  17 H4872 And Moses H7971 sent [H8799]   H8446 them to spy out [H8800]   H776 the land H3667 of Canaan H559 , and said [H8799]   H5927 unto them, Get you up [H8798]   H5045 this way southward H5927 , and go up [H8804]   H2022 into the mountain:
  18 H7200 And see [H8804]   H776 the land H5971 , what it is; and the people H3427 that dwelleth [H8802]   H2389 therein, whether they be strong H7504 or weak H4592 , few H7227 or many;
  19 H776 And what the land H3427 is that they dwell in [H8802]   H2896 , whether it be good H7451 or bad H5892 ; and what cities H3427 they be that they dwell [H8802]   H2007 in H4264 , whether in tents H4013 , or in strong holds;
  20 H776 And what the land H8082 is, whether it be fat H7330 or lean H3426 , whether there be H6086 wood H2388 therein, or not. And be ye of good courage [H8694]   H3947 , and bring [H8804]   H6529 of the fruit H776 of the land H3117 . Now the time H3117 was the time H1061 of the firstripe H6025 grapes.
  21 H5927 So they went up [H8799]   H8446 , and searched [H8799]   H776 the land H4057 from the wilderness H6790 of Zin H7340 unto Rehob H935 , as men come [H8800]   H2574 to Hamath.
  22 H5927 And they ascended [H8799]   H5045 by the south H935 , and came [H8799]   H2275 unto Hebron H289 ; where Ahiman H8344 , Sheshai H8526 , and Talmai H3211 , the children H6061 of Anak H2275 , were . (Now Hebron H1129 was built [H8738]   H7651 seven H8141 years H6440 before H6814 Zoan H4714 in Egypt.)
  23 H935 And they came [H8799]   H5158 unto the brook H812 of Eshcol H3772 , and cut down [H8799]   H2156 from thence a branch H259 with one H811 cluster H6025 of grapes H5375 , and they bare [H8799]   H8147 it between two H4132 upon a staff H7416 ; and they brought of the pomegranates H8384 , and of the figs.
  24 H4725 The place H7121 was called [H8804]   H5158 the brook H812 Eshcol H182 , because of H811 the cluster of grapes H1121 which the children H3478 of Israel H3772 cut down [H8804]   from thence.
  25 H7725 And they returned [H8799]   H8446 from searching [H8800]   H776 of the land H7093 after H705 forty H3117 days.
  26 H3212 And they went [H8799]   H935 and came [H8799]   H4872 to Moses H175 , and to Aaron H5712 , and to all the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H4057 , unto the wilderness H6290 of Paran H6946 , to Kadesh H7725 ; and brought back [H8686]   H1697 word H5712 unto them, and unto all the congregation H7200 , and shewed [H8686]   H6529 them the fruit H776 of the land.
  27 H5608 And they told [H8762]   H559 him, and said [H8799]   H935 , We came [H8804]   H776 unto the land H7971 whither thou sentest [H8804]   H2100 us, and surely it floweth [H8802]   H2461 with milk H1706 and honey H6529 ; and this is the fruit of it.
  28 H657 Nevertheless H5971 the people H5794 be strong H3427 that dwell [H8802]   H776 in the land H5892 , and the cities H1219 are walled [H8803]   H3966 , and very H1419 great H7200 : and moreover we saw [H8804]   H3211 the children H6061 of Anak there.
  29 H6002 The Amalekites H3427 dwell [H8802]   H776 in the land H5045 of the south H2850 : and the Hittites H2983 , and the Jebusites H567 , and the Amorites H3427 , dwell [H8802]   H2022 in the mountains H3669 : and the Canaanites H3427 dwell [H8802]   H3220 by the sea H3027 , and by the coast H3383 of Jordan.
  30 H3612 And Caleb H2013 stilled [H8686]   H5971 the people H4872 before Moses H559 , and said [H8799]   H5927 , Let us go up [H8799]   H5927 at once [H8800]   H3423 , and possess [H8804]   H3201 it; for we are well able [H8799]   H3201 to overcome [H8800]   it.
  31 H582 But the men H5927 that went up [H8804]   H559 with him said [H8804]   H3201 , We be not able [H8799]   H5927 to go up [H8800]   H5971 against the people H2389 ; for they are stronger than we.
  32 H3318 And they brought up [H8686]   H1681 an evil report H776 of the land H8446 which they had searched [H8804]   H1121 unto the children H3478 of Israel H559 , saying [H8800]   H776 , The land H5674 , through which we have gone [H8804]   H8446 to search [H8800]   H776 it, is a land H398 that eateth up [H8802]   H3427 the inhabitants [H8802]   H5971 thereof; and all the people H7200 that we saw [H8804]   H8432 in it H582 are men H4060 of a great stature.
  33 H7200 And there we saw [H8804]   H5303 the giants H1121 , the sons H6061 of Anak H5303 , which come of the giants H5869 : and we were in our own sight H2284 as grasshoppers H5869 , and so we were in their sight.

  17 H7971 וישׁלח sent H853 אתם   H4872 משׁה And Moses H8446 לתור them to spy out H853 את   H776 ארץ the land H3667 כנען of Canaan, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אלהם unto H5927 עלו them, Get you up H2088 זה this H5045 בנגב southward, H5927 ועליתם and go up H853 את   H2022 ההר׃ the mountain:
  18 H7200 וראיתם And see H853 את   H776 הארץ the land, H4100 מה what H1931 הוא it H853 ואת   H5971 העם and the people H3427 הישׁב that dwelleth H5921 עליה therein, H2389 החזק strong H1931 הוא whether they H7504 הרפה or weak, H4592 המעט few H1931 הוא   H518 אם or H7227 רב׃ many;
  19 H4100 ומה And what H776 הארץ the land H834 אשׁר that H1931 הוא they H3427 ישׁב dwell H2896 בה הטובה good H1931 הוא in whether it H518 אם or H7451 רעה bad; H4100 ומה and what H5892 הערים cities H834 אשׁר that H1931 הוא they H3427 יושׁב dwell H2007 בהנה in, H4264 הבמחנים whether in tents, H518 אם or H4013 במבצרים׃ in strongholds;
  20 H4100 ומה And what H776 הארץ the land H8082 השׁמנה fat H1931 הוא whether it H518 אם or H7330 רזה lean, H3426 הישׁ whether there be H6086 בה עץ wood H518 אם therein, or H369 אין not. H2388 והתחזקתם And be ye of good courage, H3947 ולקחתם and bring H6529 מפרי of the fruit H776 הארץ of the land. H3117 והימים Now the time H3117 ימי the time H1061 בכורי of the firstripe H6025 ענבים׃ grapes.
  21 H5927 ויעלו So they went up, H8446 ויתרו and searched H853 את   H776 הארץ the land H4057 ממדבר from the wilderness H6790 צן of Zin H5704 עד unto H7340 רחב Rehob, H935 לבא as men come H2574 חמת׃ to Hamath.
  22 H5927 ויעלו And they ascended H5045 בנגב by the south, H935 ויבא and came H5704 עד unto H2275 חברון Hebron; H8033 ושׁם where H289 אחימן Ahiman, H8344 שׁשׁי Sheshai, H8526 ותלמי and Talmai, H3211 ילידי the children H6061 הענק of Anak, H2275 וחברון (Now Hebron H7651 שׁבע seven H8141 שׁנים years H1129 נבנתה was built H6440 לפני before H6814 צען Zoan H4714 מצרים׃ in Egypt.)
  23 H935 ויבאו And they came H5704 עד unto H5158 נחל the brook H812 אשׁכל of Eshcol, H3772 ויכרתו and cut down H8033 משׁם from thence H2156 זמורה a branch H811 ואשׁכול cluster H6025 ענבים of grapes, H259 אחד with one H5375 וישׂאהו and they bore H4132 במוט upon a staff; H8147 בשׁנים it between two H4480 ומן from thence H7416 הרמנים the pomegranates, H4480 ומן and of H8384 התאנים׃ the figs.
  24 H4725 למקום The place H1931 ההוא   H7121 קרא was called H5158 נחל the brook H812 אשׁכול Eshcol, H5921 על because H182 אדות because H811 האשׁכול of the cluster of grapes H834 אשׁר which H3772 כרתו cut down H8033 משׁם from thence. H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel
  25 H7725 וישׁבו And they returned H8446 מתור from searching H776 הארץ of the land H7093 מקץ after H705 ארבעים forty H3117 יום׃ days.
  26 H1980 וילכו And they went H935 ויבאו and came H413 אל to H4872 משׁה Moses, H413 ואל and to H175 אהרן Aaron, H413 ואל and to H3605 כל all H5712 עדת the congregation H1121 בני of the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H413 אל unto H4057 מדבר the wilderness H6290 פארן of Paran, H6946 קדשׁה to Kadesh; H7725 וישׁיבו and brought back H853 אתם   H1697 דבר word H853 ואת   H3605 כל unto them, and unto all H5712 העדה the congregation, H7200 ויראום and showed H853 את   H6529 פרי them the fruit H776 הארץ׃ of the land.
  27 H5608 ויספרו And they told H559 לו ויאמרו him, and said, H935 באנו We came H413 אל unto H776 הארץ the land H834 אשׁר whither H7971 שׁלחתנו thou sentest H1571 וגם us, and surely H2100 זבת floweth H2461 חלב with milk H1706 ודבשׁ and honey; H1931 הוא it H2088 וזה and this H6529 פריה׃ the fruit
  28 H657 אפס   H3588 כי   H5794 עז strong H5971 העם the people H3427 הישׁב that dwell H776 בארץ in the land, H5892 והערים and the cities H1219 בצרות walled, H1419 גדלת great: H3966 מאד very H1571 וגם and moreover H3211 ילדי the children H6061 הענק of Anak H7200 ראינו we saw H8033 שׁם׃ there.
  29 H6002 עמלק   H3427 יושׁב dwell H776 בארץ in the land H5045 הנגב of the south: H2850 והחתי and the Hittites, H2983 והיבוסי and the Jebusites, H567 והאמרי and the Amorites, H3427 יושׁב dwell H2022 בהר in the mountains: H3669 והכנעני and the Canaanites H3427 יושׁב dwell H5921 על by H3220 הים the sea, H5921 ועל and by H3027 יד the coast H3383 הירדן׃ of Jordan.
  30 H2013 ויהס stilled H3612 כלב And Caleb H853 את   H5971 העם the people H413 אל before H4872 משׁה Moses, H559 ויאמר and said, H5927 עלה   H5927 נעלה   H3423 וירשׁנו and possess H853 אתה   H3588 כי it; for H3201 יכול we are well able H3201 נוכל׃ to overcome
  31 H376 והאנשׁים But the men H834 אשׁר that H5927 עלו went up H5973 עמו with H559 אמרו him said, H3808 לא   H3201 נוכל   H5927 לעלות to go up H413 אל against H5971 העם the people; H3588 כי for H2389 חזק stronger H1931 הוא they H4480 ממנו׃ than
  32 H3318 ויציאו And they brought up H1681 דבת an evil report H776 הארץ of the land H834 אשׁר which H8446 תרו they had searched H853 אתה   H413 אל unto H1121 בני the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H559 לאמר saying, H776 הארץ The land, H834 אשׁר through which H5674 עברנו we have gone H8446 בה לתור to search H853 אתה   H776 ארץ it, a land H398 אכלת eateth up H3427 יושׁביה the inhabitants H1931 הוא that H3605 וכל thereof; and all H5971 העם the people H834 אשׁר that H7200 ראינו we saw H8432 בתוכה in H376 אנשׁי it men H4060 מדות׃ of a great stature.
  33 H8033 ושׁם And there H7200 ראינו we saw H853 את   H5303 הנפילים the giants, H1121 בני the sons H6061 ענק of Anak, H4480 מן of H5303 הנפלים the giants: H1961 ונהי and we were H5869 בעינינו in our own sight H2284 כחגבים as grasshoppers, H3651 וכן and so H1961 היינו we were H5869 בעיניהם׃ in their sight.
