  2 H4428 And to the kings H6828 that were on the north H2022 of the mountains H6160 , and of the plains H5045 south H3672 of Chinneroth H8219 , and in the valley H5299 , and in the borders H1756 of Dor H3220 on the west,
  3 H3669 And to the Canaanite H4217 on the east H3220 and on the west H567 , and to the Amorite H2850 , and the Hittite H6522 , and the Perizzite H2983 , and the Jebusite H2022 in the mountains H2340 , and to the Hivite H2768 under Hermon H776 in the land H4709 of Mizpeh.
  4 H3318 And they went out [H8799]   H4264 , they and all their hosts H7227 with them, much H5971 people H2344 , even as the sand H3220 that is upon the sea H8193 shore H7230 in multitude H5483 , with horses H7393 and chariots H3966 very H7227 many.
  5 H4428 And when all these kings H3259 were met together [H8735]   H935 , they came [H8799]   H2583 and pitched [H8799]   H3162 together H4325 at the waters H4792 of Merom H3898 , to fight [H8736]   H3478 against Israel.
  6 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799]   H3091 unto Joshua H3372 , Be not afraid [H8799]   H6440 because H4279 of them: for to morrow H6256 about this time H5414 will I deliver them up [H8802]   H2491 all slain H6440 before H3478 Israel H6131 : thou shalt hough [H8762]   H5483 their horses H8313 , and burn [H8799]   H4818 their chariots H784 with fire.
  7 H3091 So Joshua H935 came [H8799]   H5971 , and all the people H4421 of war H4325 with him, against them by the waters H4792 of Merom H6597 suddenly H5307 ; and they fell upon [H8799]   them.
  8 H3068 And the LORD H5414 delivered [H8799]   H3027 them into the hand H3478 of Israel H5221 , who smote [H8686]   H7291 them, and chased [H8799]   H7227 them unto great H6721 Zidon H4956 , and unto Misrephothmaim H1237 , and unto the valley H4708 of Mizpeh H4217 eastward H5221 ; and they smote [H8686]   H7604 them, until they left [H8689]   H8300 them none remaining.
  9 H3091 And Joshua H6213 did [H8799]   H3068 unto them as the LORD H559 bade [H8804]   H6131 him: he houghed [H8765]   H5483 their horses H8313 , and burnt [H8804]   H4818 their chariots H784 with fire.
  10 H3091 And Joshua H6256 at that time H7725 turned back [H8799]   H3920 , and took [H8799]   H2674 Hazor H5221 , and smote [H8689]   H4428 the king H2719 thereof with the sword H2674 : for Hazor H6440 beforetime H7218 was the head H4467 of all those kingdoms.
  11 H5221 And they smote [H8686]   H5315 all the souls H6310 that were therein with the edge H2719 of the sword H2763 , utterly destroying [H8687]   H3498 them : there was not any left [H8738]   H5397 to breathe H8313 : and he burnt [H8804]   H2674 Hazor H784 with fire.
  12 H5892 And all the cities H4428 of those kings H4428 , and all the kings H3091 of them, did Joshua H3920 take [H8804]   H5221 , and smote [H8686]   H6310 them with the edge H2719 of the sword H2763 , and he utterly destroyed [H8689]   H4872 them, as Moses H5650 the servant H3068 of the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765]  .
  13 H5892 But as for the cities H5975 that stood [H8802]   H8510 still in their strength H3478 , Israel H8313 burned [H8804]   H2108 none of them, save H2674 Hazor H3091 only; that did Joshua H8313 burn [H8804]  .
  14 H7998 And all the spoil H5892 of these cities H929 , and the cattle H1121 , the children H3478 of Israel H962 took for a prey [H8804]   H120 unto themselves; but every man H5221 they smote [H8689]   H6310 with the edge H2719 of the sword H8045 , until they had destroyed [H8687]   H7604 them, neither left [H8689]   H5397 they any to breathe.
  15 H3068 As the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765]   H4872 Moses H5650 his servant H4872 , so did Moses H6680 command [H8765]   H3091 Joshua H6213 , and so did [H8804]   H3091 Joshua H5493 ; he left H1697 nothing H5493 undone [H8689]   H3068 of all that the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765]   H4872 Moses.
  16 H3091 So Joshua H3947 took [H8799]   H776 all that land H2022 , the hills H5045 , and all the south country H776 , and all the land H1657 of Goshen H8219 , and the valley H6160 , and the plain H2022 , and the mountain H3478 of Israel H8219 , and the valley of the same;
  17 H2022 Even from the mount H2510 Halak H5927 , that goeth up [H8802]   H8165 to Seir H1171 , even unto Baalgad H1237 in the valley H3844 of Lebanon H2022 under mount H2768 Hermon H4428 : and all their kings H3920 he took [H8804]   H5221 , and smote [H8686]   H4191 them, and slew [H8686]   them.
  18 H3091 Joshua H6213 made [H8804]   H4421 war H7227 a long H3117 time H4428 with all those kings.
  19 H5892 There was not a city H7999 that made peace [H8689]   H1121 with the children H3478 of Israel H2340 , save the Hivites H3427 the inhabitants [H8802]   H1391 of Gibeon H3947 : all other they took [H8804]   H4421 in battle.
  20 H3068 For it was of the LORD H2388 to harden [H8763]   H3820 their hearts H7125 , that they should come against [H8800]   H3478 Israel H4421 in battle H2763 , that he might destroy them utterly [H8687]   H8467 , and that they might have no favour H8045 , but that he might destroy [H8687]   H3068 them, as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765]   H4872 Moses.
  21 H6256 And at that time H935 came [H8799]   H3091 Joshua H3772 , and cut off [H8686]   H6062 the Anakims H2022 from the mountains H2275 , from Hebron H1688 , from Debir H6024 , from Anab H2022 , and from all the mountains H3063 of Judah H2022 , and from all the mountains H3478 of Israel H3091 : Joshua H2763 destroyed them utterly [H8689]   H5892 with their cities.
  22 H6062 There was none of the Anakims H3498 left [H8738]   H776 in the land H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H5804 : only in Gaza H1661 , in Gath H795 , and in Ashdod H7604 , there remained [H8738]  .
  23 H3091 So Joshua H3947 took [H8799]   H776 the whole land H3068 , according to all that the LORD H1696 said [H8765]   H4872 unto Moses H3091 ; and Joshua H5414 gave [H8799]   H5159 it for an inheritance H3478 unto Israel H4256 according to their divisions H7626 by their tribes H776 . And the land H8252 rested [H8804]   H4421 from war.

  11 H5221 [H8686] And they smote H5315 all the souls H6310 that were in it with the edge H2719 of the sword H2763 [H8687] , utterly destroying H3498 [H8738] them: there was not any left H5397 to breathe H8313 [H8804] : and he burnt H2674 Hazor H784 with fire.
  12 H5892 And all the cities H4428 of those kings H4428 , and all the kings H3091 of them, Joshua H3920 [H8804] took H5221 [H8686] , and smote H6310 them with the edge H2719 of the sword H2763 [H8689] , and he utterly destroyed H4872 them, as Moses H5650 the servant H3068 of the LORD H6680 [H8765] commanded.
  13 H5892 But as for the cities H5975 [H8802] that stood H8510 still in their strength H3478 , Israel H8313 [H8804] burned H2108 none of them, except H2674 Hazor H3091 only; that did Joshua H8313 [H8804] burn.

  16 H3091 So Joshua H3947 [H8799] took H776 all that land H2022 , the hills H5045 , and all the south country H776 , and all the land H1657 of Goshen H8219 , and the valley H6160 , and the plain H2022 , and the mountain H3478 of Israel H8219 , and the valley of the same;
  17 H2022 Even from the mount H2510 Halak H5927 [H8802] , that goeth up H8165 to Seir H1171 , even to Baalgad H1237 in the valley H3844 of Lebanon H2022 under mount H2768 Hermon H4428 : and all their kings H3920 [H8804] he took H5221 [H8686] , and smote H4191 [H8686] them, and slew them.
  18 H3091 Joshua H6213 [H8804] made H4421 war H7227 a long H3117 time H4428 with all those kings.

  22 H6062 There was none of the Anakims H3498 [H8738] left H776 in the land H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H5804 : only in Gaza H1661 , in Gath H795 , and in Ashdod H7604 [H8738] , there remained.
  23 H3091 So Joshua H3947 [H8799] took H776 the whole land H3068 , according to all that the LORD H1696 [H8765] said H4872 to Moses H3091 ; and Joshua H5414 [H8799] gave H5159 it for an inheritance H3478 to Israel H4256 according to their divisions H7626 by their tribes H776 . And the land H8252 [H8804] rested H4421 from war.
