KJV_Strongs(i)
G1161 And G2596   G1565 the same G2540 time G1096 there arose [G5633]   G3756 no G3641 small G5017 stir G4012 about G3598 that way.
G1063 For G5100 a certain G3686 man named G1216 Demetrius G695 , a silversmith G4160 , which made [G5723]   G693 silver G3485 shrines G735 for Diana G3930 , brought [G5710]   G3756 no G3641 small G2039 gain G5079 unto the craftsmen;
G3739 Whom G4867 he called together [G5660]   G2040 with the workmen G4012 of G5108 like occupation G2532 , and G2036 said [G5627]   G435 , Sirs G1987 , ye know [G5736]   G3754 that G1537 by G5026 this G2039 craft G2076 we have [G5748]   G2257 our G2142 wealth.
G2532 Moreover G2334 ye see [G5719]   G2532 and G191 hear [G5719]   G3754 , that G3756 not G3440 alone G2181 at Ephesus G235 , but G4975 almost G3956 throughout all G773 Asia G3778 , this G3972 Paul G3982 hath persuaded [G5660]   G3179 and turned away [G5656]   G2425 much G3793 people G3004 , saying [G5723]   G3754 that G1526 they be [G5748]   G3756 no G2316 gods G3588 , which G1096 are made [G5740]   G1223 with G5495 hands:
G1161 So G3756 that not G3440 only G5124 this G2254 our G3313 craft G2793 is in danger [G5719]   G2064 to be set [G5629]   G1519 at G557 nought G235 ; but G2532 also G2411 that the temple G3173 of the great G2299 goddess G735 Diana G1519 should be despised G3762   G3049   [G5683]   G1161 , and G2532   G846 her G3168 magnificence G3195 should [G5721]   G2507 be destroyed [G5745]   G3739 , whom G3650 all G773 Asia G2532 and G3625 the world G4576 worshippeth [G5736]  .
G1161 And G191 when they heard [G5660]   G1096 these sayings, they were [G5637]   G4134 full G2372 of wrath G2532 , and G2896 cried out [G5707]   G3004 , saying [G5723]   G3173 , Great G735 is Diana G2180 of the Ephesians.
G2532 And G3650 the whole G4172 city G4130 was filled [G5681]   G4799 with confusion G5037 : and G4884 having caught [G5660]   G1050 Gaius G2532 and G708 Aristarchus G3110 , men of Macedonia G3972 , Paul's G4898 companions in travel G3729 , they rushed [G5656]   G3661 with one accord G1519 into G2302 the theatre.
G1161 And G1014 when G3972 Paul G1014 would [G5740]   G1525 have entered [G5629]   G1519 in G1218 unto the people G3101 , the disciples G1439 suffered [G5707]   G846 him G3756 not.
G1161 And G2532   G5100 certain G775 of the chief of Asia G5607 , which were [G5752]   G846 his G5384 friends G3992 , sent [G5660]   G4314 unto G846 him G3870 , desiring [G5707]   G1325 him that he would G3361 not G1325 adventure [G5629]   G1438 himself G1519 into G2302 the theatre.
G243 Some G3767 therefore G3303   G2896 cried [G5707]   G5100 one thing G243 , and some another G1063 : for G1577 the assembly G2258 was [G5713]   G4797 confused [G5772]   G2532 ; and G4119 the more part G1492 knew [G5715]   G3756 not G5101 wherefore G1752   G4905 they were come together [G5715]  .
G1161 And G4264 they drew [G5656]   G223 Alexander G1537 out of G3793 the multitude G2453 , the Jews G4261 putting G846 him G4261 forward [G5660]   [G5625]   G4261   [G5723]   G1161 . And G223 Alexander G2678 beckoned [G5660]   G5495 with the hand G2309 , and would [G5707]   G626 have made his defence [G5738]   G1218 unto the people.
G1161 But G1921 when they knew [G5631]   G3754 that G2076 he was [G5748]   G2453 a Jew G3956 , all G1096   [G5633]   G1537 with G3391 one G5456 voice G5613 about G1909 the space G1417 of two G5610 hours G2896 cried out [G5723]   G3173 , Great G735 is Diana G2180 of the Ephesians.
G1161 And G1122 when the townclerk G2687 had appeased [G5660]   G3793 the people G5346 , he said [G5748]   G435 , Ye men G2180 of Ephesus G5101 , what G1063   G444 man G2076 is there [G5748]   G3739 that G1097 knoweth [G5719]   G3756 not G4172 how that the city G2180 of the Ephesians G5607 is [G5752]   G3511 a worshipper G3173 of the great G2299 goddess G735 Diana G2532 , and G1356 of the image which fell down from Jupiter?
G5607 Seeing [G5752]   G3767 then G5130 that these things G368 cannot be spoken against G5209 , ye G1163 ought [G5752]   G2076   [G5748]   G5225 to be [G5721]   G2687 quiet [G5772]   G2532 , and G4238 to do [G5721]   G3367 nothing G4312 rashly.
G1063 For G71 ye have brought hither [G5627]   G5128 these G435 men G3777 , which are neither G2417 robbers of churches G3777 , nor yet G987 blasphemers [G5723]   G5216 of your G2299 goddess.
G3303 Wherefore G3767   G1487 if G1216 Demetrius G2532 , and G5079 the craftsmen G4862 which are with G846 him G2192 , have [G5719]   G3056 a matter G4314 against G5100 any man G60 , the law G71 is open [G5743]   G2532 , and G1526 there are [G5748]   G446 deputies G1458 : let them implead [G5720]   G240 one another.
G1161 But G1487 if G1934 ye enquire [G5719]   G5100 any thing G4012 concerning G2087 other matters G1956 , it shall be determined [G5701]   G1722 in G1772 a lawful G1577 assembly.
G1063 For G2532   G2793 we are in danger [G5719]   G1458 to be called in question [G5745]   G4012 for G4594 this day's G4714 uproar G5225 , there being [G5723]   G3367 no G158 cause G4012 whereby G3739   G1410 we may [G5695]   G591 give [G5629]   G3056 an account G5026 of this G4963 concourse.
G2532 And G2036 when he had G5023 thus G2036 spoken [G5631]   G630 , he dismissed [G5656]   G1577 the assembly.
ERV(i) 23 And about that time there arose no small stir concerning the Way. 24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines of Diana, brought no little business unto the craftsmen; 25 whom he gathered together, with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this business we have our wealth. 26 And ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands: 27 and not only is there danger that this our trade come into disrepute; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana be made of no account, and that she should even be deposed from her magnificence, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth. 28 And when they heard this, they were filled with wrath, and cried out, saying, Great [is] Diana of the Ephesians. 29 And the city was filled with the confusion: and they rushed with one accord into the theatre, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel. 30 And when Paul was minded to enter in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not. 31 And certain also of the chief officers of Asia, being his friends, sent unto him, and besought him not to adventure himself into the theatre. 32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was in confusion; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together. 33 And they brought Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made a defence unto the people. 34 But when they perceived that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great [is] Diana of the Ephesians. 35 And when the townclerk had quieted the multitude, he saith, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there who knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is temple-keeper of the great Diana, and of the [image] which fell down from Jupiter? 36 Seeing then that these things cannot be gainsaid, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rash. 37 For ye have brought [hither] these men, which are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of our goddess. 38 If therefore Demetrius, and the craftsmen that are with him, have a matter against any man, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls: let them accuse one another. 39 But if ye seek anything about other matters, it shall be settled in the regular assembly. 40 For indeed we are in danger to be accused concerning this day’s riot, there being no cause [for it]: and as touching it we shall not be able to give account of this concourse. 41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
