Hosea 4 שׁמעו Hear דבר the word יהוה of the LORD, בני ye children ישׂראל of Israel: כי for ריב hath a controversy ליהוה the LORD עם with יושׁבי the inhabitants הארץ of the land, כי because אין no אמת truth, ואין nor חסד mercy, ואין nor דעת knowledge אלהים of God בארץ׃ in the land.

1 H8085 שׁמעו Hear H1697 דבר the word H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H1121 בני ye children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H3588 כי for H7379 ריב hath a controversy H3068 ליהוה the LORD H5973 עם with H3427 יושׁבי the inhabitants H776 הארץ of the land, H3588 כי because H369 אין no H571 אמת truth, H369 ואין nor H2617 חסד mercy, H369 ואין nor H1847 דעת knowledge H430 אלהים of God H776 בארץ׃ in the land.

2 H422 אלה By swearing, H3584 וכחשׁ and lying, H7523 ורצח and killing, H1589 וגנב and stealing, H5003 ונאף and committing adultery, H6555 פרצו they break out, H1818 ודמים and blood H1818 בדמים blood. H5060 נגעו׃ toucheth

3 H5921 על H3651 כן H56 תאבל mourn, H776 הארץ shall the land H535 ואמלל therein shall languish, H3605 כל and every one H3427 יושׁב that dwelleth H2416 בה בחית with the beasts H7704 השׂדה of the field, H5775 ובעוף and with the fowls H8064 השׁמים of heaven; H1571 וגם also H1709 דגי yea, the fishes H3220 הים of the sea H622 יאספו׃ shall be taken away.

4 H389 אך Yet H376 אישׁ man H408 אל let no H7378 ירב strive, H408 ואל nor H3198 יוכח reprove H376 אישׁ another: H5971 ועמך for thy people H7378 כמריבי as they that strive H3548 כהן׃ with the priest.

5 H3782 וכשׁלת Therefore shalt thou fall H3117 היום in the day, H3782 וכשׁל shall fall H1571 גם also H5030 נביא and the prophet H5973 עמך with H3915 לילה thee in the night, H1820 ודמיתי and I will destroy H517 אמך׃ thy mother.

6 H1820 נדמו are destroyed H5971 עמי My people H1097 מבלי for lack H1847 הדעת of knowledge: H3588 כי because H859 אתה thou H1847 הדעת knowledge, H3988 מאסת hast rejected H3988 ואמאסאך I will also reject H3547 מכהן thee, that thou shalt be no priest H7911 לי ותשׁכח to me: seeing thou hast forgotten H8451 תורת the law H430 אלהיך of thy God, H7911 אשׁכח forget H1121 בניך thy children. H1571 גם will also H589 אני׃ I

7 H7235 כרבם H3651 כן so H2398 חטאו they sinned H3519 לי כבודם their glory H7036 בקלון into shame. H4171 אמיר׃ against me: will I change

8 H2403 חטאת the sin H5971 עמי of my people, H398 יאכלו They eat up H413 ואל on H5771 עונם their iniquity. H5375 ישׂאו and they set H5315 נפשׁו׃ their heart

9 H1961 והיה And there shall be, H5971 כעם like people, H3548 ככהן like priest: H6485 ופקדתי H5921 עליו H1870 דרכיו them for their ways, H4611 ומעלליו them their doings. H7725 אשׁיב׃ and reward

10 H398 ואכלו For they shall eat, H3808 ולא and not H7646 ישׂבעו have enough: H2181 הזנו they shall commit whoredom, H3808 ולא and shall not H6555 יפרצו increase: H3588 כי because H853 את H3068 יהוה to the LORD. H5800 עזבו they have left off H8104 לשׁמר׃ to take heed

11 H2184 זנות Whoredom H3196 ויין and wine H8492 ותירושׁ and new wine H3947 יקח take away H3820 לב׃ the heart.

12 H5971 עמי My people H6086 בעצו at their stocks, H7592 ישׁאל ask counsel H4731 ומקלו and their staff H5046 יגיד declareth H3588 לו כי unto them: for H7307 רוח the spirit H2183 זנונים of whoredoms H8582 התעה hath caused to err, H2181 ויזנו and they have gone a whoring H8478 מתחת from under H430 אלהיהם׃ their God.

13 H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁי the tops H2022 ההרים of the mountains, H2076 יזבחו They sacrifice H5921 ועל upon H1389 הגבעות the hills, H6999 יקטרו and burn incense H8478 תחת under H437 אלון oaks H3839 ולבנה and poplars H424 ואלה and elms, H3588 כי because H2896 טוב thereof good: H6738 צלה the shadow H5921 על therefore H3651 כן therefore H2181 תזנינה shall commit whoredom, H1323 בנותיכם your daughters H3618 וכלותיכם and your spouses H5003 תנאפנה׃ shall commit adultery.

14 H3808 לא I will not H6485 אפקוד punish H5921 על punish H1323 בנותיכם your daughters H3588 כי when H2181 תזנינה they commit whoredom, H5921 ועל H3618 כלותיכם nor your spouses H3588 כי when H5003 תנאפנה they commit adultery: H3588 כי for H1992 הם themselves H5973 עם with H2181 הזנות whores, H6504 יפרדו are separated H5973 ועם with H6948 הקדשׁות harlots: H2076 יזבחו and they sacrifice H5971 ועם therefore the people H3808 לא doth not H995 יבין understand H3832 ילבט׃ shall fall.

15 H518 אם Though H2181 זנה play the harlot, H859 אתה thou, H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H408 אל let not H816 יאשׁם offend; H3063 יהודה Judah H408 ואל not H935 תבאו and come H1537 הגלגל ye unto Gilgal, H408 ואל neither H5927 תעלו go ye up H1007 בית און to Beth-aven, H408 ואל nor H7650 תשׁבעו swear, H2416 חי liveth. H3069 יהוה׃

16 H3588 כי For H6510 כפרה heifer: H5637 סררה slideth back H5637 סרר as a backsliding H3478 ישׂראל Israel H6258 עתה now H7462 ירעם will feed H3068 יהוה the LORD H3532 ככבשׂ them as a lamb H4800 במרחב׃ in a large place.

17 H2266 חבור joined H6091 עצבים to idols: H669 אפרים Ephraim H3240 הנח׃

18 H5493 סר is sour: H5435 סבאם Their drink H2181 הזנה they have committed whoredom continually: H2181 הזנו they have committed whoredom continually: H157 אהבו do love, H157 הבו H7036 קלון shame H4043 מגניה׃ her rulers

19 H6887 צרר H7307 רוח The wind H853 אותה H3671 בכנפיה in her wings, H954 ויבשׁו and they shall be ashamed H2077 מזבחותם׃ because of their sacrifices.
