THE DEATH OF ASA
And in the thirty-ninth year of his sovereigndom Asa sickens in his feet until his sickness is severe: yet in his sickness he seeks not Yah Veh, but the healers.

Even then he did not turn to Jehovah for help, but to doctors.
ISV(i) 7 Asa is Rebuked by Hanani the Seer
Right about then, Hanani the seer came to King Asa of Judah and rebuked him. “Because you have put your trust in the king of Aram and have not relied on the LORD your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your control. 8 Weren’t the Ethiopians and the Libyans a vast army with many chariots and cavalry? Yet because you relied on the LORD, he gave them into your control! 9 The LORD’s eyes keep on roaming throughout the earth, looking for those whose hearts completely belong to him, so that he may strongly support them. But because you have acted foolishly in this, from now on you will have wars.” 10 In response, Asa flew into a rage and locked up the seer in stocks in the palace prison because of what Hanani had told him. Asa also tortured some of the people of Israel at that time.
11 Asa’s Illness and Death
Now the accomplishments of Asa from first to last are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah. 12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa suffered from a foot disease. Even though he suffered greatly, he never sought the LORD, but instead looked to doctors.

Croatian(i) 7 U to vrijeme dođe vidjelac Hanani k judejskom kralju Asi i reče mu: "Budući da si se oslonio na aramejskoga kralja, a nisi se oslonio na Jahvu, Boga svoga, vojska aramejskoga kralja izmakla ti je iz ruke. 8 Nisu li Etiopljani i Libijci imali silne čete sa vrlo mnogo bojnih kola i konjanika? Pa kad si se oslonio na Jahvu, predao ti ih je u ruke. 9 Jer Jahve svojim očima gleda po svoj zemlji da bi se ohrabrili oni kojima je srce iskreno prema njemu. Ludo si u tome radio, zato će se od sada dizati ratovi na te." 10 Tada se Asa razgnjevi na vidioca i baci ga u tamnicu, jer se razjario na nj. Lithuanian(i) 7 Tuo metu regėtojas Hananis, atėjęs pas Judo karalių Asą, jam tarė: “Kadangi tu pasitikėjai Sirijos karaliumi, o ne Viešpačiu, savo Dievu, Sirijos karaliaus kariuomenė ištrūko iš tavo rankų. 8 Ar etiopai ir libiai neturėjo didžiulės kariuomenės, kovos vežimų ir raitelių? Kadangi pasitikėjai Viešpačiu, tai Jis juos atidavė į tavo rankas. 9 Nes Viešpaties akys stebi visą žemę, kad parodytų savo galią dėl tų, kurių širdis yra tobula prieš Jį. Ukrainian(i) 7 А того часу прийшов прозорливець Ханані до Аси, Юдиного царя, та й сказав до нього: Через те, що ти спирався на сирійського царя, а не сперся на Господа, Бога свого, тому втекло з твоєї руки військо сирійського царя. 8 Чи ж не були кушеяни та ливіяни військом дуже великим, колесницями й верхівцями дуже численними? Та коли ти сперся на Господа, Він дав їх у твою руку. 9 Бо очі Господні дивляться по всій землі, щоб зміцнити тих, у кого все їхнє серце до Нього. Тому зробив ти нерозумно, бо відтепер будуть у тебе війни! 10 І розгнівався Аса на прозорливця, і дав його до в'язниці, бо був у гніві на нього за це. І Аса тиснув декого з народу того часу. 11 І оце Асині діла, перші та останні, ось вони описані в книзі Юдиних та Ізраїлевих царів. 12 І занедужав Аса тридцятого й дев'ятого року свого царювання на свої ноги, і хвороба його була тяжка.
