2 Chronicles 12

KJV_Strongs(i)
1 H7346 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam H3559 had established [H8687]   H4438 the kingdom H2393 , and had strengthened H5800 himself, he forsook [H8804]   H8451 the law H3068 of the LORD H3478 , and all Israel with him.
2 H2549 And it came to pass, that in the fifth H8141 year H4428 of king H7346 Rehoboam H7895 Shishak H4428 king H4714 of Egypt H5927 came up [H8804]   H3389 against Jerusalem H4603 , because they had transgressed [H8804]   H3068 against the LORD,
  3 H3967 With twelve hundred H505   H7393 chariots H8346 , and threescore H505 thousand H6571 horsemen H5971 : and the people H4557 were without number H935 that came [H8804]   H4714 with him out of Egypt H3864 ; the Lubims H5525 , the Sukkiims H3569 , and the Ethiopians.
  4 H3920 And he took [H8799]   H4694 the fenced H5892 cities H3063 which pertained to Judah H935 , and came [H8799]   H3389 to Jerusalem.
5 H935 Then came [H8804]   H8098 Shemaiah H5030 the prophet H7346 to Rehoboam H8269 , and to the princes H3063 of Judah H622 , that were gathered together [H8738]   H3389 to Jerusalem H6440 because H7895 of Shishak H559 , and said [H8799]   H559 unto them, Thus saith [H8804]   H3068 the LORD H5800 , Ye have forsaken [H8804]   H637 me, and therefore have I also H5800 left [H8804]   H3027 you in the hand H7895 of Shishak.
6 H8269 Whereupon the princes H3478 of Israel H4428 and the king H3665 humbled [H8735]   H559 themselves; and they said [H8799]   H3068 , The LORD H6662 is righteous.
7 H3068 And when the LORD H7200 saw [H8800]   H3665 that they humbled [H8738]   H1697 themselves, the word H3068 of the LORD H8098 came to Shemaiah H559 , saying [H8800]   H3665 , They have humbled [H8738]   H7843 themselves; therefore I will not destroy [H8686]   H5414 them, but I will grant [H8804]   H4592 them some H6413 deliverance H2534 ; and my wrath H5413 shall not be poured out [H8799]   H3389 upon Jerusalem H3027 by the hand H7895 of Shishak.
8 H5650 Nevertheless they shall be his servants H3045 ; that they may know [H8799]   H5656 my service H5656 , and the service H4467 of the kingdoms H776 of the countries.
  9 H7895 So Shishak H4428 king H4714 of Egypt H5927 came up [H8799]   H3389 against Jerusalem H3947 , and took away [H8799]   H214 the treasures H1004 of the house H3068 of the LORD H214 , and the treasures H4428 of the king's H1004 house H3947 ; he took [H8804]   H3947 all: he carried away [H8799]   H4043 also the shields H2091 of gold H8010 which Solomon H6213 had made [H8804]  .
  10 H4428 Instead of which king H7346 Rehoboam H6213 made [H8799]   H4043 shields H5178 of brass H6485 , and committed [H8689]   H3027 them to the hands H8269 of the chief H7323 of the guard [H8801]   H8104 , that kept [H8802]   H6607 the entrance H4428 of the king's H1004 house.
  11 H1767 And when H4428 the king H935 entered [H8800]   H1004 into the house H3068 of the LORD H7323 , the guard [H8801]   H935 came [H8804]   H5375 and fetched [H8804]   H7725 them, and brought them again [H8689]   H7323 into the guard [H8801]   H8372 chamber.
12 H3665 And when he humbled [H8736]   H639 himself, the wrath H3068 of the LORD H7725 turned [H8804]   H7843 from him, that he would not destroy [H8687]   H3617 him altogether H3063 : and also in Judah H1697 things H2896 went well.
  13 H4428 So king H7346 Rehoboam H2388 strengthened [H8691]   H3389 himself in Jerusalem H4427 , and reigned [H8799]   H7346 : for Rehoboam H259 was one H705 and forty H8141 years H1121 old H4427 when he began to reign [H8800]   H4427 , and he reigned [H8804]   H7651 seventeen H6240   H8141 years H3389 in Jerusalem H5892 , the city H3068 which the LORD H977 had chosen [H8804]   H7626 out of all the tribes H3478 of Israel H7760 , to put [H8800]   H8034 his name H517 there. And his mother's H8034 name H5279 was Naamah H5985 an Ammonitess.
  14 H6213 And he did [H8799]   H7451 evil H3559 , because he prepared [H8689]   H3820 not his heart H1875 to seek [H8800]   H3068 the LORD.
15 H1697 Now the acts H7346 of Rehoboam H7223 , first H314 and last H3789 , are they not written [H8803]   H1697 in the book H8098 of Shemaiah H5030 the prophet H5714 , and of Iddo H2374 the seer H3187 concerning genealogies [H8692]   H4421 ? And there were wars H7346 between Rehoboam H3379 and Jeroboam H3117 continually.
  16 H7346 And Rehoboam H7901 slept [H8799]   H1 with his fathers H6912 , and was buried [H8735]   H5892 in the city H1732 of David H29 : and Abijah H1121 his son H4427 reigned [H8799]   in his stead.
ERV(i) 1 And it came to pass, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. 2 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against the LORD, 3 with twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubim, the Sukkiim, and the Ethiopians. 4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came unto Jerusalem. 5 Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 6 Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous. 7 And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; I will not destroy them: but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. 8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries. 9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all away: he took away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made. 10 And king Rehoboam made in their stead shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, that kept the door of the king’s house. 11 And it was so, that as oft as the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber. 12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and moreover in Judah there were good things [found]. 13 So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there: and his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess. 14 And he did that which was evil, because he set not his heart to seek the LORD. 15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the histories of Shemaiah the prophet and of Iddo the seer, after the manner of genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually. 16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.
