  1 H5712 And all the congregation H5375 lifted up H6963 their voice, H5414 and cried; H5971 and the people H1058 wept H3915 that night.
  2 H1121 And all the children H3478 of Israel H3885 murmured H4872 against Moses H175 and against Aaron: H5712 and the whole congregation H559 said H3863 unto them, Would H4191 that we had died H776 in the land H4714 of Egypt! H3863 or would H4191 that we had died H4057 in this wilderness!
  3 H3068 And wherefore doth Jehovah H935 bring H776 us unto this land, H5307 to fall H2719 by the sword? H802 Our wives H2945 and our little ones H957 will be a prey: H2896 were it not better H7725 for us to return H4714 into Egypt?
  4 H559 And they said H376 one H251 to another, H5414 Let us make H7218 a captain, H7725 and let us return H4714 into Egypt.
  5 H4872 Then Moses H175 and Aaron H5307 fell H6440 on their faces H6440 before H6951 all the assembly H5712 of the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel.
  6 H3091 And Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun H3612 and Caleb H1121 the son H3312 of Jephunneh, H8446 who were of them that spied H776 out the land, H7167 rent H899 their clothes:
  7 H559 and they spake H5712 unto all the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H559 saying, H776 The land, H5674 which we passed H8446 through to spy H3966 it out, is an exceeding H2896 good H776 land.
  8 H3068 If Jehovah H2654 delight H935 in us, then he will bring H776 us into this land, H5414 and give H776 it unto us; a land H2100 which floweth H2461 with milk H1706 and honey.
  9 H4775 Only rebel H3068 not against Jehovah, H3372 neither fear H5971 ye the people H776 of the land; H3899 for they are bread H6738 for us: their defence H5493 is removed H3068 from over them, and Jehovah H3372 is with us: fear them not.
  10 H5712 But all the congregation H559 bade H7275 stone H68 them with stones. H3519 And the glory H3068 of Jehovah H7200 appeared H168 in the tent H4150 of meeting H1121 unto all the children H3478 of Israel.
  11 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said H4872 unto Moses, H5971 How long will this people H5006 despise H3808 me? and how long will they not H539 believe H226 in me, for all the signs H6213 which I have wrought H7130 among them?
  12 H5221 I will smite H1698 them with the pestilence, H3423 and disinherit H6213 them, and will make H1471 of thee a nation H1419 greater H6099 and mightier than they.
  13 H4872 And Moses H559 said H3068 unto Jehovah, H4714 Then the Egyptians H8085 will hear H5927 it; for thou broughtest up H5971 this people H3581 in thy might H7130 from among them;
  14 H559 and they will tell H3427 it to the inhabitants H776 of this land. H8085 They have heard H3068 that thou Jehovah H7130 art in the midst H5971 of this people; H3068 for thou Jehovah H7200 art seen H5869 face H5869 to face, H6051 and thy cloud H5975 standeth H1980 over them, and thou goest H6440 before H5982 them, in a pillar H6051 of cloud H3119 by day, H5982 and in a pillar H784 of fire H3915 by night.
  15 H4191 Now if thou shalt kill H5971 this people H259 as one H376 man, H1471 then the nations H8085 which have heard H8088 the fame H559 of thee will speak, H559 saying,
  16 H3068 Because Jehovah H1115 was not H3201 able H935 to bring H5971 this people H776 into the land H7650 which he sware H7819 unto them, therefore he hath slain H4057 them in the wilderness.
  17 H3581 And now, I pray thee, let the power H136 of the Lord H1431 be great, H834 according H1696 as thou hast spoken, H559 saying,
  18 H3068 Jehovah H750 is slow to anger, H7227 and abundant H2617 in lovingkindness, H5375 forgiving H5771 iniquity H6588 and transgression; H5352 and that will by no means H5352 clear H6485 the guilty, visiting H5771 the iniquity H1 of the fathers H1121 upon the children, H8029 upon the third H7256 and upon the fourth generation.
  19 H5545 Pardon, H5771 I pray thee, the iniquity H5971 of this people H1433 according unto the greatness H2617 of thy lovingkindness, H5375 and according as thou hast forgiven H5971 this people, H4714 from Egypt H2008 even until now.
  20 H3068 And Jehovah H559 said, H5545 I have pardoned H1697 according to thy word:
  21 H199 but in very deed, H2416 as I live, H776 and as all the earth H4390 shall be filled H3519 with the glory H3068 of Jehovah;
  22 H582 because all those men H7200 that have seen H3519 my glory, H226 and my signs, H6213 which I wrought H4714 in Egypt H4057 and in the wilderness, H5254 yet have tempted H6235 me these ten H6471 times, H8085 and have not hearkened H6963 to my voice;
  23 H518 surely they shall not H7200 see H776 the land H7650 which I sware H1 unto their fathers, H5006 neither shall any of them that despised H7200 me see it:
  24 H5650 but my servant H3612 Caleb, H6118 because H312 he had another H7307 spirit H310 with him, and hath followed H4390 me fully, H935 him will I bring H776 into the land H935 whereinto he went; H2233 and his seed H3423 shall possess it.
  25 H6003 Now the Amalekite H3669 and the Canaanite H3427 dwell H6010 in the valley: H4279 to-morrow H6437 turn H5265 ye, and get H4057 you into the wilderness H1870 by the way H5488 to the Red H3220 Sea.
  26 H3068 And Jehovah H1696 spake H4872 unto Moses H175 and unto Aaron, H559 saying,
  27 H7451 How long shall I bear with this evil H5712 congregation, H3885 that murmur H8085 against me? I have heard H8519 the murmurings H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel, H3885 which they murmur against me.
  28 H559 Say H2416 unto them, As I live, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah, H3808 surely as H1696 ye have spoken H241 in mine ears, H6213 so will I do to you:
  29 H6297 your dead bodies H5307 shall fall H4057 in this wilderness; H6485 and all that were numbered H4557 of you, according to your whole number, H6242 from twenty H8141 years H1121 old H4605 and upward, H3885 that have murmured against me,
  30 H518 surely ye shall not H935 come H776 into the land, H3027 concerning which I sware H7931 that I would make you dwell H3612 therein, save Caleb H1121 the son H3312 of Jephunneh, H3091 and Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun.
  31 H2945 But your little ones, H559 that ye said H957 should be a prey, H935 them will I bring in, H3045 and they shall know H776 the land H3988 which ye have rejected.
  32 H6297 But as for you, your dead bodies H5307 shall fall H4057 in this wilderness.
  33 H1121 And your children H7462 shall be wanderers H4057 in the wilderness H705 forty H8141 years, H5375 and shall bear H2184 your whoredoms, H6297 until your dead bodies H8552 be consumed H4057 in the wilderness.
  34 H4557 After the number H3117 of the days H8446 in which ye spied H776 out the land, H705 even forty H3117 days, H3117 for every day H3117 a year, H5375 shall ye bear H5771 your iniquities, H705 even forty H8141 years, H3045 and ye shall know H8569 my alienation.
  35 H3068 I, Jehovah, H1696 have spoken, H518 surely H6213 this will I do H2063 unto H7451 all this evil H5712 congregation, H3259 that are gathered together H4057 against me: in this wilderness H8552 they shall be consumed, H4191 and there they shall die.
  36 H582 And the men, H4872 whom Moses H7971 sent H8446 to spy H776 out the land, H7725 who returned, H5712 and made all the congregation H3885 to murmur H3318 against him, by bringing up H1681 an evil report H776 against the land,
  37 H582 even those H582 men H3318 that did bring up H7451 an evil H1681 report H776 of the land, H4191 died H4046 by the plague H6440 before H3068 Jehovah.
  38 H3091 But Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun, H3612 and Caleb H1121 the son H3312 of Jephunneh, H2421 remained alive H1992 of those men H1980 that went H8446 to spy H776 out the land.
  39 H4872 And Moses H1696 told H1697 these words H1121 unto all the children H3478 of Israel: H5971 and the people H56 mourned H3966 greatly.
  40 H7925 And they rose up early H1242 in the morning, H5927 and gat them up H7218 to the top H2022 of the mountain, H559 saying, H2009 Lo, H5927 we are here, and will go up H4725 unto the place H3068 which Jehovah H559 hath promised: H2398 for we have sinned.
  41 H4872 And Moses H559 said, H5674 Wherefore now do ye transgress H6310 the commandment H3068 of Jehovah, H6743 seeing it shall not prosper?
  42 H5927 Go not up, H3068 for Jehovah H7130 is not among H5062 you; that ye be not smitten H6440 down before H341 your enemies.
  43 H6003 For there the Amalekite H3669 and the Canaanite H6440 are before H5307 you, and ye shall fall H2719 by the sword: H7725 because ye are turned H310 back H3068 from following Jehovah, H3068 therefore Jehovah will not be with you.
  44 H6075 But they presumed H5927 to go up H7218 to the top H2022 of the mountain: H727 nevertheless the ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of Jehovah, H4872 and Moses, H4185 departed H4185 not out H4264 of the camp.
  45 H6003 Then the Amalekite H3381 came down, H3669 and the Canaanite H3427 who dwelt H2022 in that mountain, H5221 and smote H3807 them and beat H2767 them down, even unto Hormah.
