Whiston(i) 30 And Jesus answering, said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who both stripped [him] of his raiment, and wounded [him,] and departed, leaving [him] half-dead. 31 And there came a certain priest, who was going down that way;and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, seeing him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan as he journeyed, came to him: and when he saw him, he had compassion: 34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oyl and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought [him] to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow he took out two denarii, and gave to the host, and said, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou shall spend more, when I return, I will repay [it.] 36 Which therefore seems to thee to have been neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
Wesley(i) 30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who having stripped and wounded him departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And it came to pass that a certain priest came down that way, and seeing him, passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan journeying, came where he was, and seeing him, 34 was moved with tender compassion, And going to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and setting him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow departing, he took out two pieces of money, and gave them to the host, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, as I come back I will repay thee. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was the neighbour to him that fell among the robbers?
Worsley(i) 30 And Jesus replying said, There was a certain man going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among thieves, who after they had stripped and beaten him, went away, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance a certain priest came down that way, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place, went and looked at him, and then crossed the way and passed by. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he was travelling, came up to him, and when He saw him, 34 he was moved with compassion, and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine; and setting him upon his own beast, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow, when he went away he took out two denaries, and gave them to the inn-keeper, and said to him, Take care of him, and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again I will repay thee. 36 Which now of these three dost thou think was neighbor to him that fell among the thieves?
Haweis(i) 30 Then Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who, when they had both stripped him, and covered him with wounds, got off, leaving him half dead. 31 And it so fell out, that a certain priest went down that way, and seeing him, he kept the opposite side of the road. 32 And a Levite also, in the same way, being near the place, came, and seeing him, kept the opposite side of the road. 33 But a certain Samaritan travelling, came by him, and seeing him, was moved with compassion, 34 and coming up to him, bound up his wounds, after pouring on them oil and wine; then setting him on his own beast, he led him to an inn, and took particular care of him. 35 And on the morrow, as he was departing, he took out of his purse two denarii, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take great care of him; and whatever farther expence may be incurred, when I return, I will repay thee. 36 Which then of these three do you suppose to be the neighbour of him who fell into the robbers' hands?

Living_Oracles(i) 30 Jesus said, in return, A man of Jerusalem, traveling to Jericho, fell among robbers; who, having stripped and wounded him, went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest, accidentally going that way, and seeing him, passed by on the father side. 32 Likewise a Levite, on the road, when he came near the place, and saw him, passed by on the farther side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion, 34 and went up to him; and having poured wine and oil into his wounds, he bound them up. Then he set him on his own beast, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the morrow, when he was going away, he took out two denarii, and giving them to the host, said, Take care of this man, and whatever you spend more, when I return I will repay you. 36 Now which of these three, do you think, was neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?
Etheridge(i) 30 Jeshu saith to him, A certain man went down from Urishlem to Jerichu, and fell among robbers, who stripped him and wounded him, and left him with little life subsisting in him, and went. 31 And a certain priest happened to go down by that way, and he saw him and passed over. 32 And likewise also a Levoia, being come to that place, beheld him, and passed over. 33 But a man, a Shomroya, while he journeyed, came where he was, and saw him, and had compassion on him, 34 and went near, and bound up his wounds, and poured in upon them wine and oil, and set him upon his ass, and brought him to the inn, and was anxious for him. 35 And on the morning of the day, he took out two dinoreen, gave to the host, and said to him, Take care of him; and if more thou layest out, when I return I will give to thee. 36 Which therefore of these three doth it appear to thee was neighbour to him who fell into the hands of the thieves?
Murdock(i) 30 Jesus said to him: A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and robbers fell upon him, and plundered him, and smote him, and left him with little life in him, and went their way. 31 And a certain priest went down by that way; and he saw him, and passed on. 32 So also a Levite came, approached the spot, and saw him, and passed on. 33 But a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where he was, and saw him, and took pity on him, 34 and went to him, and bound up his wounds, and poured wine and oil on them, and placed him upon his ass, and brought him to the inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morning of the next day, he took out two denarii and gave to the host, and said: Take good care of him; and if thou expendest any more, when I return, I will repay thee. 36 Which therefore of these three, appears to thee, to have been neighbor to him that fell into the hands of marauders?
Sawyer(i) 30 And Jesus replied and said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who both stripped him and inflicted blows upon him, and went away leaving him half dead. 31 And, providentially, a certain priest went down that way, and seeing him passed by on the other side. 32 And in like manner a Levite also, being at the place, came and saw him, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, on a journey, came where he was, and seeing him had compassion on him; 34 and he came and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and putting him on his own beast, brought him to a khan, and took care of him. 35 And on the next day, putting out two denarii [28 cents], he gave them to the khan-keeper, and said, Take care of him, and whatever you expend more, when I return I will pay you. 36 Which of these three think you was a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?
Diaglott(i) 30 Replying and the Jesus said: A man certain was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and robbers fell among; who both stripping him and blows having inflicted, they departed, leaving half dead being. 31 By chance and a priest certain was going down in the way that, and seeing him, passed along. 32 In like manner and also a Levite, having come near the place, coming and seeing, passed along. 33 A Samaritan but certain traveling, came near him, and seeing him, he was moved with pity. 34 And having approached he moved the wounds of him, pouring on oil and wine; having set and him on the own beast led him to an inn, and he took care of him. 35 And on the next day having come out, having taken out two denarii he gave to the inn keeper, and said to him: Take care of him; and whatever thou mayest expend more, I, in the return me, I will pay to thee. 36 Which then of them of the three a neighbor seems to thee to have been to the having fallen among the robbers?
ABU(i) 30 And Jesus answering said: A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance a certain priest was going down that way; and seeing him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And in like manner also a Levite, arriving at the place, came and saw, and passed by on the other side. 33 And a certain Samaritan, as he was journeying, came where he was, and seeing him had compassion; 34 and coming to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine; and setting him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two denáries and gave to the host, and said: Take care of him; and whatever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor to him that fell among the robbers?
Anderson(i) 30 And Jesus answered and said: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among; robbers, who stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance a certain priest went down along that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 In like manner, also, a Levite, when he came to the place, went and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, who was on a journey, came near him; and when he saw him, he had compassion on him. 34 And he went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine; and he put him on his own beast, and carried him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him: Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, on my return, I will repay you. 36 Which, then, of these three do you think was neighbor to him that fell among the robbers?

YLT(i) 30 and Jesus having taken up the word, said, `A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and having stripped him and inflicted blows, they went away, leaving him half dead. 31 `And by a coincidence a certain priest was going down in that way, and having seen him, he passed over on the opposite side; 32 and in like manner also, a Levite, having been about the place, having come and seen, passed over on the opposite side. 33 `But a certain Samaritan, journeying, came along him, and having seen him, he was moved with compassion, 34 and having come near, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and having lifted him up on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and was careful of him; 35 and on the morrow, going forth, taking out two denaries, he gave to the innkeeper, and said to him, Be careful of him, and whatever thou mayest spend more, I, in my coming again, will give back to thee. 36 `Who, then, of these three, seemeth to thee to have become neighbour of him who fell among the robbers?'
JuliaSmith(i) 30 And Jesus having replied said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers : and having stripped him, and laid on blows, they departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by accident a certain priest went down in that way : and having seen him, went on the opposite side. 32 And likewise also a Levite, having been in the place, having come and seen him, went on the opposite side. 33 And a certain Samaritan, travelling, came to him : and having seen him, felt compassion. 34 And having come near, he bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and having mounted him upon his own animal, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And upon the morrow, he having come forth, taking out two drachmas, he gave to the inn-keeper, and said to him, Take care, of him; and whatever thou spendest besides, I, in my coming back, will repay thee. 36 Which then of these three seems to thee to have been neighbor to him fallen among rubbers.?

Rotherham(i) 30 And taking up [the question], Jesus said––A certain man, was going down from Jerusalem unto Jericho, and, with robbers, fell in,––who, stripping him, and inflicting, wounds, upon him, departed, leaving him, half dead. 31 And, by chance, a certain priest, was coming down by that road, and, seeing him, passed by, on the opposite side. 32 And, in like manner, a Levite also, coming down to the place, and seeing him, passed by, on the opposite side. 33 But, a certain Samaritan, going on his journey, came down to him, and, seeing him, was moved with compassion; 34 and, coming near, bound up his bruises, pouring thereon oil and wine,––and, setting him on his own beast, brought him into an inn, and took care of him. 35 And, on the morrow, throwing out two denaries, he gave them to the inn–keeper, and said––Take care of him, and, whatsoever thou shall further spend, I, when on my way back, will duly pay thee. 36 Which of these three, seemeth unto thee to have become, neighbour, unto him who fell among the robbers?
Twentieth_Century(i) 30 To which Jesus replied: "A man was once going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him of everything, and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. 31 As it chanced, a priest was going down by that road. He saw the man, but passed by on the opposite side. 32 A Levite, too, did the same; he came up to the spot, but, when he saw the man, passed by on the opposite side. 33 But a Samaritan, traveling that way, came upon the man, and, when he saw him, he was moved with compassion. 34 He went to him and bound up his wounds, dressing them with oil and wine, and then put him on his own mule, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out four shillings and gave them to the inn-keeper. 'Take care of him,' he said, 'and whatever more you may spend I will myself repay you on my way back.' 36 Now which, do you think, of these three men," asked Jesus, "proved himself a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"
Godbey(i) 30 Jesus responding said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and fell among thieves, who indeed having stripped him of his raiment, administered blows, went away, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance a certain priest came down that way: and seeing him, passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise also a Levite, being at the place, coming and seeing, passed by on the other side. 33 And a certain Samaritan, on a journey, came near him: and seeing, had compassion on him, 34 and having come to him, he bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine: and having mounted him on his own beast, carried him to a tavern, and cared for him. 35 And on the morrow, taking out two denaria, gave them to the host, and said, Care for him; and whatsoever you expend in addition, on my return, I will pay you. 36 Which one of these three seems to you to have been the neighbor of him who fell among the thieves?
WNT(i) 30 Jesus replied, "A man was once on his way down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell among robbers, who after both stripping and beating him went away, leaving him half dead. 31 Now a priest happened to be going down that way, and on seeing him passed by on the other side. 32 In like manner a Levite also came to the place, and seeing him passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, being on a journey, came where he lay, and seeing him was moved with pity. 34 He went to him, and dressed his wounds with oil and wine and bound them up. Then placing him on his own mule he brought him to an inn, where he bestowed every care on him. 35 The next day he took out two shillings and gave them to the innkeeper. "'Take care of him,' he said, 'and whatever further expense you are put to, I will repay it you at my next visit.' 36 "Which of those three seems to you to have acted like a fellow man to him who fell among the robbers?"
Worrell(i) 30 And Jesus, answering, said, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers; who, both stripping him and inflicting blows, went away, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance, a certain priest was going down that way; and, seeing him, he passed by on the opposite side. 32 And, in like manner, a Levite also, coming to the place, and seeing him, passed by on the opposite side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, going on his way, came down to him; and, seeing him, he was moved with compassion; 34 and, coming to him, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and, setting him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And, on the morrow, taking out two denaries, he gave them to the host, and said, 'Take care of him; and whatsoever you expend additional, I, when I return, will repay you.' 36 Which, therefore, of these three seems to you to have become neighbor of him who fell among the robbers?"
Moffatt(i) 30 Jesus rejoined, "A man going down from Jerusalem to Jericho fell among robbers who stripped and belaboured him and then went off leaving him half-dead. 31 Now it so chanced that a priest was going down the same road, but on seeing him he went past on the opposite side. 32 So did a Levite who came to the spot; he looked at him but passed on the opposite side. 33 However a Samaritan traveller came to where he was and felt pity when he saw him; 34 he went to him, bound his wounds up, pouring oil and wine into them, mounted him on his own steed, took him to an inn, and attended to him. 35 Next morning he took out a couple of shillings and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Attend to him, and if you are put to any extra expense I will refund you on my way back.' 36 Which of these three men, in your opinion, proved a neighbour to the man who fell among the robbers?"
Goodspeed(i) 30 Jesus replied, "A man was on his way down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers, and they stripped him and beat him and went off leaving him half dead. 31 Now a priest happened to be going that way, and when he saw him, he went by on the other side of the road. 32 And a Levite also came to the place, and when he saw him, he went by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan who was traveling that way came upon him, and when he saw him he pitied him, 34 and he went up to him and dressed his wounds with oil and wine and bound them up. And he put him on his own mule and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out a dollar and gave it to the innkeeper and said, 'Take care of him, and whatever more you spend I will refund to you on my way back.' 36 Which of these three do you think proved himself a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"
Riverside(i) 30 Jesus rejoined, "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and went away leaving him half dead. 31 By chance a certain priest was going down that road. When he saw him, he went by on the other side. 32 In the same way a Levite came to the place and saw him, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan as he traveled came near him, and saw him and pitied him, 34 and went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine. Then placing him on his own beast he took him to the inn and cared for him. 35 The next morning he took out two shillings and gave them to the inn-keeper and said, 'Care for him, and what evermore you spend, I will pay in full when I come back.' 36 Which of these three seems to you to have become neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?"
MNT(i) 30 "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell among bandits who both stripped him and beat him, and went off leaving him half dead. 31 "Now a certain priest chanced to be going down that way, but on seeing him he passed on the other side. 32 "In like manner also a Levite who came to the spot, came and looked at him, and passed on the other side. 33 "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him was moved with compassion. 34 "He went to him bound up his wounds, pouring on them oil and wine. He set him on his own beast, and took him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 "The next day he took two silver pieces and gave them to the landlord and said, "'Take care of him, and whatever more you spend I will repay it to you on my way back.' 36 "Which then of these three seems to you to have behaved like a neighbor to the man who fell among bandits?"
Lamsa(i) 30 Jesus said to him, There was a man who went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and the bandits attacked him, and robbed him, and beat him, and left him with little life remaining in him, and they went away. 31 And it chanced a priest was going down that road; and he saw him and passed on. 32 And likewise a Levite came and arrived at that place, and saw him and passed on. 33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him. 34 And he came to him and bound up his wounds, and poured on them wine and oil; and he put him on his own ass, and brought him to the inn, and took care of him. 35 And in the morning, he took out two pennies and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, when I return, I will give it to you. 36 Who therefore of these three, appears to you, became neighbor to him who fell into the hands of the bandits?
CLV(i) 30 Now taking him up, Jesus said, "A certain man descended from Jerusalem to Jericho. And he falls among robbers, who, stripping him as well as pounding him, came away, leaving him half dead." 31 Now it happens by a coincidence, that a certain priest descended by that road, and, perceiving him, passed by on the other side." 32 Now likewise, a Levite also, coming to the place and perceiving him, passed by on the other side." 33 Now a certain Samaritan, being on his way, came by him, and perceiving him, he has compassion, 34 and coming to him, he bandages his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Now, mounting him on his own beast, he led him to a khan and had him cared for." 35 And, on the morrow, coming away, extracting two denarii, he gives them to the khan keeper and said to him, 'Care for him, and anything whatever you should be expending, at my coming back, I will be paying you.'" 36 Which, then, of these three are you supposing has become an associate of the one falling in with the robbers?
Williams(i) 30 Jesus answered: "A man was on his way down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell into the hands of robbers, who both stripped him and beat him till he was half dead, and then went off and left him. 31 Now a priest happened to be going that way, but when he saw him, he went by on the other side of the road. 32 So a Levite likewise came down to the place, but when he saw him, he went by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, while on a journey, came down to him, and when he saw him, his heart was moved with pity for him. 34 So he went to him and dressed his wounds by pouring oil and wine upon them, and then he put him on his donkey and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out a half dollar and handed it to the innkeeper, and said, 'Take care of him, and on my way back I will repay you.' 36 Which one of these three do you think proved himself a real neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers' hands?"
BBE(i) 30 And Jesus, answering him, said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he got into the hands of thieves, who took his clothing and gave him cruel blows, and when they went away, he was half dead. 31 And by chance a certain priest was going down that way: and when he saw him, he went by on the other side. 32 And in the same way, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, went by on the other side. 33 But a certain man of Samaria, journeying that way, came where he was, and when he saw him, he was moved with pity for him, 34 And came to him and put clean linen round his wounds, with oil and wine; and he put him on his beast and took him to a house and took care of him. 35 And the day after he took two pennies and gave them to the owner of the house and said, Take care of him; and if this money is not enough, when I come again I will give you whatever more is needed. 36 Which of these three men, in your opinion, was neighbour to the man who came into the hands of thieves?
MKJV(i) 30 And answering, Jesus said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among robbers, who stripped him of his clothing and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by coincidence a certain priest came down that way and seeing him, he passed by on the opposite side. 32 And in the same way a Levite, also being at the place, coming and seeing him, he passed on the opposite side. 33 But a certain traveling Samaritan came upon him, and seeing him, he was filled with pity. 34 And coming near, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And going on the next day, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him. And whatever more you spend, when I come again I will repay you. 36 Then which of these three, do you think, was neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?
LITV(i) 30 And taking it up, Jesus said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell in with robbers, who both stripping him and laying on blows, went away, leaving him being half dead. 31 But by a coincidence, a certain priest was going on that road; and seeing him, he passed on the opposite side . 32 And in the same way, a Levite, also being at the place, coming and seeing him, he passed on the opposite side . 33 But a certain traveling Samaritan came upon him, and seeing him, he was filled with pity. 34 And coming near, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. And putting him on his own animal, he brought him to an inn and cared for him. 35 And going forth on the morrow, taking out two denarii, he gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Care for him, and whatever more you spend, on my return I will repay to you. 36 Who, then, of these three seems to you to have become a neighbor to the one having fallen among the robbers?
ECB(i) 30 And perceiving, Yah Shua says, A human descends from Yeru Shalem to Yericho and falls among robbers who strip him of his raiment and plague him; and depart, forsaking him half dead. 31 And by coincidence, a priest descends that way: and he sees him and passes by opposite. 32 And likewise a Leviy, being at the place, comes and sees and passes by opposite. 33 Some Shomeroniy, as he journeys, comes where he is and sees him and has a sympathetic spleen on him: 34 and goes to him and binds his trauma - pouring in olive oil and wine and mounts him on his own animal and brings him to an inn and takes care of him: 35 and on the morrow as he departs, he casts two denarion and gives them to the innkeeper, and says to him, Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, when I come again, I give to you. 36 Who of these three, think you, became neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?
AUV(i) 30 Jesus answered him, “A certain man was traveling down from Jerusalem to Jericho [Note: This was a town about eighteen miles northeast of Jerusalem], when he was attacked by robbers, who stripped him [of his clothing and belongings] and beat him up, then went away leaving him half dead. 31 And it just happened that a certain priest was traveling down that [same] road, and when he saw the [injured] man, he went around him on the opposite side of the road. 32 In the same way, a Levite [Note: Levites were assistants to the priests], when coming to that place and seeing the [injured] man, also went around him on the opposite side [of the road]. 33 But [then] a certain Samaritan [Note: This was a person despised by the Jews and regarded by them as a ‘half-breed’], as he traveled along, came to where the [injured] man was [lying], and upon seeing him [lying there], felt deep pity [for him]. 34 So, he went over to him, poured oil and wine on him [i.e., as emergency medical treatment], then bandaged his wounds, placed him on his own animal, and took him to a lodge where he took care of him. 35 Then the next day he gave the lodge keeper two coins [Note: These coins amounted to two days of a farm laborer’s pay, or about $140 in 1994] and told him, ‘Take care of this [injured] man; and whatever more you have to spend on him I will repay you when I come back [this way] again.’ 36 [Now] which of these three men do you think acted like a neighbor to the man attacked by the robbers?”
ACV(i) 30 And having replied, Jesus said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. And he encountered bandits, who also, having stripped him and having beat him, departed having left him being half dead. 31 And by coincidence a certain priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise also a Levite who happened upon the place, having come, and having looked, passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to him, and when he saw him, felt compassion. 34 And having come, he wrapped up his wounds, pouring on olive oil and wine. And having set him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow when departing, after taking out two denarii, he gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him, and whatever thou might spend more, I will repay thee at my return. 36 Which therefore, of these three, appears to thee to have become neighbor to the man who fell among the bandits?

EJ2000(i) 30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment and wounded him and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And it so happened that a certain priest came down that way; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when he came near the place and looked on him, he passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was; and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion 34 and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two denarius and gave them to the host and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

WPNT(i) 30 By way of reply Jesus said: “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and as it chanced he ran into robbers, who after having stripped and wounded him, departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by coincidence a certain priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he traveled, came by there, and upon seeing him was moved with compassion; 34 and going to him he bound up his wounds, applying oil and wine. JMNT(i) 30 So undertaking [a response], Jesus said, "A certain person (human being) was walking down from Jerusalem into Jericho and he fell encircled round about by bandits (robbers; highwaymen), who, after stripping him and putting blows upon (= beating) [him], went away, leaving [him] half dead. 31 "Now by coincidence, a certain priest was walking down on that road, and upon seeing him, passed by on the other side. 32 "And likewise also, a Levite, coming [other MSS: happening] down upon the place and seeing him, passed by on the other side. 33 "But a Samaritan – someone progressively traveling on the road – came upon him and at seeing [him and the situation] was moved in his inner organs with compassion. 34 "Then, after coming to [him], he bound down (bandaged) the results of his trauma and injuries (wounds), pouring on olive oil and wine. Now after mounting him upon his own animal (either: pack animal, or, mount) he led him into a caravansary (or: inn) and took care of him (or: had him cared for). 35 "And then on the next day, thrusting out (or: extracting and putting forth) two denarii (silver coins), he gave them to the caravansary host (or: innkeeper – the one who welcomes everyone) and said, 'Take care of him. And that which you may likely spend in addition, I myself will proceed in paying [it] back to you on the [occasion for] me to be progressively coming back upon [this place].' 36 "Which one of these three now seems (appears) to you to have come to be a neighbor (associate; close-one) of the person falling into the midst of the bandits (highwaymen)?"

He set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn to take care of him. 35 »The next day he paid the host two shillings. He said take care of him and if you spend more I will repay you when I return. 36 »Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?«
ISV(i) 30 After careful consideration, Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of bandits. They stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 By chance, a priest was traveling along that road. When he saw the man, he went by on the other side. 32 Similarly, a descendant of Levi came to that place. When he saw the man, he also went by on the other side. 33 But as he was traveling along, a Samaritan came across the man. When the Samaritan saw him, he was moved with compassion. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 The next day, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take good care of him. If you spend more than that, I’ll repay you when I come back.’
36 “Of these three men, who do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the bandits?”

BSB(i) 30 Jesus took up this question and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Take care of him,’ he said, ‘and on my return I will repay you for any additional expense.’ 36 Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
MSB(i) 30 Jesus took up this question and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a priest was going down the same road, but when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, when a Levite came to that spot and saw him, he passed by on the other side. 33 But when a Samaritan on a journey came upon him, he looked at him and had compassion. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. MLV(i) 30 But Jesus, having taken it in, said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and laid wounds on him. They went away, leaving him, being half dead. 31 But by coincidence, a certain priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he evaded him. 32 Now likewise, a Levite also happened to be in the place, when he came and saw him, he evaded him too. 33 But a certain traveling Samaritan came to him, and having seen him, had compassion. 34 And having come near to him, he bound up his trauma, pouring on them oil and wine, and having mounted him upon his own animal, led him to an inn and cared for him. 35 And upon the next-day, going out, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, Care for him, and if you spend anything over that, I will be repaying you when I come back again. 36 Therefore, which one of these three seems to have become a neighbor to the one who fell among the robbers?
VIN(i) 30 To which Jesus replied: "A man was once going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when he fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him of everything, and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. 31 Now a priest happened to be going down that way, and on seeing him passed by on the other side. 32 So likewise, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he travelled, came where he was, and saw him, and took pity on him, 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.

Ako što više potrošiš, isplatit ću ti kad se budem vraćao.'" 36 "Što ti se čini, koji je od ove trojice bio bližnji onomu koji je upao među razbojnike?"
BKR(i) 30 I odpověděv Ježíš, řekl: Člověk jeden šel z Jeruzaléma do Jericho, i upadl mezi lotry. Kteříž obloupivše jej a zranivše, odešli, odpolu živého nechavše. 31 I přihodilo se, že kněz jeden šel touž cestou, a uzřev jej, pominul. 32 Též i Levíta až k tomu místu přišed, a uzřev jej, pominul. 33 Samaritán pak jeden, cestou se bera, přišel až k němu, a uzřev jej, milosrdenstvím hnut jest. 34 A přistoupě, uvázal rány jeho, naliv oleje a vína, a vloživ jej na hovado své, vedl do hospody, a péči o něj měl. 35 Druhého pak dne odjíti maje, vyňav dva peníze, dal hospodáři, a řekl: Měj o něj péči, a cožkoli nad to vynaložíš, já když se vrátím, zaplatím tobě.
