2734 ויחר was kindled H639 אף anger H430 אלהים And God's H3588 כי because H1980 הולך went: H1931 הוא he H3320 ויתיצב stood H4397 מלאך and the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H1870 בדרך in the way H7854 לשׂטן for an adversary H1931 לו והוא against him. Now he H7392 רכב was riding H5921 על upon H860 אתנו his ass, H8147 ושׁני and his two H5288 נעריו servants H5973 עמו׃ with

23 H7200 ותרא saw H860 האתון And the ass H853 את H4397 מלאך the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H5324 נצב standing H1870 בדרך in the way, H2719 וחרבו and his sword H8025 שׁלופה drawn H3027 בידו in his hand: H5186 ותט turned aside H860 האתון and the ass H4480 מן out of H1870 הדרך the way, H1980 ותלך and went H7704 בשׂדה into the field: H5221 ויך smote H1109 בלעם and Balaam H853 את H860 האתון the ass, H5186 להטתה to turn H1870 הדרך׃ her into the way.

24 H5975 ויעמד stood H4397 מלאך But the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H4934 במשׁעול in a path H3754 הכרמים of the vineyards, H1447 גדר a wall H2088 מזה on this side, H1447 וגדר and a wall H2088 מזה׃ on that side.

25 H7200 ותרא saw H860 האתון And when the ass H853 את H4397 מלאך the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H3905 ותלחץ she thrust herself H413 אל unto H7023 הקיר the wall, H3905 ותלחץ and crushed H853 את H7272 רגל foot H1109 בלעם Balaam's H413 אל against H7023 הקיר the wall: H3254 ויסף her again. H5221 להכתה׃ and he smote

26 H3254 ויוסף further, H4397 מלאך And the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H5674 עבור went H5975 ויעמד and stood H4725 במקום place, H6862 צר in a narrow H834 אשׁר where H369 אין no H1870 דרך way H5186 לנטות to turn H3225 ימין either to the right hand H8040 ושׂמאול׃ or to the left.

27 H7200 ותרא saw H860 האתון And when the ass H853 את H4397 מלאך the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H7257 ותרבץ she fell down H8478 תחת under H1109 בלעם Balaam: H2734 ויחר was kindled, H639 אף anger H1109 בלעם and Balaam's H5221 ויך and he smote H853 את H860 האתון the ass H4731 במקל׃ with a staff.

28 H6605 ויפתח opened H3068 יהוה And the LORD H853 את H6310 פי the mouth H860 האתון of the ass, H559 ותאמר and she said H1109 לבלעם unto Balaam, H4100 מה What H6213 עשׂיתי have I done H3588 לך כי unto thee, that H5221 הכיתני thou hast smitten H2088 זה me these H7969 שׁלשׁ three H7272 רגלים׃ times?

29 H559 ויאמר said H1109 בלעם And Balaam H860 לאתון unto the ass, H3588 כי Because H5953 התעללת thou hast mocked H3863 בי לו me: I would H3426 ישׁ there were H2719 חרב a sword H3027 בידי in mine hand, H3588 כי for H6258 עתה now H2026 הרגתיך׃ would I kill

30 H559 ותאמר said H860 האתון And the ass H413 אל unto H1109 בלעם Balaam, H3808 הלוא not H595 אנכי I H860 אתנך thine ass, H834 אשׁר which H7392 רכבת thou hast ridden H5921 עלי upon H5750 מעודך ever since H5704 עד thine unto H3117 היום day? H2088 הזה this H5532 ההסכן H5532 הסכנתי H6213 לעשׂות to do H3541 לך כה so H559 ויאמר unto thee? And he said, H3808 לא׃ Nay.

31 H1540 ויגל opened H3068 יהוה Then the LORD H853 את H5869 עיני the eyes H1109 בלעם of Balaam, H7200 וירא and he saw H853 את H4397 מלאך the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H5324 נצב standing H1870 בדרך in the way, H2719 וחרבו and his sword H8025 שׁלפה drawn H3027 בידו in his hand: H6915 ויקד and he bowed down his head, H7812 וישׁתחו and fell flat H639 לאפיו׃ on his face.

32 H559 ויאמר said H413 אליו unto H4397 מלאך And the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H5921 על H4100 מה H5221 הכית hast thou smitten H853 את H860 אתנך thine ass H2088 זה these H7969 שׁלושׁ three H7272 רגלים times? H2009 הנה behold, H595 אנכי I H3318 יצאתי went out H7854 לשׂטן to withstand H3588 כי thee, because H3399 ירט is perverse H1870 הדרך way H5048 לנגדי׃ before

33 H7200 ותראני saw H860 האתון And the ass H5186 ותט me, and turned H6440 לפני from H2088 זה me these H7969 שׁלשׁ three H7272 רגלים times: H194 אולי unless H5186 נטתה she had turned H6440 מפני from H3588 כי me, surely H6258 עתה now H1571 גם also H853 אתכה H2026 הרגתי I had slain H853 ואותה H2421 החייתי׃

34 H559 ויאמר said H1109 בלעם And Balaam H413 אל unto H4397 מלאך the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H2398 חטאתי I have sinned; H3588 כי for H3808 לא not H3045 ידעתי I knew H3588 כי that H859 אתה thou H5324 נצב stoodest H7125 לקראתי against H1870 בדרך in the way H6258 ועתה me: now H518 אם therefore, if H7451 רע H5869 בעיניך it displease H7725 אשׁובה׃ thee, I will get me back again.

35 H559 ויאמר said H4397 מלאך And the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אל unto H1109 בלעם Balaam, H1980 לך Go H5973 עם with H376 האנשׁים the men: H657 ואפס but only H853 את H1697 הדבר the word H834 אשׁר that H1696 אדבר I shall speak H413 אליך unto H853 אתו H1696 תדבר thee, that thou shalt speak. H1980 וילך went H1109 בלעם So Balaam H5973 עם with H8269 שׂרי the princes H1111 בלק׃ of Balak.

36 H8085 וישׁמע heard H1111 בלק And when Balak H3588 כי that H935 בא was come, H1109 בלעם Balaam H3318 ויצא he went out H7125 לקראתו to meet H413 אל him unto H5892 עיר a city H4124 מואב of Moab, H834 אשׁר which H5921 על in H1366 גבול the border H769 ארנן of Arnon, H834 אשׁר which H7097 בקצה in the utmost H1366 הגבול׃ coast.

37 H559 ויאמר said H1111 בלק And Balak H413 אל unto H1109 בלעם Balaam, H3808 הלא Did I not H7971 שׁלח earnestly send H7971 שׁלחתי earnestly send H413 אליך unto H7121 לקרא thee to call H4100 לך למה thee? wherefore H3808 לא thou not H1980 הלכת camest H413 אלי unto H552 האמנם indeed H3808 לא H3201 אוכל H3513 כבדך׃ to promote thee to honor?

38 H559 ויאמר said H1109 בלעם And Balaam H413 אל unto H1111 בלק Balak, H2009 הנה Lo, H935 באתי I am come H413 אליך unto H6258 עתה thee: have I now H3605 היכל H3201 אוכל any power at all H1696 דבר to say H3972 מאומה any thing? H1697 הדבר the word H834 אשׁר that H7760 ישׂים putteth H430 אלהים God H6310 בפי in my mouth, H853 אתו H1696 אדבר׃ that shall I speak.
